I don't understand why FP wouldn't count here, but even better.

Your new host obviously wants you back.

Also it looks a little trivial to not comp off $154 on the back end. Hate to run off someone off that won ~$75k over $154. But you definitely didn't earn that comp based on this trips play. Maybe she saw your past.

Several years ago, my mother had a bunch of traveler’s checks set on her counter for our trip to Europe.

One day it mixed with her mail, and she gathered envelopes with the checks and put them all in the mailbox.

A lucky day for the mail person that found it!

@Jsmile898, I interpret @JaDubya's response to mean you will have to wear his lucky shirt without it being washed -- by anyone.

I once converted Australian dollars at Golden Nugget’s cage. It’s surprising all the stuff they can do above what we expect.

And as I type this, I realize I should’ve converted my Indian currency that way when they made it worthless.

I thought that the ONE benefit of Traveler's Checks was that if they were lost or stolen, you could get your money back.

I hope she had signed them right away when she bought them. That was one of things I was advised to do.

    Epilogue cuz I’m Verbose

    So we went 3 for 4 (75%).

Fantastic if we’re talking about basketball shooting percentage. Not so much when you’re aiming for 100% negative C-19 test results. Ugh.

The afflicted JaDubya has been in quarantine for the last few days with mild symptoms (coughing). The rest of us are still negative but uneasy. I think we’ll be fine but every cough from the negative JaDubyas is cause for anxiety.

We are fully vaxed/boosted and diligent with our masking. I wore a N95 and my wife and kids wore KN95s for the duration of the trip. But even the most diligent folks can’t mask 100% of the time, so stuff happens.

Frustrating, yes. But it is what it is and what’s done is done. We’ve done enough to not second guess ourselves.

A cautionary tale and another VMB data point. Sigh.

That said, I don’t think that I’ll be heading back for awhile as this was my wife’s biggest fear. She’d probably banish me to the garage to quarantine if I came back positive (which doesn’t sound appealing). Can you imagine the groveling?

But honey, I still have my kidneys…can’t we…never mind. lol

Ugh, but worth it? Hope it stays mild, all the rest remain -, and you feel better soon!

OH. MY. GOSH. Ok JaDubya, savoring your trip report meant it took me awhile to get to the EPIC news of your win! I am beyond the moon excited for you, and it could not have happened to a nicer person! I am so so so happy you had a fairytale trip, including the joy of seeing your daughter play!

And again JaDubya, you have a true art for writing. Congratulations on the won, and for the casino not finding a loophole to keep it, even though it sounds pike they were looking for one!!!:woohoo::nworthy::thumbsup::woot::woohoo:

Thanks @MohrPfun - I think we’ll be fine, we’ll retest on Sunday. No one else is symptomatic so far.

Not that complicated. It’s a C-19 issue. I’d need a hall pass to go back anytime soon.

I think there was a CET thread on this. It’s an earned benefit based on previous play. A Mlife host told me it doesn’t count.

My out of pocket was $120 and includes $86 of tips. I’ve had tips comped before but I was hemorrhaging cash from unspeakable places. The $154 was the backend comp. I’m not gonna quibble about $34 ($120 - 86). I won a lot and the host enhanced my free play above the corporate offer.

The host-player relationship needs to be symbiotic. I don’t play big enough to demand things.

Bummer about Covid. And masking up with N95/KN95 too? Ugh. This latest variant is just a major pain in the ass. Fortunately, most people seem to get over it pretty quickly. Hopefully the same goes for you. And hope no one else gets it!

    Thanks @Multifarious5 and @tringlomane

Today was retest day. 3 1/2 negative home tests. The afflicted JaDubya’s test still has a faint line but no symptoms. I’m calling this one.
55EA5585-0F75-4BE8-BA5B-6994F5D329D5.gif Quarantine was boring but thank God for the internet and social media.

Didn’t properly scratch my Vegas itch but…oh well. I hope my offers suck tomorrow.

NYNY is my home base. On one trip we saw that exact machine hit with 3 double diamonds for a 62k progressive. Two days later while in high limit we see it hit again for the top dollar jackpot. 5k X 2 X 2. Different people won. In both instances I had played it not very soon before (I know that doesn't matter). I've had some good top dollar bonuses on it, but no jackpot yet.
On another note, the $100 triple stars right behind it, we saw a lady jackpot that early one morning for $600+k progressive. It was 1 or 2 am. It took well over 2 hours to get her settled out for that. She was playing it for a while before she hit though. $200 a pull. Still finished well up I'm sure.

    Thanks @Multifarious5

JaDubya house is free of C-19. Yay!

Mlife offers remained unchanged (so they sucked). I’m looking forward to your TR memorializing your stay at Vdara.

I remember @Cooper2687 - I’m also a big fan of the NYNY Casino.

I had bookmarked excerpts from your TR (the one where you were on fire) as I wanted to test my luck on your machines. By the time I found them I was already in “win preservation” mode so I skipped it.

    I can’t imagine feeding $200 a pull in a machine. That’s just sick.
