    My Trip Report

    Ahhh, I have returned. I'm going to hurry up and churn this out as I don't want to forget any of it.

    We arrived in Vegas at 7:15. Our plane ride was uneventful. Two of my traveling companions had never flown before but they had a good flight. We found our limo driver from Presidential, Vera, at the baggage area. She was a sweetheart. She helped us with our luggage, told us tales of the MANY things she has seen as a limo driver in Vegas. She's only been doing it for 6 months yet she has SOO many stories to tell! She took a picture of the four of us before we got in the limo and she poured our champagne.

    [IMG]
    [IMG]

    I tried pouring our second glasses, but I was already tipsy from the first and made a mess of it. LOL Good times, I swear.
    [IMG]

    Got to T.I. no problem. I was pretttty tipsy by the time I got there. We didn't need suites because we didn't plan on ever being in the room so no $20 trick needed for the two rooms I'd reserved. I did ask for rooms on a high floor. We were given two rooms on the 30th floor and was very nice to the clerk. Mine and my S/O's was a corner room with a king bed. Two HUGE windows. Dynamite view. <img src=http://i26.tinypic.com/2ns5edf.jpg width=800 height=600 border=0>

    My S/O's sister and her friend were on the same floor but a different hallway. They had a great stripview room.

    We hurry up and got dressed and headed down to catch a cab to go to Rio. We wanted to go to Voodoo Lounge where I had called to put us on the guestlist. Well, the ride was 9.10. I gave the cab driver a 20. He gave me back a ten. I went to give him some ones and he smiled and told me it was no big deal. I asked if he was sure, he said yes. So we headed up to Voodoo. We get there and we are NOT on the guestlist. I'm pissed but the guy at the door lets us in for free anyway.

    My S/O and I purchase a Witch Doctor and I'll be DARNED if that is not the BIGGEST drink I have ever seen. The bartender was a lot of fun, joking around with us.

    [IMG]

    Nobody was at Voodoo yet for the most part. I'd say it was only about 30 people. The music was great, there was a pole outside and the view was phenomenal. S/O's sister, who is SO much fun, got on the pole!

    [IMG]

    All four of us shared the Witch Doctor and were OFF OUR BUTTS drunk. We headed back to our hotel because we were tired after our day of traveling. We ate at our hotel Coffee Shop.

    [IMG]

    S/O and I shared a club sandwich and fries. Pretty good and big portions. There was really no need to order two different things at ANY of the places we ate while we were in Vegas. For those wanting to watch their budgets, that's a good think to keep in mind. Total bill with club sandwich and two drinks was like $16.

    We went to sleep and the beds were great. I especially loved the pillows. We woke up the next day and decided to walk the strip a little. We had breakfast downstairs at Kahunavillw. Again, we split one entree. We shared the steak and eggs and by the end of it, we were stuffed. Bill for that with my pineapple juice and S/O's root beer was about $18. We sat outside to pool-watch while we ate. Service was VERY slow, but we enjoyed the atmosphere.

    We walked down to the rollercoaster at NY,NY and rode that. It was so hot that we decided to take a cab back to the hotel. We met up with our traveling companions and walked with them to the movies by MGM. We watched The Orphan. I know a lot of people don't see the point of going to the movies while in Vegas, but I have a small child at home and I'm a single mother. I don't get the chance to just go to the movies any old time I feel like it. The movie was twisted but good. I won't give anything away - but it's shocking to say the least.

    We at at RA Sushi before getting ready for Mystere, which we had tickets to. Sushi was GREAT. Way better than Social House before it closed. We rushed from there and went to Mystere. The show was awesome. Our tickets were free with the package deal we got. We sat off to the side, second row, first two seats (Section 101, seats 1 and 2). I would have preferred sitting center and further up, but we got a lot of interaction with the characters with where we were sitting. The characters would pop up on the sides and goof around with us. So that was cool.

    We left from there and got ready to go to the Palms for Ghostbar/Moon. It sucked, to say the least. We got there early enough to avoid a crowd. The service there was awesome. The club guys were just very nice and before you did a thing, they did it for you.

