    My Trip Report

Stayed at the Homewood Suites at the airport again this year. Works out great only 4 mins to the airport-parking garage. Supposed to leave for the airport at 9:30 at 9 am my vertigo is in full swing and I am in tears trying to figure out if and how to cancel everything that late. Triple medicated myself and went anyways…worked out okay for the most part.

Long line at MHT (Manchester, NH), very unusual…long security line too but all went well and we took off on time 11:35 am EST. Only 97 people on the plane so scored an empty between us. Instead of the 5 hours 40 mins we landed 20 mins early…yeah!!!

Straight to baggage claim no wait at the taxis…no traffic because cab wasn’t bad $15 + tip to Paris and $10+ going back on Sat.

Check in at Paris no line at Platinum, originally booked a red room premier comped... tried a $100 sandwich asking if she had any suites available (talking 5 nights here)…she said she wasn’t allowed to accept up front and went out back to see what she could upgrade me for and to. She came back and said we could have a petite suite…I said…is that a Lemans? She said yes. On the 4th floor room 475P. I asked her how much and she said no charge. If you had read my earlier post you would know I gave her a $50 instead of the $100….tired…drugged up…thinking bottom floor probably a dump. Walked into room and LOVED it. I then felt guilty for showing her a $100 and giving her a $50. The next day I went to check in to find her…told her how much I loved the room and was so tired and not thinking the day before…that I felt guilty for what I tipped her and please take this…putting a $50 in her hand…she didn’t even see what I put in her hand….but she gushed all over the place saying I didn’t need to give her more and ran around her desk and came out and hugged me.

Room is somewhere between 800-1000 sq ft. large walk in shower, huge whirlpool tub (takes forever to get the water level high enough) fridge in the wet bar. Very comfortable room. From what I had read before leaving the upgrade charge for these rooms is $85 night…I would gladly pay that if I were starting out with a comped room to begin with. View stinks but we don’t care…we like roomy and comfy.:nworthy:

Terry Fator was good Tuesday night----although we wish we had gone with Bette instead just because Obama was there that night. First row was way too loud and vibrating for my vertigo…couldn’t wait for it to end…just because of the way I was feeling. Got to go to the VIP line for the meet and great after the show…he signed our pix…I told him how much we enjoyed him on Americas Got Talent and how we voted for him every time. Hubby just stood there like a lump.

Thursday night we did Madame Tussauds used the 2 for 1 from destination coupons. Worth the $25 for 2 but wouldn’t have wanted to pay the $50. Those coupons are only good after 7 pm. Paid $20 for the 5x7, key chain and fridge magnet pix with Obama.

Friday Ultimate Manilow…we always time our trip to see him. Every year he gets more and more hoarse so if this is a show you want to see I would say you better hurry. Wonder if he will make the rest of his contract…throat problems this year and last when we went. The revamped show is pretty much some of his standards along with “Here at the Mayflower†songs. If you are thinking of going you might want to listen to some of the songs off of that CD first. YES, we are major Fanilows no matter how hoarse he is getting. 5th row center on the aisle…great seats.

    Gambling

Stunk at all HET properties. Only good hits I got were 2 at MGM, 1 at Mirage and 1 at Bellagio….maybe I shouldn’t play where I stay LOL.
Best hit was a $1 triple strike at MGM for $1080.
Hubby couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn…but played 3card poker for real…for the first time and enjoyed it.

    Food

    Planet Hollywood dinner Monday great
    Tues Mirage buffet lunch great
Weds Tropical Breeze? Café at Flamingo.. B+ giant portions
Thursday Paris lunch buffet …first time for that…pretty good
Fri Planet Hollywood lunch buffet not as good as Monday
    Sat Paris buffet…very good breakfast

JJs , McDonalds,Osheas snacks and light fare. Very good….JJs Boulangere sp? Tended to have some idiots working but food was okay except when they ran out of diet Pepsi.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We usually go to Vegas in early April…last week of May was too hot. My illness and weight gain killed me with the heat. Even hubby who runs everyday had a broken back by the time we left. 3 day monorail pass helped…. doesn’t really cut out that much walking but kept us out of the heat. Well worth the $56 for 2 for 3 days. Especially since we always hit the Hilton twice, MGM whenever we want and hike over from the Hilton to Slots a Fun.

Hit the Marguerittaville t-shirt sale buy 3 get 1 free. 2 Manilow t-shirts half price and of course souvenirs for the grands.

I am writing this on Weds and I still have broken knees and back from all the walking LOL.

Sat flight left on time supposed to be 5 hours home got in 20 mins early. Almost full plane but still got an empty between us. NO I did not do anything to discourage anyone from sitting there…just got lucky.:nono:

EVERYONE at the hotels and casinos were extremely grateful for any and all tips and very nice. Only snobby idiots were the time share people…the ones on the sidewalk yelling at me that tourism in Vegas is down 32% and WE should make up for the slack…wanted to slap him with the tone he was using!!

Vertigo did flare up during shows, walking in the heat and sometimes at the slots…just medicated and sat for a while and it died down.

Barry pic not great...hubby took movies instead of stills that night
Hubby is a trekky geek, hence the Picard picture
Pictures don't do room justice...it seems much bigger when you are in it then the pictures show...bathroom also.
Yes that is my husband, I know we look like siblings...or after 31 years we grew to look alike. :rolleyes2:

Nice report and thanks for the pics. I'm glad you were able to find the clerk that checked you in, and how sweet of her to actually show gratitude. I have noticed a bit of a turnaround with attitude at Harrahs' properties over the last 6 - 7 months.

I loved Ronn Lucas, so I'm hoping to catch Terry Fator soon.

Thanks for the pics. I LOVE that bath. I'll have to ask for a LeMans next I stay at Paris....and that pic of you with Obama at Madame Tussaud's - looks like the real thing.

LOL at your comment about hubby the lump. Sounds like my guy. Why are men like that?????

Even with your vertigo, bad knees and hubby's aching back, you still had a good time. Good deal.

Thanks for taking the time to post and telling us all about it.:nworthy:

I'm glad you found the girl who checked you in and gave her the rest of the tip. I'm amazed at how well your travel with vertigo; that's got to be debilitating at times. It does sound like you had a real good time even though the gambling gods didn't smile on you as they should have.
