    great report!

    sounds like a classic trip!

always good to come out a winner in gambling AND side bets with friends.....the Palms penthouses sound incredible---just checkout out the website and see $5,000 a night during the week......for that I think that Sphinx better be in the hot tub with you!

YoungGun, hilarious stuff about the klepto. As for Palms, it was midweek and I'd say it wasn't that bad at all. Actually, my only gripe with it is that it's so much a local's joint during the week that the lively vibe and atmosphere of a casino filled with vacationers isn't there. On Tuesday night (their big club night), there wasn't any more ******baggery over most strip resorts. But, I was also there two Saturdays ago for a very brief stint and yeah, it was pretty bad. I wouldn't say it was to the point as you described, but not the kind of atmosphere I enjoy at all. I left by 7pm so who knows how much worse it could have gotten.

BeeeJay, actually, the unit I saw was the $3000 midweek penthouse. Still a bit much though. I have yet to contact that private owner (he owns the $5000 unit), but I'm praying for a miracle :).

Betsy Johnson has actually been around for years, and she is known for her funky designs...primarily dresses. I would not put her in the same category, and she is not only LA based...in fact, her major start started in SoHo in NY and has just recently, early 2000s, started opening up her boutiques. Before, it was Barneys, Saks, Bergdorffs, etc.
