You don’t HAVE to have three people—just have to pay for three people :p

are you still gonna move there knowing its that cold??? The cold is worse for you as you age! Or at least it is for me lol.

    Thanks for dinner!:)

I agree and you are right, but unless someone has THAT kind of money to "throw around", Why would you pay that amount of money for Mr. Chow Peking duck??? Much better deals to be had elsewhere.

Regarding the cold . . . if it's cold, you can stay inside and/or put on more clothing. If it's hot (like Scottsdale or Ft. Lauderdale where I lived for few years and worked In the days of coat and tie), you don't have a lot of options. Nah, cold doesn't bother me. I was stationed at Great Lakes, IL for 3 years in the 1980s.

Well, I made it back to Las Vegas.
This morning, I got up and after I finished updating my TR with the Mr. Chow dinner, I went to breakfast. Free at the Stockmen's casino.
    upload_2021-12-1_17-24-58.png
Not the most elegant breakfast, but filling nonetheless.
    upload_2021-12-1_17-25-12.png
After breakfast and checkoput, I set out to look at properties. I'm not going to bore you with that, but I will show you a (not so good) picture of the Ruby Mountains.
    upload_2021-12-1_17-25-42.png
The trip home (back to Las Vegas) was uneventful. I took the 40 mile shorter route. The 40 mile shorter route can actually be slower since it enters a whole bunch of small Nevada towns.
One of the small towns that I passed through was Eureka, NV. Here's a pictures of Louie's Lounge (closed)
    upload_2021-12-1_17-26-18.png
    and the local saloon
    upload_2021-12-1_17-26-36.png
In Ely, the Happy Garden restaurant was take out only, so I went to Twin Wok, and had a life sustaining lunch. It was kinda "bad" but I don't think that anyone in Ely would notice.

Stopped for gas at a truck stop right after I saw the sign that said "No gas for 167 miles". Better safe than sorry.
Got to Palazzo, parked in the garage, and walked to and from the check-in desk, hopefully the only time I will need to do so.

It is the standard room at Palazzo, and I forgot that Palazzo rooms have the two steps in between the bed area and the sitting room area. My knee problem includes difficulty in negotiating stairs in the downward direction.
The good news is that I can play movies with a USB stick on the Palazzo TVs.
You need insert your USB stick, NTFS or FAT, movies must be standard .mp4 or .mkv

Then to access press "function" on the remote and then scroll to bottom where it says USB, select that and scroll to "Movie list".
Well, that's it. Time to go downtown for dinner at barry's Prime with @eliza

Yes. I believe those are on the top floors. Considered as an "upgrade".

I think they might be accessible rooms. I was given one once before (didn’t ask for it or an upgrade) and it wasn’t a top floor.

A wonderful dinner with @eliza . She is a real sweetheart! When I got to Circa I first played GoT: Kings Landing and got a bonus, which paid for my share of the meal.
    upload_2021-12-1_21-21-1.png
It took us a while to get seated, but eventually we got seated.

    A bread tray was brought
    upload_2021-12-1_21-22-20.png

We ordered 1/2 dozen West Coast Oysters
    upload_2021-12-1_21-22-4.png
Eliza ordered the 14 oz. dry aged Ribeye
    upload_2021-12-1_21-22-58.png
I ordered the 16 oz. New York it was 2" thick!!!
    upload_2021-12-1_21-23-28.png
For sides we ordered mushrooms and onions
    upload_2021-12-1_21-23-54.png
and we split a loaded baked potato
    upload_2021-12-1_21-24-26.png
We were too full for dessert, since I finished my whole steak!!!

Eliza had things to do and so did I (sleep). I'll make up my play tomorrow . . . . .

No, just a Freudian slip.

I have now decided that I am 99% sold on retiring to Spring Creek, NV and there is no need for me to make another trip there until Q2 or Q3 2022. The only thing that I haven't seen is Elko/Spring Creek fully snowed in. That I can live with.

man your trip reports are so great

I am a really picky eater, but you seem to order a lot of things that I might never try until I see them and you take great pics

I also like how you give a fair shake to places that are not as fancy I suppose based on "expectations" going in or "value per dollars paid"....there is always bad expensive food and there is definitely horrible cheap food, but I think there is room for setting expectations and then deciding if they were met or exceeded (or let down) and going from there.....especially all over small town America where things are just limited at best

I like seeing those small Nevada towns as well that was a bonus in some of your reports

being from the south (Texas :cowboy:) I always think "well you can freeze to death for sure" (for me starting about 50 degrees or colder) and of course you can die of heat stroke, but you never hear of anyone dying from sitting on a warm rock in the shade doing nothing.....so hot most of the year it is for me.....plus snow = no school and or vacation fun or free day off of work.......not pre-work just to get to work or anything else....but I imagine in those places you are looking the snow is more here in a big bunch and mostly gone sooner than later because it is so dry

thanks for the great report and I hope you find a place you really enjoy to move to :D:thumbsup:

    Thank you for the reply.

It's not too late to change your pickiness.

Pick something that you want to try, and go with someone who will/can eat the rest if you don't like it. Explain what you're doing to "broaden your horizons". It's that way with my son. He spent many years with my ex-wife and is not partial to seafood Every time I cook it, I offer him some. Now he's eating fish and chips. I keep trying to get him th "try" an oyster (cooked or raw), and nigiri sushi. It takes time and will power, but think about the taste sensation that you may be missing. The sweetness of raw yellowtail, the texture of salmon eggs popping in your mouth, the sliminess of a raw oyster sliding down your throat!!!

