What a fun trip! I am loving all the pictures. And sad to say, as often as I have stayed at Cosmo, I have not yet been to Momofuko! I need to change that.

    Good morning!
I apologize that I am getting behind in my trip report. I'm trying a little thing called living in the moment and enjoying my vacation. :haha::haha:
Kidding aside, I have no excuses. I'm just a slacker.
Let's see, when I last left off we had left the conservatory and headed back to Flamingo.
I don't think we did a whole lot the rest of the night other than grab a bite from Margaritaville to bring back to the room.
We split the Island Cuban and Southwest Chicken Salad. Both were good but the Cuban was yummy. I may get that again while we are here. The staff that took our or order at the bar was very friendly and gave us free drinks while we waited.

Yesterday after gym and showers we bought our bus passes and headed to downtown to meet up with @luck.ofthe.draw for some fun.

First stop was Dunkin at the Fremont to get some liquid candy. I grew up in Maine so Dunkin is my absolute fave and we don't have them where I live.

    IMG_3341.JPG

Then we met up with Luck at the D where she had parked but sadly, the Sigma Derby was not running.
She had never been to Container Park so we boogied on over there so she could check it out.

We walked around for a little while. Luck got some chocolate and we sat down for a bit on the second level to just chat a bit before heading over to Fremont to play some slots.

But first a stop for beer. I think the place was called Banger's Brewery or something similar. Hubs and I no longer drink but Luck enjoyed a flight and we all sat and relaxed. It was a cute little place tucked into or next to Neonopolis. They even had a nice variety of board games, though we didn't partake.

Over at Fremont Luck had a pretty good run on an old school I Dream of Jeannie machine (see her report for all the glorious pics) and then we played around at Binions. I had a little bit of luck on a Flintstones and Little Shop machine, but overall not a lot. Either way, fun was had by all.

Oooh I’m so glad that old flintstones ia still around! Love that one!

How is the bus these days? Serious question. Sometimes I like the bus for staring out the window, but I don’t know how it’s been lately. Very slow, or regular slow?

    Keep having fun!

It was pretty yummy. I might get it again Friday night if we don't want to travel elsewhere for dinner.

Thanks! Cosmo had at least one more Flintstones machine when we were there two days ago.
The bus is regular slow in my opinion but it was also early afternoon on a Tuesday. We didn't take it back to the hotel because Luck gave us a ride but I'd guess it gets a lot slower at night. Hope that helps. :D

After Binion's we headed over to Jerry's Nugget to check it out. Luck had never been and the last time we were there was well over a decade ago.

    IMG_3384.JPG

We wanted to play a bit but we were pretty hungry so we hit the diner first.

At first we thought it was pretty pricey for an off strip joint, but the menu was HUGE and there were quite a few lower priced option. Also, the portions were pretty giant.

    IMG_3385.JPG
    IMG_3386.JPG
    IMG_3387.JPG
I got the open faced turkey sandwich with gravy, cranberry "sauce" and fries and Rob got the Spicy Nugget with coleslaw. Mine was pretty yummy but Rob's was seriously good. Luck got chicken fried steak and a baked potato. The whole thing including the a slice of chocolate cream pie was fifty something bucks. I thought that was more than fair for all the food we got.
After our bellies were full we played for a while in the casino with no real memorable wins (I think Luck got some) before heading over to Circus Circus.

If you have read my trip reports before, you might remember that CC is significant to my husband and I as it was the hotel that we were staying in (separately) the weekend that we met 22 years ago. In that hotel we shared our first meal together. It was at the Westside Deli and every so often we go back and "recreate" the meal of a pastrami sandwich, potato salad and horrible nachos (just tortilla chips and a powdered cheese sauce) and we wanted to do that this trip. We had already eaten so we got all the stuff to go and hit up some slots.

    IMG_3390.JPG
We found a bank of old school goldfish reel slots and pretty much played them into the ground. By the time we were done two of them were out of order and two of them had buttons that either didn't work or kept sticking.
We decided that was a sign to get going so we grabbed our food and Luck gave us a ride back to our hotel.

Almost any craft shop will have the tiny drills and chains, jump rings, and fishhooks and such that you need to make jewelry out of those. Remember that copper will tarnish, so you'll have to regularly polish or else coat with lacquer.

