    Jason,
I have been anxiously awaiting your report.
You're my kind of Vegas traveler - not just the gambling, but the side trips, as well. You certainly get the max 'bounce-for-the-ounce'.
I have a feeling it was relaxing for you to to kick back and watch the Illinois high school football state finals this weekend after the Vegas jaunt.

Thanks. I can't wait to go again - most likely in early 2010. I usually bus it but we got the car for the various side trips and to catch non strip casinos. I've gotten cars in the past to go to side trips (Canyon, Zion, Death Valley NPs) as Vegas has so many great places to visit within driving distance.

Many of my HS teams lost my I enjoyed watching the games I was able to catch in between playing football over the weekend.

I've posted pics including Red Rock photos, views from VooDoo and Mix Lounges and views / interiors of all three rooms.

Question for you? What was the tip you got about the VIP line for the RIO? When you checked in you were not at platinum level, correct?

Very enjoyable read. You sure covered a lot of real estate. That walk from downtown is something I wouldn't try but good on ya for making it. Thanks for posting!

My brother picked up passes at the check in desk when he picked up his room key (I was already checked in). Also, there are people who hand out passes on the floor of the casino, at least during mid week when we were there.

It wasn't crowded and they were still serving food but people were paying to get in at the elevator.

My brother knew a VIP Promoter ("Jimmy) who got him and anyone into any club over the past few years but unfortunately he moved shop to Miami a few months ago which spoiled our plans to visit XS. I am not a club person but if I was XS is the club I would want to go to. The eye candy that parades in front of the poker room (to / from self parking) blows the rest of Vegas away.

It was a long trip and trip report - Thank You for reading and I am glad you enjoyed reading it!

I walk 5 (exercise) + 2 miles (to / from train) each day (though I do not exercise during the brutal Chicago winter) at a brisk pace (14-15 minute miles) so I was used to it. Pedestrian traffic was light that early in the morning on the main strip and non existent between downtown and Wynn.

I meant about checking in. How did you get to go to the VIP line without being at Platinum level?
