    My Trip Report

First, I want to say thanks to everyone on the board who posted the good and bad about Vegas. That info really helped us to have a good trip.

    Monday 6/29:
We arrived at the airport at 1pm and after getting the luggage, headed for a shuttle. I walked past 3 shuttle places and nobody would give me the time of day when I was obviously looking at their prices. Finally, a guy shouted down at the end. He was with Bell Trans and told me about their services. I bought 2 round trip tickets for $24. Pretty good deal. My wife and I only had to wait about 10 minutes before the shuttle was full...and we were off. Check in at Treasure Island was a breeze. No waiting. I told them it was our 1 year anniversary and we got a comp bottle of champagne and an upgrade to a room with a strip view. The room was awesome. It had new everything, the tv was flat screen and there was even an iPod dock. The bathroom was marble. This was a great room, it did not disappoint.

    Tuesday 6/30:
We walked around the strip some. Visiting the Venetian and the Palazzo. We went to the pool and then it was time to go to dinner at the Steak House. The Steak House is in TI and it was expensive. Our bill was $118 without tip. But we felt like splurging, so it was all good. Then we went to Cirque de Soleil's "Mystere". It was also playing at TI. It was $91 for 2 tickets, that was a great price. We sat near the top, but there wasn't a bad seat in the house. Great show.

    Wednesday 7/1:
This time we went further down the strip. Mirage, Caesars, Bellagio, Flemingo, Harrahs, Paris, and Ballys. We checked them all out and gambled some. We came back late to the hotel and had dinner at the buffet in TI. It was $50 for two of us. The buffet wasn't bad, but there was a lot of Asian food each time. Also saw the Sirens of TI....

    Thursday 7/2:
We visited the Lion and Dolphin exhibit at the Mirage. Its great if you have kids and want to take them. We ate at BLT burger there. 2 people = $45.
Then we took a taxi to MGM Grand. Looked around there and NYNY. We also took the monorail from MGM Grand to Harrahs and walked the rest of the way to the hotel. Had dinner at the Pizzeria in TI. It was good, but again pricey. 2 people = $42

    Overall:
We had a great time. My advice is to take plenty of money for food as the prices are high. TI was an awesome hotel and I would totally recommend this hotel for any couples with children. The only downside to Vegas was all the traffic. There is construction everywhere, so be prepared when estimating arrival times.

Great trip report. I will be at TI starting next weekend. I plan on splurging a couple times, but will eat at the food court at the mall a couple times to conserve funds. Also, I am going to rent a car. Hopefully driving to a few places off strip will help me save meal money.

    Thanks again

Try buying a American Casino Guide - a ton of coupons that will save you money on meals, buffets. Ellis Island behind Ballys on Koval is also a great inexpensive place to eat & drink. Check out Restaurant.com also. Good luck.

That was nice of TI to give you a bottle of champagne when you mentioned it was your anniversary and upgrade your room. It's nice to see that trying to make a special occasion very special and not charging for it hasn't gone by the wayside because of the economy.

    Thanks for all the replies.

TI was a great hotel and if my wife and I go back in the future, we will be staying there for sure.

Great trip report! Food can be very pricey...it took me 3 trips to learn where the "cheaper" eateries were.

I have never stayed at TI when it was Treasure Island, but I would certainly consider it when I stay on the strip again.

    Thanks for sharing.

tix4tonight also sells meal deals for many restaurants. Check them out online or stop in next time in Vegas. There is an outlet in Fashion Show Mall and one between PH and MGM. I think somewhere downtown too.
