Why a huge line to get into Venetian pool?

So we have a cabana reserved for next week. We were wandering the hotel today and noticed a massive line to get out to the pool deck after 10am. Pool opens at 8 so why was the line so massive?

We are worried if we show up to get into our cabana reservation (that starts at 9am) that we are going to be waiting to just get into the pool area. Seems very strange. Any insight?

I assume waiting is for those without reservations, has to be. A lot of people who go to vegas do not know about reservations.

 

Just learned that Venetian is offering for their "guests" pool lounge chair reservations for a daily rental fee of anywhere from $50-75 per chair. Was wondering if this fee is offset by F&B credits to be applied to a daily minimum spend amount at the pool. Or is there no minimum F&B spend? And, nor is there any F&B credit associated with the reservation fee? Last time there availability was on a first come basis... no reservation, no fees, no minimums!

 

What if you don't have reservations? Can you still get a chair?

 

Yes, if there are any available. Just pay the rental fee for the day. So I was told by a friend who did not pursue it any further at the time.

 

No I meant, are there any free chairs available? Looks like all the pools are headed to paid chairs (another money grab). Youtuber Travel ruby said that at certain areas of Caesars, there is a chair/daybed rental required.

 

My understanding is there are no longer any free lounge chairs. All must be rented.

 

That sucks! once one conglomerate does this, then the other ones follow suit. i.e. resort fees, early check in fees, specific views, etc. Next it might be fees for housekeeping LOL
