    My Trip Report

    TR guys trip 4/22 - 4/26 - PICS added

    Hey all. It's been about a week and half since I've been back and I can once again think about alcohol without wanting to puke so I figured I'd post up a report. I will add pics but the ones I really wanted to come out well, didn't and the rest of the pics are pretty standard stuff.

    This is an all guys trip. Me (24) 6th trip. Buddy John (26) 5th trip, buddy Mark (23) 2nd trip, buddy Mike (23) 1st trip.

    Flight

    Flew out of Detroit via USairways. Our flight was right on time with no issues to report at all. We were seated in the last row of the plane which was a nightmare. It baffles me the amount of times people need to go the bathroom in a 4 hour flight. About half way through the flight the captain came on and said we are going over some storms and we will be experiencing "mild" turbulence and everyone, including the flight attendants needed to be in their seats. Well he was on the money. It was the roughest turbulence I've been in but it wasn't bad. The plane did do that trick where it hit an air pocket or something and felt like it dropped 100 feet which sort of scared the piss out of me and everyone on the plane. Only thing to report during the turbulence was the lady who was next to me wanted to get up and go to the bathroom during it all and asked me to get up. This lady had already went 3 times which was annoying enough but there was no way I was going to ignore the pilots direct order to be in our seats and plus I don't think I would've been able to stand anyways. I guess when people need to go, they need to go but I told her I wasn't getting up :confused2:

    Day 1

    Arrival in Vegas

    We landed on time it was around 9am. Baggage claim took around 10-15 minutes and we were off for our 1 minute wait in the taxi line. Soon we were pulling up to THEhotel at Mandalay Bay to see if our room was ready. Cab ride was surprising $15 + tip.

    We go to check in and they said they were not accepting early checkins until 10am. So we head to the bar at Mandalay Bay to grab some beers and hang out. I put $20 and was playing the $1-10 bets on the blackjack game in the bar top video poker machine. The $20 in got a bartenders attention and a couple comped Honey Browns :cheers:

    Lost the $20 rather quick. Bought in another $20. After about 10 minutes I was up to around $50 and decided to throw some more $10 bets in. Well I hit a nice run and cashed out a $201 ticket after losing 3 $10 hands in a row. I was as high as $250 at one point. So $160 profit + 2 beers. Good start.

    10:00 am head over to checkin. I wanted to slip a $20 to the worker but the counters here were flat and it would have been extremely obvious and there were two management looking folks hanging out over their shoulders so I just kindly asked if they had a room on a high floor facing north on the strip. She said they did - Score!

    After this we went to House of Blues for some breakfast/lunch. A round of Patron to kick us off go the bartenders attention. We all ordered the "hotrod" off the breakfast menu which had to be the best thing I've ever had. A couple more drinks and a nice tip to the bartender and we were off to the BJ tables.

    $15 minimums were everywhere so we jumped in. Nothing too notiable so we didn't stay long.

    Check on the room and it's still not ready. So we decided to walk down to the Vegas sign for pics. The walk was probably about 1/2 mile but wasn't bad. On the way back we stopped at the liquor store that is across the street from the MB next to the subway. We picked up 3 bottles of Patron, 1 bottle of Ciroc, and 1 bottle of Level (vokda) with various mixers, limes, etc and off to check on the room.

    They told me the room would be ready by 3pm so I walked up at 3pm. At this time she told me the room still wasn't ready. This made me a little upset because we were walking around the casino for 5+ hours and really needed a home base at this point. She said she had another room but it wouldn't have the same view. I immediately told her scratch that. She then went in the back and after about 5 minutes came out and started banging away on the computer. Another 5 minutes and we got our room keys. Room 803 on the 32nd floor.

    THEsuite

    Soon as getting in the room I called down to have room service bring us up a couple extra robs, slippers, and some extra towels.

    The room. Absolutely amazing. Nothing else to say about it. 1.5 bathrooms, 42'' LCD in the living room, 32'' in the bedroom, 15'' lcd in the bathroom. Floor to ceiling windows in both the living room and bathroom. The tub wasn't a jacuzi but was HUGE. I had enough room to almost completely lay down in it and it was extremely deep. I sat in there and watched Sports Center for about an hour and loved it. The 3 sink faucets, tub, and stand up shower all had perfect water pressure. The bathroom was fully stocked with some lotions, shampoos, q tips, and a bunch of other nice accessories. And for those wondering, the couch in the living room does NOT have a pullout bed but is plenty wide enough to sleep on. It was comfortable too. It was actually more comfortable to sleep on then sit because of how high the back was.

