So, after my discussuion with my host about not renewing Platinum (the $$$ meant more to me than renewing Platinum), I left Las Vegas about 40,000 TC short. "I don't look at level, I look at play", my host said. Satisfied with that answer, I left without playing much more. I looked at my balance today and somehow, I'm at 206,000 and change, renewing Platinum. I have the creidt card, and don't see that my purchases put me THAT much over. Anyone think that my host had something to do with it?
On my last trip, I thought I just barely went over Plat. A few days later I look at account and I am at 220,000. I think some of the charges and play are delayed hitting the system.
I've had experiences in the past where some (gambling) TC posted almost immediately, and some were delayed until after I left. I have no idea why.
Agree with the last two posters. I am over 230k tier surprisingly this year to renew platinum which I never set out to do. Something must have delayed posting to account.
I've had a host from my local do this before when I'm close to reaching a tier, but never in Vegas. Cool for you, what a great way to end the year and start of the next.
In my experience the TC you get for your room and any room charges won't hit your account till after you check out
Hmm interesting, I wonder if they still gave you the TC even though the host took the dollar amounts off? I mean 40,000+ TC is $1500+ in room spend even with 30% bonus with being platinum
It's a mystery. But IF it was your host, that's confirmation that having your particular host is worth more than a different color plastic card.
Is it the 30% platinum bonus? 160k + 30% is right around the 206. I never really checked before to see if the tier bonus was real time or not.
I wouldn't rule out your host having something to do with it. Platinum doesn't really have that many hard cost tier benefits to MGM, so they may have more flexibility that say a CET host would to move someone to 7* or a Wynn host to Black or Chairman.
I had always assumed that it was real time, and I don't want to ask because she might say "oh there was an error in the calculation". The math doesn't add up, but I'm not going to fight it.
Point multiplier is points only, not tier credits. Sapphire Pearl Gold Platinum and Noir has no effect on tier advancement
If I could share, I would share. TCs have zero use after you hit Plat since requirements for NOIR are very high.
Same. I hit Plat in Nov. Considered moving to play at non-MGM at that point. Got lazy. I suppose that, even though 20,000 extra TCs are worthless, I earned some express comps and points, and the play helped with backend comps.
