    My Trip Report

The annual before Xmas trip for myself and my sister Mary. We bought the airfare back in Sept.
The most I ever paid, about 425 each roundtrip. I pulled the trigger then because with uncertainity of
oil prices I thought they might even go up. That was the first, but not last bet of the trip that I lost.
8 nights, 2 at Paris at 60 a night, 2 at Rio at 50 a night, and 4 at the Palms thru 3rd party Tripres.com
about 350 but it included an upgrade to the Palms Fantasy Tower.

Hotels: Paris was a bit of a disappointment. Don't get me wrong, still nice, but not the WOW factor
that I expected. Rio was great as always, probably the nicest rooms. Nice view of the mountans.I was very happy with the Palms Fantasy Tower Rooms way up on the 35th view. A really fanstasic view of the mountains to the left and the Strip on the right.

Food: Bellagio lunch buffet was a highlight, as was the Prime Rib Loft at the Orleans. Ellis Island steak
special was great as usual. Golden Gate Shrimp Cocktails awesome as was the Bread Pudding at Carson
City Cafe in the Golden Nugget. Rio Buffet was great, especially the Gelato for dessert. Peppermill great.
Blueberry Hill for pancakes was great. Also had Garduno's in the Palms and a real great place for
breakfast, pricey, but fantastic was Bouchon at the Venitian. Finally got to experience Mon Ami Gabi at
Paris, and of course La Creperie there and the always wonderful Paris Buffet.

Shows: Jubillee, La Cage, Blue Man Group, Jersey Boys, and Love.
My sister did not realize Jubilee featured bare breasted women until we were seated. SURPRISE!
I showed her the ticket where it said " topless extravaganza ". LOL! It was good.
La Cage was great. Joan Rivers kills! Blue Man Group, my third time, I loved it, and sis Mary I believe
was okay with it. The hit of the trip for both of us was Jersey Boys. Frankie Valli was maybe a little before my time, and his music was never cool enough for me to go out and buy a CD of his, even though I always liked most of his songs, until I saw this show. Double CD now mine. LOVE was great but we both
ranked it third of the Cirque show we had seen behind Mystere and KA. They did feature the music which
was good, but I felt for a lot less money I could have put on a Beatle CD and smoked a joint and got
    the same effect!

Movies: Seven Pounds, Bolt, Yes Man, Slumdog Millionaire, Caddilac Records, Nothing like the Holidays,
and Four Christmasses. I liked them alls with Yes Man on the bottom and Slumdog at the top.
Caddilac Records was good. Very interesting. Bolt was cute. the 2 Xmas movies were entertaining and
Seven Pounds was good too. Liked them all.

Gambling: Well, bottom line, it was the worst loss tripwise ever for me. I had some good runs, but you have to know when to quit and I have evidently not learned that lesson yet. My last bet of the trip I stuck 50 bucks in a video BJ machine intending to play 5 or 10 bucks a hand when I hit max play. Uh...it said I bet the whole 50. Okay. Fine. 16 agaist the dealer 3. I liked my chances. Dealer 17, lose and time to go home.
    Video Poker minus 615.00
    Football minus 189.00
    Blackjack plus 25.00
    Craps minus 156.00
    Video Blackjack minus 25.00
    Video Roulette minus 100.00
    Slots plus 95.50
    Basketball plus 15.20
Included in the above was 9 matchplays resulting in a 50.00 loss for match play
at the Palms I had a 10 dollar MP out, pushed out 10 more in a double down situation, my one card
was a face card resulting in 21 for me. The dealers flips over several cards to also have 21. PUSH.
I play it again and lose.

Total Gambling Loss: minus 949.30 A new personal record for me.

    Food 380.72

    Tips 85.50

    Souvenirs 165.25

    Misc 66.66

    Movies 71.50

Shows About 600.00 ( estimate but really close )

    Car Rental about 155

    Gas 18.00

Coupon Saving at least 141.70 and there may have been some I forgot about.

Keeping track of my expense as I went along was easier than ever. Instead of the old paper and pen
method, I simply whipped out my new shiny handy dandy Iphone 3G and voice recorded it.

    Thoughts and Musings:

Missed Circus Circus Steakhouse yet again.

By far and away the fewest people ever there. NO lines for anythng including Buffets.

I need to play more BlackJack.

The Palms is still my favorite casino.

The more I go, the less enthusiasm I have for making coupon runs. After a few days of running
around, I just want to relax and driving miles for a 5 dollar match play does not excite me.

I am still looking for my first Royal. There were no 4 Aces hit on DB this trip. Lots of 4 of a kinds for me
    though.

My sister, who only plays VP just about, only hit ONE 4OK the WHOLE freaking trip. Incredible.
What a drought. Oh yeah, she had her first losing trip I believe. Welcome to the real down and dirty
    world of gambling honey!

    I still love Vegas.
