    My Trip Report

This is a long report, so I will post some do's and dont's up front.

Do's: Stay at Binions because there is no resort fees! Those fees suck:Þ
At Binions get your picture taken free with $1 mil. Its free and its the closest you'll ever get to that much cash:rolleyes2: ALSO they give you a coupon sheet. Go to the Binions Coffee Shop and use the 241 on the succulent prime rib. You cant go wrong for $10 for 2 people you wont be hungry after or disappointed. Plus some other valuable coupons if your a new sign up.

Buy a Las Vegas Advisor, and American Casino Guide- its money well spent. and also the Ent book for LV but if you had to buy 1 make it the LVA.

Check out KSHP.com and plan ahead. Great deals on some show tickets and food. Locals should enjoy this site.

Eat at The Cantina at Tuscany's Hotel and Casino. Great mexican food. Use your 241! If you don't have 1 look at most LV coupon books/magazines you can find, some have a 241 in it!

Buy a LV newspaper for daily for a 241 buffet at Station Casinos-Beware avoid Palace Station and Boulder Station Buffets! The rest are good. If you buy a newspaper from the hotel its 1.25 on the street its .75. Make the investment and visit Red Rock Casino with the coupon!! Sometimes there are other coupons in there as well.

Pick up any LV coupon books or magazines. Scour them for good deals. Also Yellow Cab have 2 different books just ask them.

    Dont's:
Avoid Palace and Boulder Station buffets.
Skip Vinny Favorito at the Flamingo unless you like hearing the F bomb every 15 seconds and being insulted.

    Now the dreaded details:
DAY 1-Left sunny San Diego on 9/21 at 5 am to drive to LV.
Ate at Buffalo Bills / Wagon master restaurant. Used a 241 from the Ent book and walked out with a descent meal for both of us at $12.
Stopped at KSHP radio station in LV to pick up some discounted tickets for shows and register the credit card on file for future use(very convenient for next time).Check out KSHP.com to see what they have. If you plan in advance you can truly save at this site.I also posted a thread under discount tickets a few weeks ago.

We registered at Binions for the first 4 nights. The wife had a free 2 night stay and the other 2 were only $22 a night WITH NO RESORT FEE....We paid $50 including tax for our stay here. The room was clean but facing Fremont Street so it was loud but what can you expect. I would request an inside room next time.

Ate at mad Greeks on the strip for dinner. Food quality wasn't all that hot. I had a pastrami, and the wife had a Gyro. It cost us 15 for dinner which included a discount restaurant cert from KSHP. Later though I found a coupon for 241 scouring the vegas magazines. I don't think I would go back though!

Posted an ad on Craigs list and scored 2 tix to Cheap Trick performing Sgt Peppers at the Hilton for $20 ea. What a deal and a great show with descent seats. That was a limited engagement so the show is over. It truly was a highlight for me. they had a great orchestra too!

    Day 2 9/22
Ate breakfast at Wildfire Casino Denny at N. Rancho. They have an ongoing special for 2 eggs, toast and bacon or sausage all for $1.99. Its a drive from downtown but good way to kill time. We did find out Fitz has a great special for breakfast right at Fremont st!
Lunch was Robertos -$10 voucher for $4 from KSHP . The wife and I got a Carne Asada you cant go wrong with that. We know they are good since they are located in SD as well.
Dinner was at the Silverton buffet 241 $15. If I didn't have a coupon I would be disappointed. The food wasn't that great . We have eaten here before but the quality was a little off this time.
We saw Mystere thanks to the board recommending for 1st timers to a Cirque show. We both enjoyed it. We got tix on line buy 1 get 1 for $25. It came out to $125 for both of us.

    DAY3 9/23
Breakfast at Fritz $5 for both of us. It was a descent breakfast which included 2 eggs, toast, and hash brown. OK way to start the day. For the price they have a cafe upstairs with specials throughout the day.
We went to a "road show" sponsored by KSHP and picked up some tix for shows later in our trip. This was at Dyers Popcorn and we bought a bag of Pecan carmel corn. We spent $9 on a large bag and KSHP gave us $9 off our order of tickets!
Lunch $5 for 2 burgers at Binions using their 241 coupon you can get by getting your picture taken with $1 mil. they have great coupons there more later.
Went to a free show(didn't need to buy a drink) thanks to a coupon we got from Hooters. We saw Todd Paul a comedian. The show was good though a little vulgar at times. He does comedy, some magic, unicycle riding and juggling. You can find coupons around town for the show but need to buy a drink for $8. I would suggest checking it out.
Dinner was at Finz on Fremont Street. We used a 241 coupon from the Ent book and dinner was $15. I had a chicken sandwich and the wife had shrimp and chips.

    Day 4 9/24
Lunch at Tacones in the PH mall for $9. used a 241 and I got a Buffalo chicken wrap, and the wife had a turkey wrap. The wraps are good but taste better with a 241.
We saw Ronn Lucas a ventriloquist at South Point casino for $20 for both of us! I asked about the 241 in the LVA and they honored it! He is there on a limited engagement every thursday for a few more weeks. He played the strip many years but had been gone for close to 2 years. The show was clean, and funny! If you are there go see it!
Late Dinner was at Binions Coffee shop. Don't be fooled by the name. The wife and I had the prime rib! It was the best I had. They have a 241 in Binions if you get your picture taken with the $1 million, or just ask the girl taking pictures they will give it free! The prime rib is $10 for 2! It was so good we went back our last day in Vegas.

