    My Trip Report

Another wild ride in the book.as i mentioned in the last TR i'm not supposed to go Vegas until
next year due to my Wife pregnancy.but after Mirage sent me an invitation by postal mail, two
invitations via email and a letter from my Host, plus my Birthday just passed by... my Wife wants
me to go for this Win,Place or Show slot Tournament.well,,,i have no choice but go
    right? *wink wink*

    PRE-TRIP PLANNING

    GET THERE:
if you earn 16 credits with SouthWest Airlines, they'll give you a free round trip fare anywhere
they fly.i was at 14 credits, needed 2 more to make it...so 2 trip ago in December i rent a car
with Budget via Southwest website which will give me enough credits for free flights.but after
    3 months i didn't see the credits posted so i call Budget...what a bunch of boneheads.after
being transfer 3 times and talked to several peoples, they telling me that they forgot to post and
promise to do that right away.but that will take up to 8 weeks to process.mean
while,Southwest took 4 credits away because i didn't earn the 16th by due date so now i'm
standing at 10 credits.i will never rent a car with Budget again,EVER. i don't like to bitch about
freebies but in this case they just flat out screw up which cost me a lot of time, headache and
stress.so anyway, enough of the bitching...i booked a round trip fare of $110 plus tax & fees.

    STAY THERE:
got in touch with my lovely Host at the Mirage and this is what She'll do for me... send a Limo to
pick me up at airport, put me in a Tower Suite, give me $500 freeplay to warm up,pair of tickets
to see Pacquiao VS. Hatton closed circuit viewing and will pick up my dining bills during
    stay.sweet huh?
i want to maximize this trip by using freebies offers so went to check to see what available on
those days.Hosts from NYNY and Monte Carlo sent me emails invited to stay at their Casinos
with i never did, combined with Bellagio,Tresure Island,Mandalay Bay are very much the same...
Suite,Limo,Freeplay,Dining,Show.but because they are in the same Group, using the same
card,i did not book any of them...unless i plan to play to their expectation at each property or i
don't want to see more offers from them in the near future.
Venetian/Palazzo offers up to 4 nights,$75 freeplay and $25 dining credit.kinda sad but i do
have $325 cash back in my account so i go ahead booked 2 nights at Palazzo.
Wynn/Encore offers up to 3 nights plus $200 freeplay.i wanted to check out Encore room but
none available on those dates and only Thursday night available at Wynn,so i took that.
HET properties offers up to 4 nights with some little freebies but must be booked during weekdays,
    so i pass it up.

    THURSDAY 4/30

Get out of work early at noon,go home had a nice lunch with Wife and Kid.get pack (yeah,i always
do it right before i go) go pick up the in-law Mom,Bro,Sis... the whole army.they are staying at my
house while i'm gone.as i say goodbye,my little 1 1/2 yrs Son crying and just won't let me go.
there's a special bond between us He just want me to be around Him forever,i almost shed tears
as i walked away.i can tell you this...i'll never go alone without Him again.
15 minutes drive to the airport, parked in the remote parking, right away the shuttle bus pick me up to
the airport.security check in was easy as 1 2 3.got to the gate 35 minutes early (oh,i printed the
boarding pass night before, group A) the plane leave the gate right on time and pull in the gate
    at LV 10 minutes early.
the flight was a long 2400 seconds (that's 40 minutes) as usual,as i finish my drink we prepare for
r landing.brought only my laptop and 1 carry on so no baggage claim.as i walk down the stair,
Kevin was standing there with my name on a sign.my Host sent him to pick me up in a stretch Limo.
He was very helpful with my bag so after the ride,a big tip for him.VIP check in was done in about
5 minutes, everything was ready for me.pick up my tournament schedule and my welcome letter,
walk to my Suite it's on floor C (28th floor) suite #62 way down the hall as i mention i want to stay
far away from the elevator.it's a 1 bedroom Tower Suite.dated with tube TVs still but very roomy.
welcome gift basket and refreshment already in the suite.couples of members asked about the Tower
suite so i'm going to post a few of pix here for them:

after settle in i wrote a quick note, went back down to the VIP check in (no,not for checking out LOL.) asked for
an envelope and a stamp then mail the old casino token that i promised to send him to a board member
Jack(JACKINCO) then i took the tram to TI to meet with another member Moira(LVFAN) because i will
give her Palazzo room for 2 nights.few minutes later she arrived with her friend,we walk to the Palazzo to check in,the line is
not that crowded but it took for ever to get moving.when i book the room i ask for 1 king non-smoke
but she actually prefer 2 queen smoking so i ask the clerk he replied "we do have that but it's $35 extra"
but after he look at my account and see i have a welcome note from the Host,he said "i'll let you have it
for free" whatever man.so.... i hand her the room keys and we split.i walk over to Wynn to check in there
got a room on 26th floor which has a very nice view.

