    My Trip Report

Starting off, our flights both to and from LV were very good with no problems. The rental car facility in LV is the best, it is so easy to pickup and drop off the cars and just makes travel easier. Weather was fantastic with temps in the high 60's and leaving Buffalo in single digits was a great relief. Well all that was nice but losing at the machines, really was a bummer. This was the first time we have stayed at the Monte Carlo and taking our two boys we asked for ajoing rooms and had to wait until 5pm so they gave us a strip view which was a bonus since I won't pay extra for that. Yes the construction can be heard from City Center but they try not to do to much from midnight till 5 am so all you really her are back up beeps from the different equipment being used. As for the Monte Carlo, everything I have read on it prior to going has been accurate. The people working there are very friendly and very accomodating. The cleaning staff works hard and we had no problems with the cleaning of the rooms. Anything we asked for we got in a timely manor. Yes the rooms need a make over and the carpet is worn in some areas but overall the hotel is very nice and we would stay there again. The casino is nice with it's layout but it doesn't carry the newest slot machines, such as Star Trek, Wizard of Oz and Indiana Jones so that was a little depressing, also a limited amount of video poker machines. As I read it seems to be a casino for the older set and that I would agree, but I still played my normal amount and yes did loose my budget. Comps were easy to get, so we ate breakfast and dinner free at the buffet and their buffet was very good and I feel it's very underrated. We had a good time taking three Vegas Virgins around showing them downtown freemont street experiance, Red Rock canyon and also Hoover Dam. We did see the Rat Pack is Back at the Plaza and this show was great, definately recommend this show and if you go to the half price ticket booth the ticket is $36. Sitting in this show you just think what it was like back in the 1960's watching these guys, great time. we also saw the Comedy Stop show at the Trop. which really was funny and a decent price. We took the newbees to see Mac King at Harrahs which is a must for Vegas Virgins. Finally we saw the Price is Right show which was very entertaining but we didn't get called up to play. All in all this was a really nice trip because mainly the weather was great and we ate some great meals. What else is there to say, but when is the next trip planned.

Thanks for the report. I've only tried Monte Carlo's buffet for breakfast and I usually don't get a full sense of the overall quality of a buffet unless I go for lunch or dinner. I'd like to try their lunch buffet some day to compare. I kinda like the casino too. It's more of that classic casino feeling. It actually took me 4 trips to finally set foot in it though but I'm glad I finally did.

I haven't stayed at the MC in three years but I did like it and liked the layout. There was no way I could get lost in it. I thought they had remodelled all the rooms a year or so ago?

Regular rooms have not been touched since maybe 02/03? It was the monaco suites that were redone a year ago.
