    My Trip Report

Arrived back from L.V Wednesday 1 July spent two weeks there with temps rising 108 at the end of the second week and predicted higher for the coming days, and were relieved to be going home. Apart from one short stay of three days in August 2007 included in a tour of the West we have not gone so late in the year. Last year we were there in mid May which was more comfortable so next year we will go in April as we intend taking two of our Grandchildren aged 11 and 15 yrs.

I pre booked Mystere Show at Treasure Island, to say what a disappointment this was is an understatement. Not any of the Wow factor you expect from a Circus act going through their routine. The show seems to be run round a very week theme of a child "infant" which was a man dressed up looking for, quote, his Papa appearing through the show in different parts of the Theatre.

The performers were just mediocre what can I call them Tumblers? I have seen better acts at the V Theatre and as support acts at Bally's.

You can tell how good a show as been when you are leaving the theatre people are noisy saying how good it had been and which parts they had liked, No nothing like that just a silence, even me and my Wife did not say a word for some time, I was left deflated.

The show I least expected to get chance to see was the Lovely Bette Middler Show, we were passing late Saturday afternoon at one of the half price ticket sellers and spotted $59 tickets so we thought we are having some of this. Hurriedly we took the Duce to collect them before 6 30, some rush that was, nice little bonus too we were up graded free. The show was great you can't beat the polished performers like her a few F Words but that's Bette you get what’s on the can, she is a regular visitor to the U.K and she does enjoy coming, where she appears on many TV chat shows.

We also went to see the Rat Pack at the Plaza downtown this is also a let down YES they are impersonators but not very good one's with exception of old Blue Eyes he was very good, but Sammy and Deano thumbs down the songs were few with more acting the fool than singing, waste of an evening out. The thing which I thought was a little sad, was after the show people were invited to meet the cast, and line up to have their photographs taken with them, at a charge, would have been A BIG YES with the real Guys.

A word about our stay at Tuscany Suites, I had found this with Expedia, flight and Hotel combined which ran out much cheaper than if I had booked them myself individually. A steady 15 min walk to the Strip, this place was great, rooms very clean and spaces and the room cleaners did an excellent job every day. The restaurant we had a few meals at was also excellent with its menus and service. The 27 acre garden grounds the hotel was set in was relaxing, pool small but enough, and not crowded. One lap pool outside the fitness centre which was as great set up, plenty to tone your body in there. Compared to the large hotels, a friendly environment and relaxing. The Casino well I don’t know much about these as we are not gamblers but I would say it was about twice as big as Hooters Casino, overall I would not hesitate in recommending the place to my friends.

Thanks for posting your TR! Great score on the Bettle Midler tickets! Friends of ours stayed at Tuscany Suites a couple of years ago and also enjoyed it.....the only downside they said was the walk to the strip in the August heat!

Sorry to hear about your disappointment with Mystere; but, you rebounded well with the nice ticket score for Bette Middler and the free upgrade.
