    My Trip Report

Last March, I finally got to take my eldest kiddo for the long-promised trip to Vegas. We had a great time! When Frontier had their 100% off sale a couple of months ago (thanks VMB for me knowing about this), I called up kiddo and asked if they wanted to join me for my annual Lunar New Year trip. Getting a "yes!", I bought a super cheap non-stop RT ticket for kiddo from ATL to LAS, and we're meeting up there tomorrow.

Plans include: stand-up comedy (Luenell) at Jimmy Kimmel's comedy club at LINQ on Sunday, Mad Apple at NYNY on Monday, and in between, some good dining, Eataly gelato and LaVazza coffee, pool time, poker at Horseshoe , craps at Ellis Island, bar top VP anywhere and everywhere, Bellagio Conservatory for the LNY display, and viewing the displays at the other big Strip casinos.

I probably won't post a lot, tbh, just highlights as they happen so we can look back and remember what we did and where.

Kiddo has bankroll left from the last trip; I didn't lose much last month, so bankroll mostly intact.

Stretch goals -- try a $25 craps table, just for kicks. Finally try Pai Gow. Visit one of the famous Tiki bars.

I'd love to hear how Kimmel's is! I didn't notice until I already booked Laugh Factory.

You can always play at a $15 table but bet as if on a $25
It's one way to get your feet wet and see how comfortable you are playing at that level

I like playing PGP at Park. But don't play alone.
PGP is very sociable. The dealer will help set your hand if you're uncertain. Adjacent players will help too
More times than not, having fun with others at the table Is a big part of the attraction.
Personally, if the rest of the players cash out and leave, I generally do too.... It's much less fun playing alone.

Additionally, unlike blackjack, your play has zero impact on anyone else at the table….wholeheartedly second ReTriggerMe’s endorsement. Good Luck!

Kiddo is on the plane; I still have a few hours before I get to head to the airport.

I guess my PGP concern is not knowing the game well (I’ve read the rules and played an app, but obvs never live). I only ever play BJ at an empty table, for that reason-I hate slowing the game for others.

Pai Gow poker moves so slowly as it is, you really shouldn't worry about it. Any regular player expects others to have questions. Hell, I've been playing it for 20 years and I still ask the dealer questions from time to time!

And here’s the pet tax-my sleepy boys hiding under the couch, right where the heat vent blows.

Kiddo is at an indoor climbing gym in Vegas!

I have found people and dealers to be friendly at PPGP tables. Most of them are face up now so you can see what the dealer has begf fore setting your hand. Good luck and have fun with the kiddo. Spent Thanksgiving for 5 days with my kiddos in Vegas. Am looking forward to 4 days in Biloxi for first weekend of March Madness with them.

At the airport, in the TSA pre line! Sign said 5 minutes…. This trip, the timing might be right for a pre-Vegas airport beer. That’s happened on the way home but not on the way there….

Just asked Junior to make my NHL bets, since I’ll get in too late to make them before the afternoon games start.
