    My Trip Report

    The Crew –
Me; my best friend from college - Laura; my drinkin buddy - Jodi; and my boys - Chris and Dan.

    Day One –
    My actual birthday…
We flew on American out of Dayton, and had no problems except of course, once we finally landed in Vegas, we had to sit on the runway for 30 minutes. Grrrr

Since it was such a special occasion I organized a little surprise and had Presidential Limo waiting for us at the baggage claim. Everyone was blown away, and it was a great touch! We were running late, so we didn’t get the full hour, which bummed me out, but the 2 bottles of champagne kind of made up for that.
We stopped by the Vons near the airport and got some supplies – you know the necessities, gin, beer, tonic, limes, cheese-its, chocolate.
After the pit stop, we headed straight for the Flamingo. We booked our Go rooms about 3 months ago so we got a great rate of $80 a night.
We checked-in (didn’t bother with the $20 trick, and we didn’t need to). When we checked into the room and I saw the view, I lost my sh*t!!! :nworthy: It was amazing! We had a side view, that wasn’t blocked by Toni Braxton’s ass, and practically had a straight on view of the Fountains. Chris and Dan paid $20 more for the upgraded “view†Go room, and they were stuck looking at the piddly little Caesars Fountains, and Braxton’s pores. Chris complained upon check-out and got some money back.

I give the Flamingo four stars. We LOVED it there! The rooms are super hip, the service was good, it’s easy to get around and the location is right on!

OK, so we hooked up our i-pod, the ladies got hot/drunk and we were ready to grab some grub and more drinks. Oh yeah, Jodi surprised me with a bottle of Patron – now that is a good friend! :drunk:

Trader Vics at Planet Hollywood – We decided on this restaurant based on Mikey’s recommendation, and I must say, the boy got it right! We sat out on the patio, they had a live band, and some good ass drinks. We didn’t want to eat too much since we had a long night ahead of us, so we opted for a bunch of YUMMY apps. We had the Crab Rangoons – OMG! Coconut Chicken, Beef Satay, Duck tacos, Tuna Tataki, Calamari, and 2 BIG ASS rum bowls that we all shared.
All of that for – get this – only $20 a person!!!!!!!!!!

We poked around the PHo for a while, and I was doing OK on some $1 WOF, but frankly that casino was DEAD for a Wednesday night.

Then we took a cab to the Rio so we could go to the VooDoo Lounge. That casino was also pretty dead, and we walked up to the door to go in and my bitch ass friends tried to play the “tired card.†“We’ve been up for 24 hours. Wha, wha.†What the hell? So ladies, I’m sorry to say, that I didn’t get my Witch Doctor on – but next trip, I’ll be there!

    Day 2

We woke up bright and early – 6am early, and we were hungry. So the girls got up, and we headed to the Paris Buffet.
$16 later, and a VERY mediocre breakfast, it was time to go. You’d think they could make some holandais sauce seeing as how it’s a “French†restaurant and all – but alas, No.

After breakfast we headed back towards the Flamingo and played some Monopoly penny slots at Bill’s for my cheap ass friends ;) and then I headed back to the Flamingo for some VP. Yeah, I know the payouts suck, but it’s convenient…

11am rolls around and baby, it’s time to hit the pool! Oh yes, heaven on earth! This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. We ended up getting STUPID drunk with our $30 bucketS of beer. Sure there are Cyclones and Earthquakes going on, but damn it, I earned the right to pay $5 for a beer. Then we opted to up the ante and moved on to $10 margaritas. Our buzz was fantastic. My friend busted his ass coming down the stairs from the hot tub, and it sounded like 3 seals mating as his body slapped the pavement. Boys and girls, not only is that concrete hot as mother effing hell, it’s also slick as a hooker’s thigh.

Now it’s 5pm, and kids we were hungry. Where else are we going to go but Margaritaville for a Volcano of Nachos. Yeah, they were good. Real good.

After that we all headed up stairs and passed out for about 3 hours. But you know what, it’s Vegas GD, and it was time to get our asses in the shower and head Downtown.

$20 cab ride later…we get dropped off at the Golden Nugget and our 1st stop was at La Bayou for our yard long drinks with an extra shot - $17.

A good deal of VP and Buffoonery later, and getting hit on by a few guys who forgot their teeth, :nono: we headed to Binions for the coffee shop. The food was OK, but the atmosphere – ouch! It was all I could do to keep from slitting my wrist with a plastic spoon. That pretty much killed our buzz, so we headed back down the strip.
At this point we all kind of split up and did our own things for a couple of hours, but I was in bed by 4am.