lay down on bed to rest a bit and the phone rang...
the friend who is driving up to have this room is here in the casino,so i come down to give him the keys.
walk to the red card club to have they load $200 freeplay on the card.got $100 back on those free plays
then loose it back plus some more in 1 hour span.got up go to Encore to check it out...um,not sure if i
like this casino, just don't have that feeling you know? proceed to loose some more on slots and then
got this hit on a $1 "Lion dance" machine.

now is almost 2 am so i walked back to the Mirage break even.temp was really nice at night.
    quick shower,sleep.

    FRIDAY 5/1

Woke up at 9:00am took a quick shower then walk to Wynn, went up to my friend room and he already
order some in room breakfast waiting for me.after the meal i proceed to video check out then my friend
drive over to MGM to check in another 2 nights there.meanwhile,i play some slots at Wynn...boy it was bad
lost 1k there without hit anything over $50.
walk back to Palazzo to get my $325 cash back from last year:
-nope,you don't have any cash back.
-huh? what? last time i checked i have $325 in there.
-sorry but if you don't redeem that at the end of the year then it's gone.
-what? what? well then let me have my $75 freeplay and $25 food credit
look at the $25 coupon it said $25 off when you dine at "...forgot...." restaurant with minimum of $50 spent
wow... i tear it apart and throw it away...this is sad...this is the place who treated me like a King before.
    so i'm standing there with a whopping $75 freeplay. hey,once at the Venetian i hit a 20k jackpot on a $25
machine and it happened on the 3rd spin.could history repeat itself? before i finish yawning,RedBull gave
    that $75 wings,it fly away.
move over to the Venetian to play some slot.win some but nothing big.got a nice little hit on
    this nickel "Mayan Riches" machine.

cash out got up walk to "Noodle Asia" locate inside Venetian for my
favorite "Wonton soup noodle" but for some reason they were close..
back to the Mirage at 1pm went straight in the "Craving" the buffet.didn't like it...almost everything was
too salty and over-cooked.up to the room, got a quick shower (LOL. i shower a lot in Vegas...before heading
down to feel fresh and after leaving the casino floor to get rid of the smoking smell).relax a bit reading news
paper while waiting for my in room massage session.if any of you want a good relaxing in room massage,PM
me and i can give you her contact infos (this is non-sexual,non-sensual massage.no funny business) She's
a young beautiful massage therapy who worked for wynn before.it's $100/hr but sometime she discount down
    to $85/hr.
after the massage, took a quick nap then went down for late register.came in did 2 session at 15 minutes each.
the outcome points were not that good at all.during tournament play, they served snacks and drink.saw couple
of peoples from the last tournament....
back out on the casino floor for some action.again, win few hundreds here, loose few hundred there.this $1 "Coyote Moon"
    hit was the biggest hit.

back to the Venetian for shopping, wanted to buy my Son a pair of Vans shoes but couldn't find it.i'll stop by a Vans store
near home to get them.swing by the food court to grab a slice of cheese pizza before heading back to Mirage for the third
and final round of tournament play at 11:00am.didn't do any better.little bit of slot play outside,nothing....go up to the room
to rest, back down at 2:30pm for the award banquet

the foods were awesome.i think i finished like half dozen of gigantic crab legs and dozen of raw oysters.they were all
small, right size bite...little lime juice and some hot sauce on top and i'm all for it.live jazz band playing music.after everyone
very much full with foods, they announce the winners.in this tournament, there're 3 separate sessions for 3 separate
payouts.well,i didn't do any good on all three.finished in the last brackets for the total of $750 in freeplay.this is what i
do expect could happen before decided to go for this tournament,so that's totally fine with me.they did give me a lucky
$25 chip to bet on the Kentucky Derby while watching it on big screen here at the banquet.

