    My Trip Report

While introducing myself to this board, I was welcomed and invited to share my TR. Here goes………….

Each trip presents more obstacles and more planning where to stay and play. I’m walking slow with a cane and go from place to place in a wheel chair. I find the Strip very handicapped friendly with few exceptions.

Sept 1 – Put that wheel chair in back of the truck and left Anaheim at 6am headed to TI. KA and I always leave early and beat any heat on summer drives. Less than 5 hours later we could see the strip skyline off I-15. Before checking in we stopped at M Resort. This was my second visit there so I concentrated on VP. I then went to Silverton Casino Lodge (just south of Mandalay Bay). Visiting an outlining casino always spoils me for all the VP pay tables and table limits I’ll later see on the Strip. Silverton had (FP) JoB and $3 Craps.

My plan was simple. Check into TI for two nights (comped), and spend a day enjoying Encore/Wynn, then Venetian/Palazzo. The early morning wheelchair ride was an ease. From TI to the Fashion Mall and across to Wynn, then past the beautiful exterior in morning shade while headed to Encore. This was my first time at Encore and it’s all others have said it was. KA and I enjoyed the 8/5 BP where we sat next to each other and both hit quad 4’s at the same exact time. There is still $10 craps at Wynn early in the day. Moving on to Palazzo we had lunch at Dos Caminos, with good ambiance and the best fish taco I’ve had. At The Venetian I settled in at a central bar with more BP that was slow but very friendly staff and patrons. The circle completed when back to TI and the Breeze Bar.

Sept 3 – moved to Caesars. Prior to check-in had lunch at Serendipity. I was surprised to find veggie burger on the menu. The veggie burgers were unique and very good with what I think was a black bean base.

I seldom try the $20 trick when given a comped stay, but this time I placed a bill on the counter and simply asked for a room near the Colosseum in either the Centurion or Forum Towers. The young man suggested the Forum Tower
and provided a great room on the top floor (room 6904) with a view of the very place I enjoyed the day before – TI, Encore, Venetian and more.

After check-in we crossed over the bridge to Bills and I played at Flamingo and IP, knowing I can always find $5 craps at IP. I had some good play before back to Caesars.

While KA window shopped at the Forum Shops, I spent the time at Casa Fuente Cigar Lounge. As a regular cigar smoker and have been looking forward to this upscale cigar experience for a while and wasn’t disappointed. There signature Casa Fuente Cigar (made just for this place) was a special treat.

Friday evening with dinner at Mesa Grill followed by Bette Midler, both very near the Forum Tower. Dinner was wonderful. KA had halibut while in had the Cornmeal Crusted Chile Relleno. I found Bette Midler a good performance and particularly liked to graphics and lighting. The Forum casino area provided great entertainment and dining, but the HET gaming was terrible.

After checkout Saturday morning, headed to Rio for a buffet breakfast before the drive home. It’s also a chance for a last dice play. Headed home with no interruptions and only slight evidence of the raging Southern California fires.

Thanks for writing :) The craps info is helpful and have stored it away in my memory bank. Hope it survives in there ;).
