Hi. I am on a FB group and someone posted this -

“Pinball high limit slots at Bellagio are dead as a doornail. $3,000 in to get $3,575 back. Another guest had similar results on an adjacent machine.”

And people started jumping on him because it’s a win (that was my first impression too) but he keeps saying things like “based on statistics the $50 pinball machines were not paying out in a usual and customary manner. It wasn’t meant as a gripe or grievance, just an FYI to anyone playing.” But this sounds like high limit slots always pay over what you put in them. What am I missing here?

I .... have no.... idea lol

I play a lot of high limit slots and that is a fine result. Perhaps they're angry about the volatility and want to either win 10k or go broke? I dunno. But also, if they are talking about $50 denomination, Pinball is 2 or 3 credits per spin, with the 3 credit ones being far more popular, so at that point, you're talking about only 20 spins at $3k. So the only conclusion I can draw from this is these are mathematical mental midgets!

Oh. Well, when I first read this, I thought he meant the machines were cold with the "dead as a doornail" comment like many other posters in the FB thread apparently did.

What he is actually saying is that pinball machines won't last in the casino because he thinks these are paying more than 100% long term.

But 60 spins at $50 a spin is a completely insignificant sample size, and he doesn't know what he's talking about imo.

I am on a few Vegas FB groups and have dropped off a few times, then come back after 30 days.

It is full of stupid people. Really, most FB groups are full of stupid people. NOBODY seems to read older posts - even ones posted with the same question an hour earlier.

As to casino posts - most seem to still believe that casinos adjust wins up and down at will, and pay more or less with players card in, etc etc

“Hey does anybody know if the diamond lounges are open at Paris or Harrahs???”

“Did your 5x points show up yet?”

“I don’t see the $100 celebration dinner in my offers where do I find it”

    :)

I know exactly what you’re talking about, and the quote in the OP does not surprise me whatsoever

The poster referenced Charles Dickens, if that means anything.

NFC, I know EXACTLY the groups you are referring to!

Of all the Facebook groups I belong to, whether Vegas/gambling related or not, the group of groups you are quoting are THE MOST IGNORANT bunch of people, on the subject matter as well as spelling and grammar, that exist on Facebook. No to mention the assholery that the mods let go on.

I stick around these groups not for the information, but for the train-wreck of entertainment they are.

Yes, it is amazing what a train wreck that Facebook group is and how clueless most of the posters are.

Closing this thread down as it's veered off topic and has become about bashing other boards, which is against VMB rules.