    Very friendly. But the music just plain sucked. One of our traveling buddies left early and caught her own cab back. We refused to be stuck in the room and just stayed a while. It got so bad that we went downstairs and decided to call some strip clubs. We called Sapphires and Spearmint Rhino. They both gave me numbers to their limo drivers. I called Sapphires guy - he never answered the phone or called me back. Spearmint Rhino however was very accomodating. They had the driver call me and he came to pick us up within 10 minutes. Awesome guy. Friendly and fun. They told me since it was all girls, we would have to all sit together and stay seated, etc. They sat us at a table with a nice view. S/O and I had been to strip clubs together before. Her sister, who was with us, had not. It was entertaining for all. The girls did a lot of pole tricks and even on a Tuesday night - it was packed. Our waitress was sweet and I got a few drinks...strongest drinks ever. I tipped her well. We had a pretty good time. We stayed for about an hour and a half and then caught a cab back. When leaving, the Spearmint Rhino security guys were a lot of fun. They joked around with us and were very funny.

    We went back to the room and went to sleep. Wednesday morning, we went back to Kahunaville and ate breakfast with our companions. S/O and I didn't split our meals this time. She had steak and eggs and I had an omelette. We left from there and went to Fashion Show Mall, where we spent a lot of time. I really wasn't feeling that great that day. We were supposed to go to Blue Martini but I wasn't feeling good at all. We played penny slots a lot. We aren't big gamblers but that was fun. We split a crab salad at Kahunaville in our hotel for dinner. We ended up going to sleep kind of early.

    Thursday morning, we decided to hit the buffet. Good stuff. Some of the best eggs I've ever had. The omelette I got was great too. We had lunch at Grand Luxe Cafe in Venetian. Split a buffalo chicken sandwich. Also, HUGE portions, so we were both full. For dinner, we had reservations at Maggiano's in Fashion Show Mall. LOVE that place. We split a 10 oz. filet, side of crispy red potatoes and fettucine alfredo. I told them we were celebrating S/O's birthday (and we were) so they brought out a plate of lemon cookies (SOOOO good) with a candle.

    [IMG]

    It was sweet and the view was wonderful. I timed it so that we would be enjoying our food as the sun set. I can't wait to go back there. The steak was cooked perfectly and it was just great.

    We left from there and got ready to go to TAO in Venetian. We stopped at Mist, the bar in our hotel, and had some drinks. FUNNN. We'd made friends with the people working there earlier in our trip and we just had a great time. A waitress took a pic of all four of us for us.
    <img src=http://i27.tinypic.com/w18mdy.jpg width=800 height=450 border=0>
    We loved, Mist and hated leaving..but we knew if we didn't get a move on, the line at Tao would be crazy.

    We walk to Tao and the line is wrapped around the building. We were on the guestlist and still had to wait in an eleventy-billion person line. Finally, some guy comes to make sure our names are on the list. I tellhim that Maggie from PR (whom I'd chatted with previously) put us on the list. I guess she is his boss. He pulled us from the line and let us in. We are thinking "GREAT". Um, no. It is so packed in that club, it's crazy. Great music, but packed. We chilled by some guy's table for a while. He was cool and chatted with us. My friends danced with random guys, lol.

    <img src=http://i28.tinypic.com/jv2hx5.jpg width=600 height=800 border=0>

    It was fun, but just WAYYY too packed. So we left after a while and went to our hotel.We realized that we could get into Christian Audigier, the club in our hotel, for free. So we went. At first, we were like "Umm no." It was like the cast of the show Freaks and Geeks decided to meet up there. BUT, it was less packed, the staff was AWESOME there and the music was even better than TAO's. So one of our group (the same one who left Moon early) decided to leave and play slots. S/O, her sister and I decided to stay and BOY are we glad we did. We had SO much fun. While standing around goofing off, a lady walked up to us and asked us to join her table. She said she and her husband were honeymooning, decided to buy a bottle at the club and had no one else at their table. We agreed to go. I mean, where else but Vegas would this happen? They were the sweetest couple. We hung out, drank their Crown and Coke (lol) and had an awesome time. More pole dancing ensued. We had a BLAST.