i know NOTHING about horse racing,nada... so what i did was look for horses that has a long shot.there're like 4 or 5 of
them with 50/1 odds.so i just pick 1 out of the blue. #18 No Where To Hide. it is a very long shot but if this horse win i
would have cash in $1250 or something like that.the race itself is really short but pretty exciting.as it comes out it was
one of the historic races,1 of the 50/1 long shot horses (no not my horse) it was "Mind That Bird" that came from near
bottom of the race to make up the difference and then won the race by a long distance.what amazing is that horse
did it only in the very last stretch of the run...covers so much ground in very little time.i bet many many horse betting
peoples including professionals got really pissed off,and some guys like me won big.
we hanging around having a coffee chatting about gambling for awhile then come 5:00pm ...i supposed to meet with
a board member Mike (FOZZYBEAR) (time was move from noon to 5 due to the tickets distributing time). i believe i
was 5 minutes late to the spot and there i met Mike and his lovely Wife Nicola, they are vacationing from the UK.
we walk to the ticket booth to get my envelope which contain 3 door tickets and 3 wristband for food/drink.then
they goes back to their hotel to get change (i believe they stop by after a shopping trip) meanwhile i came out to the
    casino floor for some actions.
almost 7:00pm i came back to the Mirage event center where the party was held.i'm telling ya...that place is HUGE'
easily fits 10,000 in there.hundreds of tables with 12 chairs each.and i think it's 100% filled, peoples are running around looking for chairs

Took me a while to locate Mike.well there was a corner where they separate out by some fences for the VIP seating.
it has some additional 60" plasma TVs and self-serve gourmet foods, drinks.from what i understand we were suppose to
seat in there but they didn't let us in.look to find my Host and she still out on the casino floor.i called her and no answer
(later found out her Cell battery drained out and she was charging it).right before the main event fight i found her in the
VIP section.she apologized for the ticket booth mess up the wrong wrist bands and invited me in,but i said my friends
and i sitting out there and pretty much comfortable there so no need to move.back to my seat for the singing of National
Anthems.excitement built as the crowd roars to each song.i would say Manny's fans out number Ricky's fan by 3 to 1
mostly young crowd of Filipinos.now i'm not a huge boxing fan,do watch a little now and then but nothing too crazy.
for no reason and without study the two fighters,i picked Manny...but did not place any bet on that.in my mind i would think
it should last at least 8 rounds.but after the 1st knock down in the 1st round,i said to myself "it might end sooner then that.
not long after came the 2nd knock down.then before i know it in the 2rd BAAAM... that was it.what a punch... for a few
minutes i thought Ricky is in deep trouble as i see him laying there with his eyes blinks like he gonna pass out, scary moment.
then soon enough he was up on his feet and the crowd clapping cheering, including Manny's fans.that's very sportmanship.
after the fight i said good bye to Mike and Nicola and wish them well.here's a picture of them with their permission to post
    .
    .
    .
    .
Then i track down my Host say good bye to her, thanks her for what she've done before she leave her shift.
back out on the floor for last shot at Ladyluck ...she was nowhere to be found.
go back to the room at 11:00pm shower and sleep
wake up call at 8:30am shower, pack, video check out and walk down to the north entrance where my Limo was sitting there
waiting.short drive to airport, got my boarding pass and i was 50 minutes early.the airport is almost as busy as before Christmas
day, really packed.my plane came 5 minutes late but got delay on taxi line for like 35 minutes.back home after 45 minutes flight.

    POST-TRIP THOUGHTS

-i'll never go without my Family again and that could mean a long time from now,for the 1st time i missed them dearly this trip.
-i think this is the 4th or 5th losing trip on the roll for me,that's a bad streak...so taking a long vacation wouldn't be a bad idea.
looking at it this way...because this trip i didn't win anything big, that kinda bore me somewhat which it good for me to take times
off...imagine i won some big one this trip? i would want to come back in a few weeks. i did got what i want which is a get away,
relaxing and do whatever i want to do.hehehe
-i felt like i didn't gamble enough but my Host still went all out to treat me over the top.i need to find her mailing address so i can send her a gift.
-found myself liking to play any of video reel slots which features Free Spins & Stacked wilds such as "Mayan Riches" "Wolfs run" "Lions Dance" "Coyote Moon" "Lil' Lady" "Wild Wolfs" ect...

-hotel offer to Tania which didn't happen --- $0
-hotel offer and fight ticket to Jack which didn't happen --- $0
-hotel offer and in-Vegas gift to Bonnie which didn't happen ---$0
-a piece of valuable advice about Host for Debbie...i mean Blondie ---$0
-an old casino chip to Jack ---$0
-1 night at Wynn for Jimmy ---$0
-2 nights at Palazzo for Moira ---$0
-2 tickets to boxing fight party for Mike ---$0
-making some Friends in stead of Enemies by doing that --- PRICELESS

that's is and that's all folks
    hope you enjoyed it

Love the report! The strip and the casinos looked pretty empty...was that just early in the day or is it really not that crowded right now?

Very nice. I see the Mirage Tower Suites still look the same. My wife likes them better than the ones at the Bellagio. I see you had a few wins while you were there.
