So, for my upcoming Vegas trip I am at Bally's

If I booked a second room in my name ( for my daughter and BF to stay) I would have to pay standard CET calendar rate, but being a diamond would I have to pay the resort fee on this second room?

Pre takeover a hack existed. I have no idea if it still works. Depending on your trip length and where your staying it may or may not be worth a try.

    Or

You can always have any leftover backend comps applied to the second room

7 stars pay the resort fee on the 2nd room unless you’re a very high 7 stars or your host is great

Well when I go to book the second room, the resort fee is definitely listed on the price breakdown, so I think it looks like I would have to pay it....

Nothing automatic. You can definitely get the second room and resort fee off on the back end or with Rewards Credits.

I just got a room for my friends at Paris at a discounted rate, but they still had to pay the daily resort fee.

I've been getting a suite plus an extra room since I was diamond plus. Never have I paid any resort fees, but I book through a host.

I get that at Paris but when I stayed at Caesar’s in November, I had to pay resort fees on the 2nd room. Since we had no hot water 2 days, and tv not working, I complained and they waived the resort fees.

My experience in AC and LV is the same as @zoey11 Our most recent trip I feel like I kind of hacked the system though. I booked my and my wife's room under my name and then a second room under her name. When we got there I added a guest and my wife to our room. And then when we checked my wife in I added myself to her room and they removed the fees since I was diamond. This was Harrahs LV and has also worked at Ballys AC (when they were in CET) and Caesars and Harrahs AC. At one point I just added my name to a buddy's room and they waived the fees too.

If you are both Diamond - that is the way to go. One room in husbands name, one in wifes name. Works just fine. I usually do not add the spouse to either reservation when I do that. Makes life easier.

@alexm When was the last time your hack worked? Sometimes the front desk will "catch" yours but if yours worked post takeover mine should still work too.
The hack I know required the rooms to be at different properties but the general idea is the same.

Did it a few months ago. The real trick is NOT put the other person on the other room/reservation. Each person is entitled to a room based on their play, but resort fee waiver comes with Diamond Tier.

The system won't let you do it from my experience, and it seems to vary by property. I've had success in the past booking my own room, then asking my host to book another on a offer afterwards. But, I think their system has gotten smarter since.

    Thx
With diamond so easy to earn now it's been years since our group didn't have an "extra" player to add to room.
It's good to know it's still possible if ever needed.
