CVKelz's unemployment trip 1/3/22 - 1/14/22 **Semi- Live**

Hey y'all!!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season and Santa brought you everything you ever dreamed of.
Tonight I fly into my happy place and should be there through 1/14/22. I'll be staying first at the Rio because it was dirt cheap and then at the Flamingo because we haven't stayed there in a while and the price was right at that location as well.
I will be solo the first three days and then the hubs will be driving up to join me. He should arrive sometime in the wee hours of Friday morning.
This trip came about because. as the title implies, I have recently become unemployed. The business that I worked for shut down rather abruptly and mostly unexpectedly in November. The good news on that front is that I was blessed with a severance package that has made the new job search a bit more leisurely. Meaning that I am able to take a little time and not rush into the first job I am offered because I need the money right away (though that may change if this is a losing trip ). I'm incredibly grateful for that because I know that is rare and believe me I appreciate it. I wasn't sure it was going to happen.
Anyhoo! The reason for the trip is because once I get a new job it will take me quite a while to accrue a weeks worth of PTO and who knows what the vacation policy will even be, so a trip to Vegas was put into the works!
We almost literally have nothing on the agenda as we kind of rushed this together, but I'm sure there will be food and fun and gambling. If there isn't, I think I'm Vegasing wrong.
The first few days of the trip will be a whole lot of relaxing for me as even though I am unemployed, things were pretty hectic on the home front leading up to and during the holidays and I'm looking forward to a couple of days of "me time".
My flight isn't until late tonight and it's Allegiant so I'm anticipating delays, so I'll keep you posted.
I'm mostly packed and ready so it's going to be a lot of last minute loose end tying up and sitting around pretending I'm not chomping at the bit to get to Vegas.
I'm all checked in for my flight and the boarding pass has been printed.
Let's do this!!!

 

On the plus side they will serve booze on allegiant.

Checked into the airport and through security. The plane that we are taking actually left Vegas early and is on its way here so *fingers crossed* we aren’t delayed.
A little less than two hours til wheels up if all goes according to plan!!

 

I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of the babies before I left (it makes me cry to say goodbye to them every time) but The Hubs just sent me these