    Day 5 9/25
Lunch at the coffee shop in Binions with a 241 for$8. I had the french toast and the wife had eggs, hash browns, sausage, and toast. Great deal for the money and good food.
Checked out of Binions for a total of $50 for 4 nights with NO Resort Fee! Price was with 2 nights free.
We drove to the Eastside Cannery on Boulder Hwy to kill time before checking into our next hotel. We ate at Snaps which is a cafe $12 using a 241. they make great sandwiches and give good portions!
We checked into the lovely Palace Station for 2 free nights. The wife got a flier in the mail, and the best part it was good any night. Most fliers are sun-thur so this fit in perfect for th trip. They put us in a Courtyard room. It is situated in the back of the hotel area. It is a haul from the reg hotel rooms but the price was right! If you haul a lot of luggage or are elderly I wouldnt get these rooms unless you are on the 1st floor. We were on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. The room was actually very nice but a little out of the way. It was 2 nights so it didn't matter. Normal price is around$25 HOWEVER be careful as the Station Casinos have the DREADED resort fee which is around $15 a day!!!!OUCH. With our free stay we avoided it.
For dinner we at at the Cantina at the Tuscany. this is a great little casino/hotel near flamingo and Paradise. The food is great and the LVA has a 241. Also magazines in LV have a free coupon too! The wife had seafood enchiladas and I had beef enchiladas. We have eaten here before and I would highly recommend it.
We then saw Vinny Favorito at the Flamingo for $33 for 2 tickets bought through KSHP.com This was a fantastic price though I think the LVA has a 241. The show was funny but too vulgar for me. Why do comedians think they have to drop the F bomb to be funny? He insults the audience and picks on all races, religions etc. I will Not recommend this one.

    Day 6 9/26
Palace Stn breakfast buffet 241 $11 AVOID Palace Stn at all costs. We made the mistake again and it truly stinks. How can you screw up breakfast? Ask them...
Dinner was at the Eastside Cannery buffet for 2 $12. The food wasn't what I expected from the Cannery. We have not eaten at this particular one since last we were in town it wasn't open yet. The food was marginal but given we had a coupon it was tolerable. In April we ate at the Cannery(north LV) at their buffet and it seemed better.

    day 7 9/27
Checked out of palace Stn and stayed the next 3 nights for free at the Sahara. The wife had an offer to enter into a free slot tournament and get 3 nights free! Once again the price is right. The stipulation is you must play in the tourney. If you register early(5pm) you get some good times to play. it was 3 rounds of 7 minutes of banging on the slot machine to see how many points you rack up. There is no money inserted but the top 50 get some cash. Needless to say my wife wasn't one. This could cut into your day so make the time. Her particular times were 10 am and 2pm on monday, and tue 10 am. Those were great times so we worked around them.

Lunch was grabbing a sandwich at the Hilton, and killing time before we had to check in at the Sahara.
Dinner was $9 from El Polo loco with coupons from the Ent book.
We saw the Platters, Coasters, and Marvelettes . Once again we got tickets from KSHP.com for $35 for 2 tix- a big savings again. The show was pretty good and had the audience singing. If you are older you will enjoy it. We had a good time but was wondering how many were really original as these groups go back a while. Still for $35 for 2 of us it was good.

    Day 8 9/28
$11 241 pizza at Boston Pizza on LV BLVD. I enjoy this pizza place.
Dinner 241 $ 16 at the Rampart Casino in Summerlin. We wanted to go to Red Rock but stopped here to sign up for free gifts. We asked a lady outside and she said it was a good one so we jumped in. Bottom line is we should have gone to Red Rock. But we got a few free things and I won $50 so ...

    Day 9 9/29
It was the wife's birthday so I had to be reminded several times:)
We went to a late breakfast/lunch at Santa Fe Station. They have a great buffet and we had a 241 and ate for$8 total. Look in the Las Vegas paper daily they have a 241 for any of the Station Casinos. Avoid Palace or Boulder in my opinion though.

On your birthday( your day only) you can place a $25 wager and they will match if you win. We placed $25 at a black jack table and won! The wife got 2 jacks! Cool now she has gambling money for the day! I told her otherwise we wouldn't eat or gamble;) She said thanks for the pressure!
We went back to Binions for dinner. Using their 241 we had the prime rib again. It was fantastic like the first time, a very tender 10 ozs.
Went back to the Sahara and played a little (I mean gambling) lets keep it clean. Then around 9 we went to Luv it ice cream for a sundae. this is 1 block off LV Blvd and Oakey. They make fresh custard and its good! we had a 241 fro the Ent book and $5 for both of us. We got it to go since it was still around 95 and scarfed it up by the time we got back to the room. Its challenging to eat a sundae and drive but I managed. If a kid can text, I can drive and eat my sundae. Plus who could wait while you have ice cream on your mind and its staring at you?:licklips:

    9/30
Gut up at 4:30 and drove back to SD.

Fine succinct report packed with coupon suggestions. I am sorry to hear the Bolder Buffet is downhill. I am also sorry to hear from yet another eater that the Eastside Cannery buffet does not quite make the grade. Thanks for all the frugal tips and evaluations.
