See ya, City of Angels - I'm off to Sin City (a SoCal to Vegas Relocation Report)

On today's to-do list, we have a mix of fun and "normal" things. There's more stuff that I could use a hand with, to get my house feeling more like a home, and then.....we can play!

On the list:
Make a fireplace console for the living room!
Pet some cats.

Hang stuff on the walls!

Possibly locate an aquarium stand.
Get new shrimps for the aquarium!

Tidy up.
Pet cats again.

Childproof my kitchen cabinets so Jax can't open them.

Last night, I put in $20 on my favorite animals + hats, and cashed out with.....

M and I proceeded to bounce around and do "group pulls" together on several games.

Before that $500 hit, I was probably down several hundred (and I didn't even really plan on gaming! I have a staycation planned soon!)!!

Running a smidge late on the schedule I planned for today, but when you're winning, it's okay.

I grabbed a coffee at Juice Standard and it was real good, had honey at the bottom.

I followed M who was waiting for a Red Bull, and I promptly lost $60. Then my father called and was being a booger about turkey day tomorrow.

Then I said, "You can't be sad boppin' along to Brit", and bounced. Some dude was on the one I usually play, having a good time, so I started off slow on the other ones.

In for $20, here we go.

 

Kicked ass on Britney earlier! In for $20, out for $480! (Up over $500 at one point!).

 

Lost track of where I was on this. To the couple next to us at Bavettes talking shit and rating people on a numeric scale ("best looking guys and girls") you can stop at any time. It's catty and ridiculous.

Seriously though, your voices get low when you're talking shit. And you're in a nice resturant. Come on.

Dinner at Bavettes was very good! Save for the gossiping, catty couple (chick was wicked drunk too - not a good look) next to us, it was an enjoyable meal!

Love the decor and ambiance!




We started off with the baked goat cheese, which was very tasty. But also....very goat cheesy.



And this bread and butter! Yuuuum.

 

M had a cheeseburger and I had some really tasty fried chicken, with olive oil mash, and a tasty gravy with peas and cipolinni onions. The chicken was a great savory entree, spiced and flavorful but not too spicy.



Then we got the truffle mac - our waiter suggested we get it with bacon. The thick, smokey sweet chunks of lardon did not disappoint! Smokey and carmelized and good. The bechamel on the mac was great too, perfectly creamy!

Afterwards, we played some games and I kicked ass on the new LoTR game! In for $20, out for $200!




Then I played Kitty Glitter and it was great!






Now back at Bellagio to play some games!

Happy Thanksgiving VMB! So nice to wake up in my quiet apartment (till Jax comes in the room).


M is kind enough to take me to the airport this morning before I fly to San Diegooo!





This year I'm thankful for the friends that helped me with this move, thankful for a fresh start (despite minor setbacks), and thankful for my awesome new apartment!!!

Now preparing to head home, wondering what the airport will be like! Guess we'll see! Also, it's real cold outside!

 

Must be nice to be from a place where 52 degrees (current LV temp) qualifies as real cold. Have a safe trip.

 

Seated to go to San Diegoooo.

Security was a breeze in terminal 1, though TSA pre-check was closed when I was there. It moved quick regardless!

We got some nice jazz on the overhead, still figuring out what sides I'm making this year hmmm.

Oh yeah, won a little pocket money while waiting. In for $20, out forrrr

 

It was 48 when I left, and I'm from SoCal where we average 70's! Our high is 77! But there's also the wind chill factor that I don't get at home.

 

Damn I can't remember the last time I flew to San Diego. Usually I'm driving or already here!




The flight was a breeze. It is SO refreshing to never ever ever have to deal with LAX again! Holy shit. And I know it's Thanksgiving, but look at this glorious, non crowded freeway!







Now getting my rental car because no one in my family could be bothered to get me from the airport. Baaaaa.
