    My Trip Report

It's too bad the sky on Saturday didn't provide a better backdrop. Also, I never realized that Fremont St. properties had so many obstructions (mainly from the canopy & shows), they sure make clear shots a challenge. Anyway, on with the tour...

GREAT pics!! Thanks for posting those; I really enjoyed them. Loved the vintage pic, too. :)

I've never been down past the end of the canopy (opposite of the Plaza), so I really liked seeing them. What is the big martini glass neon in front of?

    Again, thanks.

    Yeah, that was pretty sad.

Interesting stuff tho - 2nd floor open-air place above Hennessey's for one.

I love that the older gent in the yellowish leisure suit is waving at you in front of the fremont. I have a sneaking suspicion that's one of our members. lol.

I hope you weren't struck by a car shortly after this photo?

Hey...does anyone know if there is any reason to the baseball guy on top of the Vegas Club sign? I wondered if there is any significance to this?

Given that they spelt "view" as "VUE" and that there's a yellow Saturn Sky in the front, I would say it's some kind of car giveaway promotion from Saturn. I agree it could have used a better slogan though.

I assume it was this one you were questioning

That's one of the new neon signs recently added to spruce up the walk from Las Vegas Blvd to El Cortez. It's out front of the old 7-11.

Yes, he is. I didn't notice him until after I reviewed the photos. I thought it looked like he was waving, too.

They really are touting their Vue bar. I don't know about trendy, but it is a nice place to break away from the crowds and get a birds eye view of Fremont Street. I didn't get a good shot of it, but it's located above the Fitzgeralds sign

LOL, no. The reason for me standing in the middle of the street was that at the time, U2's "I still have'nt found what I'm looking for" video was one of my favorites. I just wanted to stand where Bono stood.