OK, up early. Going to put some time in downstairs since I lost all last night (I slept like a baby I was so tired ands so full).

Breakfast at Ri Ra Irish Pub with VMBer @Marky147 . Perhaps meeting up with VMBer @Gaggles this afternoon. Laundry can wait until tomorrow morning. Will go to the post office today for a box to ship stuff home.

Dinner is at Beauty & Essex with FFGF Vegan Jenny. Another full day!

Great stuff so far @DaiLun! And glad you changed your mind about the game on Tuesday because reading you were planning to parlay it on the Warriors made me cringe!

Well, FFGF Jenny wasn't feeling well and had to cancel, so let me recap today's events.

Got up early and spent about 30 minutes using up my free play. I was completely even after using up the free play. I got some moderate hits after that, but still a loss of about $200.
    upload_2021-12-2_18-12-27.png

First, I went to the Post Office to get a box to send food goodies home, then it was off to Ri Ra at The Shoppes at Mandalay for berakfast with VMBer @Marky147 .

I made it a point to let Marky know that I didn't choose an Irish restuarant just because he's from the UK, and that I understood that English and Irish are two different types of people, and this wasn't like taking a Chinese person to Benihana and expecting them to be "at home".

    Anyway, enough of my insecurities.
    Here is the menu

    https://static.mgmresorts.com/content/dam/MGM/mgmresorts/menus/mandalaybay/rirapub/menu.pdf

I ordered the Irish Breakfast, eggs over easy
    upload_2021-12-2_18-13-23.png
and a side of baked beans
    upload_2021-12-2_18-13-45.png
We chit chatted and Marky told me about himself and his job. He's here until the 4th. Marky is a "good chap". We parted and went out separate ways. Mine took me to a slot machine, the Scientific Gaming version of Wonder 4
    upload_2021-12-2_18-15-28.png
I also played GoT Winter is Coming, and hit a couple of bonuses, but nothing really to speak of.
I then went back to the Post Office and packed one box full of goodies to send home. What WAS two day service has now become three day service, but I can hope for Saturday delivery.
I called FFGF Iris and she wasn't feeling well, which saved me a drive to Searchlight, so I eventually wound up back at Venetian, where I "ground out" hopefully enough play to keep them satisfied.
I had lunch at Hong Kong Cafe (Palazzo)
    Here is the menu
    upload_2021-12-2_18-20-33.png upload_2021-12-2_18-20-45.png
I had the mapo tofu and rice
    upload_2021-12-2_18-21-10.png upload_2021-12-2_18-21-19.png
@Gaggles texted me and let me know that he was at NY-NY. I told him that I was on my way over.
Walking out, I hit another bonus on Jurassic Park (my ATM of the trip)
    upload_2021-12-2_18-22-53.png
@Gaggles was sitting at the center bar. I introduced myself and we spent time chit-chatting. He is a very nice guy and it's highly likely that he's lots of fun to spend time with. We talked about the "state of the state", and "happy wife, happy life", and how Eldorado is trying to drive away all of the (formerly) loyal customers. This went on for about 30 minutes, but I looked at my watch and it was time for me to leave and get ready for dinner.

So, I got a little sidetracked on my way out the door, and I frittered avay $200-300. Eventually, I sat down at a Buffalo Grand machine. After another $100, I finally got a bonus, the mini, and 15 spins. I had 15 retriggers, for a total of 60 spins. What did I get for it? $200.00 There was a guy watching me who's friend was playing the machine to the left of me in the carousel, and he commiserated.

About 5 spins later, I got another bonus. I couldn't believe what I hit on that one:
    upload_2021-12-2_18-29-6.png
Yep, that's right Super with the bonus wheel. Automatic hand pay. Naturally, I was only expecting 2X ($850 x 2 = $1700.00).

After the machine counted up the Super Jackpot of $885 and change, the bonus wheel started to spin. As it slowed down, I got the creepy feeling that I got when I hit the Grand jackpot in Lake Tahoe. It slowed down and stopped on:
    upload_2021-12-2_18-31-55.png
    Yep, that's right, 10X!!!!!!
I immediately "Chan geed" the guy and his partner $100 each. After it counted the $8800 and change, it then prompted me to spin again, and I got 10 free spins.
    Total payout was:
    upload_2021-12-2_18-34-10.png
$8856.10, and I took $4000 in cash and a check for the rest.

After I was paid out, I immediately looked for my host, but she had left for the day, so I have to make a "red envelope" for her and see here when she comes back on Saturday.

I paid off my markers at NY-NY and will pay off my marker at QQQQ tomorrow. I want to start the last 3rd of my trip with a "clean slate" as they say, and a trip to the bank tomorrow to deposit the check.

    And, I still have $1850 in Free Play from HGS tomorrow . . . . .

What a day. FFGF Jenny wasn't feeling well and cancelled for dinner, so I cancelled the reservation. I may go up to Poker Palace to try the $7.98 Prime Rib.

I'm pretty much done with gambling out of pocket. Made it to 58K and change short of renewing Platinum, which I sould be able to do without killing myself.

    Three more days to go . . . . . .

So, regarding the Basketball bet tomorrow. The little angel on by shoulder to me that I should hold some money back and make sure that I come home a winner. Tomorrow's bet will be such that if we win, it will be below the W2-G number.

I'm gonna take a short nap, and maybe just go down to Grand Luxe for dinner