    If anyone stays here ask for our room number. It was high, faced north, and was more towards the left so the Luxor wasn't blocking anything. Absolutely AMAZING room view. Only thing that sucked was City Center blocked the view of the Belagio, T.I., etc. but still absolutely amazing view. Couldn't have asked for better.

    6:58pm

    My cell phone rings and it's the presidential limo driver I secretly reserved for the us ready for our 7pm pickup. The guys were giving me a hard time when I was getting them to follow me, especially since I grabbed a bottle of Ciroc and 4 pack or Red bulls on the way out. I insured them to just trust me. Walk out the front entrance and there's our driver waiting for us with the door open. Quick introduction and gave him the plans and off we went for a 2 hour cruise of the strip that turned into 3 hours. I timed the ride to be right at sun set which worked out perfectly as the sun was just setting as we were cruising down the strip.

    On this we drank most the Ciroc and stopped at a gas station to grab a 12 pack of beer. The driver bought us ice and cups. We made a stop downtown and jumped out to see the light show. We then went over to the Golden Nuggest and had saki <sp?> bombs. The driver then took us over to the Palms were we ran in and had 2 cherry bombs and back on the road to head back. We all woke up at 7am barely remembering getting dropped off :eek: My one buddy was sleeping with a beer in his hand lol.

    day 2

    Woke up bright and early. John was missing when we woke up but we later determined he was down at the BJ table. We went to breakfast at the cafe in Mandalay Bay. "Cafe" I'm pretty sure was the actual name of the place. Food was great and reasonably priced. We got a table next to the window overlooking the palm trees and parts of the waterfall leading to one of the pools.

    Today we walked the strip. We went to NY, NY and hung out for a little while then over to MGM Grand. We played a little $10 6/5 blackjack and went over to watch the free Lions show which I thought was totally awesome and very cool to see. Highly recommended. Mark put in $5 on some keno machine he's been playing and instantly won $75 and cashed out.

    Continued walking stopping in Belagio for some $10 continuous machine shuffle black jack. We checked out the conservetory and the blown glass in the lobby ceiling.

    Back across the street to Planet Hollywood. We hung out in the center casino bar for about an hour drinking some beers. The waitress here was SMOKING hot and scantily clad.

    On to Margarita Ville. We ordered one of the $50 100oz margarita's and polished that off + a few beers and started walking again. We stopped in Bills to grap $2 draft beers when I started talking to a very attractive blonde and decided to hang out with her for a little while. We went and watched the band at Carnival Court for a little while. I met up with the guys who were gambling at Bally's. Me and my buddy sat down at the $10 single deck black jack game and proceeded to have the most fun we've ever had at a table. We were high fiving, high fiving the dealer, had the pit boss's cracking up. We even had the pit boss's coming over to new people sitting down at the table making sure that they new the minimum's of the table were $10 + high fives :D Me and the same buddy sat at the $25 single deck table at MB and they were yelling at us for high fiving which I thought was totally lame. Everytime the waitress would come we'd order another beer whether we needed one or not. Well a couple times she came and we weren't finished and she said she couldn't let us have 2 drinks. Tipped her $10 and never got a word again. We both walked away +$100 and a damn good time.

    After this was some more walknig. Caesers forum shops and Venetian and then a cab ride back from the Venetian. Mike and John were crashed out. Mark and I did 8 shots of Patron a piece and went up to MIX. The place was empty but my God what a view! Ordered 2 vodka cranberry's $27 +$13 tip. Hour later came back and the bartender just asked if I wanted 2 more and proceded to poor us 2 more of the strongest drinks I've ever had. Same tip as last time. Next time I came up and asked for 2 Corona's which he said were on him. Of course I gave him a $20 for that. Awesome bartender service and awesome bar. The bathroom is amazing as well. They have a full shelf of accessories like mouth wash, matches, hand towels, etc etc. We tipped the guy in the bathroom $5 to use the secret bathroom. It's basically in a room next to the stalls that looks like a closet. When you go in it's a toilet in the center of a 6 x 6 room with a floor to ceiling window over looking the pool.

    After that it was off to bed.