    Day 3

Friday morning was pretty chill, we had breakfast at Caesars (the restaurant right by the front door,) and we all agreed that it wasn’t very good.

At this point, things are starting to get a little blurry. I think we chilled at the pool for a few hours, and got ready to check out. The people watching at the Flamingo pool is 1st rate!

It’s now 4pm, and it is time to check into the Venetian. I like the V, and it was prefect for us because there were 5 of us, and they have a pull out couch. So even though we payed like $400 a night, individually we only had to pay $160 for the weekend.
And forget all you haters – I like the way the V smells. My friends insist that it smells like a urinal puck. They’re just jealous.

We lounged around for a bit, got dressed and headed down to NYNY for Zumanity.

We walked up and got last row orchestra seats, and we could see everything just fine. It was a very small/intimate theatre. The show was good, but at this point I’m about Cirqued out. If you’ve seen one, you’ve pretty much seen them all. This one just had lots of topless women.

Stay tuned for the rest of the trip - I must pretend like I'm actually doing some work now...

    TR Flaming-O/Venetian 30th Bday 5/14-18 cont.

Following Zumanity we checked out the Dueling Pianos at NYNY for a bit, rode the roller coaster, which was VERY jerky and then we decided to cab it back to the Venetian. We ran up to the room, downed some more shots of Patron, and the headed downstairs, where were looking for some mischief.
Across from one of the cashier cages, there is this little bar that always has a great cover band playing. These guys were really rockin it out with a little bit of everything from Michael Jackson to Dr Dre to Vanilla Ice. We had a blast!
In between songs we were trying to score free drinks, so we headed to some of the penny slots, where I deposited $8, and quickly won $125!! Not too shabby for some free drinks.
At this point it was about 2am, so Laura and I headed to the Grand Lux for some drunk food, and we had some awesome buffalo chicken apps, and we shared a delicious pasta dish. Then off to bed for some heartburn dreams!

    Day 4
Our last full day – today we’re on a mission – GET DRUNK! Oh yeah, and we wanted to gamble and play some $5 pai gow. Jodi and I started off at IP where we sat at the bar, and I got 5 queens on Deuces Wild, which kept us playing for quite a while. We were chugging some Stoli and Sodas and generally feeling great.

After the stench at IP got to us, we decided to head towards O’Sheas. O’Yeah. The beer pong was happening, and let me tell you that the ****** bag/tool box contingency was in full effect at the O. But we were getting comped drinks and SoCo and Lime shots. I registered for a poker tournament for 5pm, and in hindsight that probably wasn’t the wisest way for me to spend my $60 buy-in after all those drinks, so let’s just not talk about it…

Needless to say after I shuffled away in shame from poker tables, it was time to party with my friends and drink some more shots. Did I mention that we love midgets. Yeah, we love them. Little people that is. They’re into giving the ladies free shots, but in return, they stand on the bar, while the girls have to turn around, and the midget, er little person, gets to put their balls on my forehead. Yeah, it was kind of hot. Ok, not really, but we had a blast.

We continued making our way down the strip and played some more VP at the Flamingo. Around 8pm, we were starting to get the munchies. What better place to be a total drunk gluttonous pig, than the Buffet at the Billagio.

Holy Cow – the shit was delicious. Seriously. Prime rib, crab legs, venison, yummy soup, ceviche, shrimp cocktail, sushi, salad, and OMG the desserts – the bread pudding was out of the world. I must highly recommend this place.

Needless to say, after this we were DONE! Off to bed.

    Day 5
It’s Sunday morning and the depression is getting ready to set in. We pack, and head down to the Grand Lux for breakfast, which was probably the best of the trip.
Before we left the V, I had to stop by the Bouchon Bakery, and folks, this place is FANTASTIC! I had the best cupcake of my life, and yes it was totally worth $4.95.

We made it to the airport by 12:30, and got smoothly through the long ass security line.

In summary, we had a fantastic time. When can I go back? If I could I would be there tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone on this board for all their tips!
    Cheers!
    Heather

Great TR and Happy Birthday. Sounds like the right kind of trip: lots of drinking, lots of gambling, and staying out way too late.

Great TR! Thanks for sharing...you all really did Vegas right! I suggest that since your friend flaked on you and you didn't get to go to VooDoo, that when you return to Vegas your first stop is VooDoo and she has to buy you a Witch Doctor!! I think that's fair don't you? :evillaugh

Oh and I second what Bosco said--WE WANT PICTURES!!!
