I'm taking it for a simple business transaction/ contract that these two individuals agreed upon. He would pay $500 for her services, and she would service him. IMO, it is the same as any other (car service, housekeeping, etc.) service that I'm paying for.
I joke but on a more serious note, I would have to agree w/ you 100% Angelchick. As someone else mentioned; "Karma", "just doing what's right" or whatever you want to call it. If a lady of the evening (or morning as the OP had said) performs a service for a price agreed upon and the recipient "stiffs" (no pun intended) her.. that kind of goes against what is "right" in the circle of life. You just never know why a person is doing what they do for a living and most of the time it doesn't matter or is not our business. What goes around, comes around or... anybody ever heard of "treat others as you would have them treat yourself". OK...back to Hooker stories!!
Well, usually the hookers who are so blatantly dressed (undressed?) don't rate a $500 payment. At most she might have filched it. It is possible ofcourse that a 'john' used it but most of those girls have learned all those scams. Merely offering such a chip might well bring out a straight-edge razor! If she was working for an agency, she would run a risk by trying to cash the chip. If she had a pimp she would run an even greater risk by trying to cash a chip. Now the well-dressed and subtle ones who drape themselves around the casino bars or even venture into the gaming area are probably smart too. So whether this happened recently or not I don't know but the story has been around for a long time.
I was in Vegas for my first time (1981) because my dad won a trip and my mom couldn't go, so I went. We were having a late supper in Denny's on the Strip after a show, and two young hooks approached our table right in Denny's! They were about my age at the time (19), and they propositioned him right in front of me! He said, "I'm sorry, girls. I'm having supper with my daughter." They proceeded to look me up and down (if looks could kill!), and replied, "Sure, she's your daughter..." and swayed away. Granted, my dad was about 50 and quite handsome, but I sure was mortified to think they thought I was honing in on their territory! Later that trip, we were outside the Flamingo, and we watched a "more experience lady of the evening" (she looked about 90, which meant she was probably about 45 -- it's hard to judge when you are 19) troll for business. She wasn't having much luck until an old boy who really was close to 90 struck a deal with her. I have pictures of her standing alone, then cutting the deal, and then walking away arm in arm with the guy. Hilarious! I should scan them and post them. Recently, hubby and I were at Planet Ho (no pun intended), and he was approached at one of the bars there. He got a chuckle out of it and his ego was all puffed up for a couple days. He paid nothing and still got "stroked"! Ha. And I agree with others in this thread: it's fun to play "spot the hooker"!
Yeah...I was 19 and not scared of much...we were laughing so hard that it's a wonder I could keep the camera at all still! I will start looking for those pics and get them up here once I find them...that will be the "trick" (tee hee) -- to find them! :evillaugh

The Following is just told to me by various Hookers I've talked w/ while on vacation in VEGAS. I play alot of late nite bartop VP --- hence I'm in THEIR TERRITORY. I can't make this stuff up !....I'm not this good a writer ! . . . A Hooker I would see at the casino bar at Rio - and I'll admit....she was hot !...I noticed her on several trips. I used to stay there frequently. . She told me ( remember these are her words ) she used to get excited when Shaq O'Neil came into town. I guess, Shaq was her most famous client - and there is a "pecking order" amongst hookers as to who "had the company" of these celebrities. It was a BIG DEAL to her as she was telling me. ????........????.......I acted like I understood. Gee......I wouldn't have known ?......how PROUD ......? ...huh ? Anyway - Shaq........would have a BUNCH of girls.......not just her. So....now I know where a lot of that large contract $$$$ goes. And they would have a party. She couldn't wait for him to call her up. I guess that gig paid well ? . . Also - She said "Her father was in 'Law Enforcement' in Texas." I'm thinking this was some form of "protection" if I was to partake of her services. . . . A year later - I see her at the same Rio casino Bar --- Go to the VP bartop - up behind her at the next chair - ( w/her french cut, black undies riding up above her jean's waistline. She's a HOOKER !,....remember ?), . And say to her..... "So...have you seen Shaq lately ?" She spins around + stares me down ! I just keep playing VP -- not looking. "How do you know that ?" I explained our year ago conversation..... She gave me her new number right away --- thinking I was a former client ! . . . . At San Remo ( Hooters) years ago - A hooker is really drunk + arguing over her cellphone w/ her pimp/boyfriend. She asks me - as she sways on her barstool -- "Where am I ?" I laughed.....I wouldn't tell her where she was ! Some other people started telling her.....and I waved them off. Sorry... I wanted some entertainment while I played VP ! She started telling me how tough she was -- cos she was from a tough neighborhood in Harlem ( NYC ). I'm from NY -- I asked "Where in Harlem ?" She named some avenue -- I answered "There are NO AVENUES in Harlem !" She meekly told me she was actually from "the suburbs". I laughed my ass off ! Now this is VEGAS ENTERTAINMENT ! . She wouldn't leave me alone - after a while - she was havin' some laughs too. .
I gotta say the whores have been more aggressive over the past 5 or 6 years. When I started going 20 years ago you really had to hunt out the pros, but now you can't swing a dead hooker with out knocking over a half dozen others hustling for johns. I once had a string of really bad luck at the dice tables so it was a choice of: go lose some more money at a craps table OR sit in room and be bored and broke but not get any more broke than I already was. The trouble is: its hard to find something to do in a crappy room at a crappy casino. So I wound up flipping through the yellow pages and counted 37 pages under the category Entertainers. Almost all the ads were the same: a name a thumbnail photo and a claim that they were "not an agency". 37 pages! What is it about Vegas that would support so many hookers? Men who win money would rather take a disease home to the wife than their winnings home to the wife??? Men who lose money would rather console themselves with some over-priced hooker than some booze???
I think Vegas is just honest about what it is. There are hookers in every big city in the world, they're just hidden better. Besides, what's the difference between meeting some broad and taking her out for drinks and dinner and not even getting a handy. At least with a whore you know your $80 will be well spent.
