    My Trip Report

After last trip, I didn’t begin to knowing
That I’d be gone for quite so long
    Was in the spring
And spring became the summer (and fall, and winter and spring and summer and fall….)
Who’d have believed it would take so long

    Hands, folding hands
Grabbing chips, making calls, raising fools
    Sweet Vegas Time
    (bah bah bah)
The strip never looked so good
(so good, so good, so good)
    It’s been some time
Almost believed that I never would….

    But now I
Look at Mirage, and it seems so lovely
All filled with fun that I’m going to
    Losses run off my shoulders
How can I lose when I’m back in you

    Cards, holding cards
Hitting quads, filling draws, got quad 2’s
    Sweet Vegas Time
    (bah bah bah)
The strip never looked so good
(so good, so good, so good)
    It’s been some time
Almost believed that I never would….

    Sweet Vegas time!

(With all due respect, and apologies, to Neil Diamond)

We're back! 21 months after last trip, it's finally time to make a triumphant return! I'll skip the obligatory "what a crazy year and a half, etc. etc." posts. However, I find myself sitting with a ton of vacation time left, and not much year left. The original plan was to head out for the WSOP, but my wife and her mother were taking their dream trip to Ireland, and I didn't want to risk bring back anything that might put their trip at risk, so instead now that they're back, I'm heading out for some post-Turkey day fun!

Ford will once again be joining me. And thanks to a significant pay bump this year, and some recent success at my locals, the bankroll is ready to rumble! Got a one bed suite and limo transport at Mirage once again thanks to my host, and quite a bit of freeplay and resort credit. We have some reservations for the weekend (but we're going anyway *rimshot*) but since we tend to eat at odd times, and like sitting at bars, a lot of this will be last minute decisions.

There are still a couple of Deepstack tourney's at the Venetian this weekend, so will be looking to jump into those. Also cash games around town, probably Bellagio, Aria, and maybe check out resort worlds. There are a ton of restaurants I want to check out, plus old favorites to revisit, so that may be the hardest choices to make all weekend.

On a 7:30a Jetblue flight out of Boston tomorrow morning (first time on Jetblue), and a redeye back Tuesday night. I realize there are a ton of trip reports from some VMB legends going on this weekend, but check back here when you need a poker fix, or pics of quads, and pics of food!

Happy Thanksgiving, VMB. I'm thankful for you!

Is it impressive, or am I weird, that I started reading the poem in "Caroline meter" in just 3-4 seconds?

Sounds like a great trip... have a great time

Made it to Logan in record time. An hour until boarding. So to pass the time, I ask you:

    is chili a soup?

    I did a thing

    046D8ACB-32E5-42DE-BCC4-0A665802CC1F.jpeg

Was only around $500 to upgrade at the gate, and I believe I’ll get $100 back from my even more seat I had purchased. This is nice!!!!

10:30a is a totally respectable time for bourbon right?

    Iowa is 9:30am.

So that means it’s 7:30am Vegas time which means it became respectable about 7 hours and 29 minutes ago. Drink up and enjoy without judgement!

And he still beat me to baggage claim. He did say that all the flights from the east are early today.

Slight detour to bellagio since they gave him the wrong hotel info apparently and here I am. Even through the mask it still smells like mirage.

Rooms not ready yet which is not a surprise so checked my bags and got a new card at the high limit cashier. Apparently they can’t activate free play there though, only at the main cage and there’s a line nsinmade a quick pit stop first. Spins number 4 &5 respectively.