    <img src=http://i27.tinypic.com/se7frm.jpg width=600 height=800 border=0>

    It really was the most fun we had in Vegas. The couple was from Burbank and were spending a week on their honeymoon in Vegas. The club wasn't packed so they were kind of bored sitting by themselves. Well, we got the party started at their table. We all drank, laughed, danced, talked and it really was one of the highlights of our trip. The wife told me that her husband was nervous about going to a strip club with her, but that they were going to try it, MAYBE. I encouraged them to go and told them about our fun at Spearmint Rhino. After we were all too drunk to take it anymore, we exchanged numbers with the wife (I SWEAR I'm goign to send her a thank you present), we left. S/O and I were super drunk but we really wanted to eat. S/O's sister wanted to go back to her room where her roomate was asleep. We bid her farewell, went upstairs ourselves and changed and headed to the coffeeshop. This picture sums up how drunk she was...I was, too.

    <img src=http://i27.tinypic.com/123o16u.jpg width=800 height=600 border=0>

    In the morning, we had breakfast at Kahunaville. At this point, I was tired of fancy stuff. I just had raisin bran and milk and juice. We checked out at noon, left our baggage at the bell desk and roamed around a while. I read a book at Fashion Show Mall to pass the time. We weren't getting picked up for our flight til 5.

    <img src=http://i30.tinypic.com/2h714ic.jpg width=600 height=800 border=0>

    We ended up sitting on the plane next to the same people we watched the TI Sirens show with earlier that week (dont know how I forgot to mention that in this TR, but oh well). We got home safely and we are planning another trip for May 2010!

    Unfortunately, I have lupus so I didn't get in the pool. The sun and I don't mix. If you do not have a cabana at TI, then you're stuck on the pool chairs or in the pool with no shade. It's to my understanding that the cabana rentals aren't THAT expensive on weekdays though (think 150 -200). The waitresses outside were dedicated to those cabanas mostly and if you were eating at Kahunaville outside, you'd see them running to those cabanas more than they were taking care of you. I think the next time we go, I will go ahead and get one.

    On Friday, the DJ played really good music so I look forward to going back on at least one weekend day and enjoying that.

    I LOVED TI! LOVED it. The room wasn't the biggest, but we were rarely there. The bathroom was plenty big with a tub big enough to fit two people. It was very deep. Last time I was in Vegas, I stayed at Venetian which was super nice...but super stuffy as well. TI had a good party type vibe going on with a younger crowd. When we go back, we plan to stay there again. I thought about a suite, but I would rather spend that money on a cabana rental and bottle service at a club. I refuse to go back to another major Las Vegas club without bottle service. It was suffocating.

    Also, I read over the trip report and forgot some things I'd planned on mentioning.

    I mentioned the cab driver who took us to VooDoo didn't want a tip. He just kept the 90 cents from the 10 I gave him. Well on the way back TO our hotel from VooDoo, we had a different cab driver. Our friend decided to pay for the cab ride back. It was about 8.00 so she gave him a ten and told him to keep the change. She was about to look for more ones in her purse when he went OFF on us. Told us $2 wasn't a big enough tip. With the first cabbie being grateful over 90cents, my friend thought that $2 would be good and had planned on maybe giving him more if she found more ones while she was sitting there but since he went off, oh well. He just went OFF. Told us to get out of his cab and all sorts of stuff.

    Also, on our last night, while S/O and I were eating drunk in the coffee shop, we saw the honeymooners who invited us to their table run by. I stopped them to thank them again and they told me they were off to Paradise Strip Club. LOL I was happy that they were doing something they had never done before together and I really hope that they had a good time. I plan on texting the wife later this week.

    ETA: I keep remembering stuff. TI had the best facial soap I have ever used...period. I have weird skin. Anything new will break it out. Well, I went ahead and tried their facial soap and fell in love. We called the spa to see if they sold it- just my luck..they dont. So, S/O and I literally asked every housekeeping person we saw if they would give us a facial soap. Almost turned into a contest for us. Here's our pile of goodies!

    Must have been the same crabby-assed cab driver we had last year. Bitched about what I thought was a decent tip and told us to have a crappy day.

    Thanks guys! We really did have a blast. I am looking forward to our return trip. I know for sure we will do bottle service at a major club or else we aren't going to go and I do want to rent a cabana at the pool on one of the days. And we MUST return to Maggiano's. It was unbelievable.