    Day 3

    Woke up in the same clothes as I went to bed. The only way I like it. Breakfast was 8 shots of tequila and off we go. We did some more gambling and drinking. We went to Game Works and spent about 4 hours there playing video games, eating food, and drinking Guinness for our Vegas tradition. John and I go there almost everytime we go to Vegas. The food at the bar here was great and was typical bar prices. Pitchers of Guinness were $16 which isn't too bad. On our ways out I sold my unlimeted play card to a couple with a young kid for $10 bucks and we were off. We get back to the room and do some more drinking. My buddy Mark and I decide to go to LAX. No bottle service but by the time we got there at like 12am-1am there was no line and we walked right in. I don't even remember paying cover. The place was packed though. Closing time came and off we went women in hand. Bla bla bla this day was mostly a blur.

    Day 4

    Breakfast was Five Dollar Footlong at subway across the street and we picked up another bottle of Patron, a bottle of Don Julio, and a case of bud light bottles and back to the room.

    We all decided before the trip to do some gambling amonst each other. We did a $10 buyin winner take all blackjack tournement. I bought in and let my friend play for me as I forgot my cell phone charger and I was trying to acquire one.

    So while they were playing I walk downstairs to security and get me someones left over cell phone charger. Walk over to the blackjack table and put 2 greens down and don't even sit down. Win that hand and immediately color it and walk to the bar. $12 shot of Patron + $8 tip. Back to the black jack table 2 greens. Win and walk away. Back to the bar Patron + tip = $20. Bartender was very thankful and I could tell by the glasses (shots) she was pooring me. So I walked back to the room 2 shots of Patron, $60, and a cell phone charger ahead jsut to find out I won the massive $40 pot in that game and I wasn't even playing. Gave my buddy $10 for playing for me.

    Next was the $50 buyin 4 person texas hold'em tournement. Not much going on for me. I had pocket K's and caught a K on the flop but couldn't get anyone to play. Other then that everytime I looked at my hole cards I kept thinking I was playing blackjack. Buddy John won that game and the $200 pot.

    We had the dinner buffet at MB tonight. $30. VERY VERY GOOD. King crab, steak, all kinds of seafood, desserts. Way too much to eat and we all ate to the point of getting sick.

    More of the same today. We went to MIX that night so the girls who fell asleep at 9pm that second night could check the place out. Same bartender was there and he immediately knew my name and started pooring my drink before I said anything. Man I could get use to that kind of service. So we hung out there and gave them guys the tour and view. Next up a cab ride over to VooDoo.

    All four of us walked up and the guy asked if we were all together and then told us to wait there. Realizing we may never get in with 4 guys made some small talk with him which apparently hit the right cord as after a few minute in-depth conversation we were in. $30 a piece over charge.

    VooDoo - well not much to say about this place other then WOW! Ordered 4 pineapple/gooses and 1 cranberry/Goose from the bartender $60 + 33% tip. Very strong but not like the ones at MIX and they were in plastic cups which I'm sure is law being that high up.

    The place was packed but plenty of room for a view. The view from the steps was amazing. I like MIX better as a lounge type place to grap some drinks or to bring a lady but VooDoo is more of a party, club type scene. Very cool and HIGHLY recommended. I will def be back. We hung out there took in the view and got some drinks before heading back to THEhotel to crash for our flight out in the morning.

    Total money spent = roughly $800. Mostly in alcohol. We did gambling but nothing big. Up $100 here down $100 there and so on. I drank entirely WAY too much. I actually had a 4-5 day hangover after coming back. We all have pretty ridiculous tolerances but man I felt like crap.. I know for a fact not one of those days I had less then 20 shots and I don't even count beers but those were easily in double digits each day as well.

    I'll try to fill in some more gaps as they come back and I will post some pics as well. Sorry for the bad grammar as I'm at work and don't have a lot of time, especially since this got kind of long.

    THEhotel = 2 thumbs up
    VooDoo = 2 thumbs up
    Patron = 2 thumbs up
    MIX = 2 thumbs up (but only for certain activities pregaming or a date)
    $25 single deck BJ table at MB = no thumbs
    LAX = don't really remember but I think I had fun

    This pic is from the liquor store parking lot so that'll give you guys an idea for those looking for a liquor store. Prices were pretty much normal prices.

    We could not get a decent night shot anywhere but this gives you the best idea of our room view.

    TV in the living room. The iPod dock was the MVP of the trip. That thing was plenty loud and sounded great.

    Gotta love the Patron shots and all-around drinking. I hope to remember my upcoming trip well enough for a decent TR.

    It was $52 an hour and I think they charged another $4 an hour fuel fee or something close to that. It was around $110 for everything for the 2 hours but we added another hour on with the driver so we did 3 total. I was very impressed with the service. The driver was professional and right on time :thumbsup:

    Thanks! My liver was pretty mad at me but I think it's finally over the abuse I put it through.
