What a week it's been at the local. Hell, what a YEAR it's been..
February/March I incurred my biggest Vegas loss ever.
April/May were good profitable trips while rolling 75% lower than previous few trips.
July was top 3 Money making Vegas trip ever.
Sept/Oct trip was BEST ever Vegas trip.
November solo was absolutely great the first night then turned to absolute Sh!t the second for the second biggest loss (after Feb\March).

Volatile, right??

I've been in the process of burning my local for weekly Freeplay. Attempting to double dip weekly offer with weekly weekday giveaways when possible to extract as much value.

Last Friday I went in to grab $50 FP as I was in the area. Ended up being in for $600 on Lock it Link Diamond and hit a handpay for $2100 on a $30 bet (150 credit 20 cent denom). Not terrible, right?

I went back on Sunday AM as I was in the area again and had some time to kill. I started by playing quarter triple hand UX DDBP VP at the bar $7.50 per hand. I was treading water when I said EFF IT and went to load $1000 in the sole $5 VP machine in the HL room. Playing 9/6 DDBP. I was playing for quite a bit, several full houses for replenishment and just treading along. I also got a few dealt four to a royals but could never connect. Then came a mundane hand of Aa66X. I knew rather quickly to just hold the Aces and this beauty filled in:



$4,000!! Beats my previous best VP hit 4x!! I was super ecstatic and let out a big vocal celebratory "YEAH!"

Got paid quickly and played a bit more to the best hands being a few three of a kinds.

I was feeling pretty good that day and thereafter as now I had replenished the bankroll after that awful November Vegas trip so I could be ready for January.

Then, Wednesday came along. I had a scheduled early half day(3am start) at work so I could finish up some holiday items. Of course I found myself near the local that midmorning and played a bit. I started with quarter UX DDBP five play, $12.50 a spin. Well, that quickly ate $900. So I decided to low roll on some Lock it Link but then took a stab on that $5 VP machine again. It quickly ate $1000 not even a 3 of a kind or full house, that f**king awful. Still being up for the week, I decided to take 1k out of the ATM. I debated over just throwing it in a Lock it Link and playing 10 spins of $100/spin or going after $5 DDBP again. I decided on VP..

Playing for about 20 minutes I was up only as much as $100 but not down more than $500. Lots of full houses and flushes to keep me playing. Then I was dealt AJK10 suited diamonds. I didn't need to think about it. I held the four cards, said Here we go. Then this happened:



A queen of freaking diamonds filled in for a royal flush. I jumped out of my seat, clapped my hands, and kept saying HELL YES. Holy shit. F**k yes. 20 grand!!!!



The credits counted up and I couldn't believe it. My first royal flush EVER, and I happened to be playing $5 denom. My hands were shaking and got lots of congratulations from the few slot players around.

At the local they reset the machine before paying you. All I can say is it was especially hard to keep playing knowing what I just hit although I kept hammering on. Funny enough a few hands later I AGAIN drew four to a royal but sadly, did not connect. I did hit quad 5s for $1250 while waiting though. I took some in cash but most In check and kept playing. Nothing further good happened on DDBP so I played craps for a bit. Nothing really great there but hit a few points to cash out $200 profit. Then I debated going home or playing more so of course I played more. After running and losing $1000 quickly thru $5 DDBP, I did decided to throw $1000 in a $100 Double Diamond slot and hit this on the 4th spin.


For some reason(haha), this wasn't as exciting as the Royal as I did not exclaim like I had 45 minutes prior. I agonized for a quick second that any other symbol would have been much better, but was very happy with the result. Took this one in a check too.

I played off a bit more while waiting to get paid but didn't hit anything, then decided to hit the bank then home.

What a freaking run. I will forever be chasing that 20k royal again!!!!!!!

Tiers are garbage at this place. A few months ago they did run a promo where points were 2x on Tuesday afternoons turning a lot of games into +EV. I don't see them running that again!

And yes I realize mathematically I made the wrong hold by holding the 2 along with. Wiz of Odds evaluator confirms this to the tune of giving up 1 credit EV. Luck worked out this time.

Even more crazy was I was dealt Four to a Royal again AJK10 diamonds, TWICE!! unfortunately I did not connect but thought how crazy it was twice the same royal draw as last week.

Let's hope this thread never ends...

If your previous VP best hit was $1000 as mentioned, just keep in mind the tax implications of all these W2Gs! (Assuming your local is in the US, I suppose.) If my math is right you've got just shy of $50,000 worth of hand pays there, and probably a stack of paperwork to remember them by.

 

Yes. I have many other W2Gs from slot play in Vegas this year where I was already itemizing this year in July lol. My session and total accounting needs updated tonight, and I will be going thru my records with a fine tooth comb to make sure I don't pay a cent more in taxes than needed!!!