Yesterday we slept in until nine or so as we didn't have a whole lot of plans for the day. Our original plan was to use the Groupon we didn't get to utilize on Sunday for the go carts because they were closed. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the place to answer the phone so we just assumed they were still not open. We didn't want to drive and have our friends meet us out there again just to find them closed again. Instead we had them meet us over at The Peppermill for an early dinner. This place had been on our Vegas bucket list for awhile and we never seemed to be able to make it work. You may remember in a previous trip report that we finally made it out there around two in the morning three or four years ago only to find them closed for cleaning.
So we hung around the room for a bit and then headed out for our walk to the restaurant.

We were a little early so we ducked into Ross where I picked up a couple new tops for the new job search. The thing that sucks about having been at a job with no dress code for 16 years and doing community theater for 10 is that I I only have two extremes for my wardrobe: slob clothes or evening gowns :haha::haha::haha:

    IMG_3455.JPG
In a case of amazing timing we finished shopping and walked into the Peppermill parking lot the same time our friends were driving in.

    IMG_3456.JPG
    IMG_3457.JPG
We were there in time for happy hour. The boys both got milkshakes while I got a virgin daiquiri and our other friend got a cosmo. Rob also got some wings.

    IMG_3459.JPG
    IMG_3461.JPG
The food was great. The waitress warned us ahead of time that the portions were huge so we opted to split. Our friends shared the club sandwich and we got something called the Conquest which was roast beef, cheddar, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, peppers and bacon and thousand island dressing on Parmesan sourdough. Sooooo yummy!

    IMG_3463.JPG
    IMG_3464.JPG
    IMG_3465.JPG

Thankfully our friends gave us a ride back to the hotel because I'm not sure I could have walked back with my belly that full. It would have been a slow roll for sure! And that was with SPLITTING a meal. So good!

The food coma hit when we got back to the hotel and we didn't do a whole hell of a lot. I laid down to "rest my back" and next thing I knew it was two hours later and I had to get up to take off my make up so I could go back to sleep. :haha::haha:

@cvkelz - your trip report just gets better and better. Those downtown pics, especially Container Park are super! Open faced turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce at Jerry’s Nugget is right up my alley, looked yummy for sure.

Had to laugh when you said you literally wore out some of those old time gold fish slots, it’s like striking gold when you find one!

I love the pic of y’all in front of the Westside Deli - a real true love story there :nworthy:

    Yesterday was our lazy day.
We decided Wednesday night before bed that we were going to leave for home a day early, leaving Friday morning instead of Saturday. We are running out of things to do without spending more money than we want to so we decided to head on home.
It also makes the difference on leaving super early in the morning (like three in the morning on Saturday) or taking more time. If we left on Saturday it would be a race to get home to pick up our dogs before the vet's closes at noon. If we miss that window, we won't see our dogs until they open again on Tuesday!! Not happening.
So this way we don't have to rush and can still spring our dogs from jail on Saturday. I miss those little buggers.

So we didn't do a whole lot yesterday. I hit the gym and thought about getting a spa treatment but couldn't justify the cost.
We actually took a nap in the afternoon and it was quite nice to do that after being on the go (for us) for several days.
When we woke up we had a note from @Mzctbb saying he would be arriving in town soon and wondering if we wanted to meet up for a drink. We had met Mike about four or five years ago at an VMB meet and slot pull and thought he was a great guy so we were excited to meet up and catch up.
We messaged back and forth a bit and then headed over to the Linq promenade while waiting for him to pick up some take out. at Jaburritos. We had eaten there a couple years ago and found them a bit lackluster but I'm glad we gave them another try as this time it was delish! We also picked up a couple of shakes from In N Out.

Currently we are packing up and getting ready for the long drive home. I'm a bit sad to be leaving a day early but not enough to keep me from doing it. This has been my longest trip to date and while I didn't do a whole lot the first few days I was on my own, I'm ready to get back to my own house and my own bed and see my babies again.
Thanks to everyone that has followed along and commented. I will conclude this trip report when I get home tonight or possibly tomorrow and I will probably post a few pics from the road...it's tradition now to stop at the World's Largest Chevron in Jean so expect those pics. :D
