    My Trip Report

Never been to Biloxi and Kathy and I decided to make a trip for our 45th wedding anniversary.

American Airlines had the best times and prices out of Cleveland to Gulfport. Quick one hour layover in CLT
(Charlotte). Now CLT was one busy airport. We landed in the B gates and had to hoof it to the E gates. It's a good hike even with moving walkways. People everywhere. Got to our gate just in time as they were boarding in 5 minutes. We flew from CLT to GPT (Gulfport) on American Eagle. Smaller plane with about 21 rows and 2 seats on each side which makes it nice and cozy. Landed on time and then the fun starts.

Rented a car with Dollar. Gulfport is a small airport so I figured this should be a snap. Get to Dollar desk and they are closed. So much for Dollar Express. Sign says to go to Hertz counter. Line is about 20 deep and only one gentleman working the counter. He would sign people in and then have to wait for an available car and he would call your name. It didn't go too badly until the last group of people which I was in. Bottom line we were in line at 2:15 P.M. and didn't get our car until 4:15 P.M. I felt like Seinfeld. "But I have a reservation". Nothing we haven't been through as I went through the same crap in Vegas. Renting a car really sucks in this Covid era.

Drive along Beach Blvd. on way to Palace Hotel and Casino.

Palace is the only non smoking casino in Biloxi.

We stayed in a Deluxe King which was quite roomy and had all the ammenities except for a microwave.
I like the vibe of casinos by the gulf. Some pics from Treasure Bay Casino.

    Some pics from Hard Rock:

Christmas in full display at Beau Rivage:

One casino I think I liked the best was Island View in Gulfport.

We ate at The Dockside Deli which had a great view:

They had a festive fall Christmas tree up:
    20211117_153842.jpg

We didn't do terrible gambling Lots of 4 OAKS. One of the better ones.
    20211116_101019.jpg

Of course I got 4 Aces playing a Deuces and Joker wild progressive. If you want to get a quality 4 OAK just switch to deuces wild.

All in all it was a nice change from Vegas but still not Vegas. Each has it's own flavor. Trip home went smooth. Tons of cars in the return car rental lot at GPT when I returned our Buick Encore. Figures. Where were they when I needed one.

Some pics of beautiful Lake Erie approaching CLE and still some fall foilage.

    Home sweet home.

Looking to head to Bixoli in March. Any restaurants you recommend? We are staying at Beau Rivage, but plan to go to the Palace for the smoke free environment. Do you remember the table minimums everywhere? Was hoping to find a few places with cheaper tables.

I ate mostly at buffets and senior 50+ days deals. I also had some perks for signing up for player's cards since it was my first time there. Since buffets are scarce in Vegas, I took advantage of them in Biloxi. Most tables $10 and up that I saw.

What does Business casual mean for Stalla? Do I need a collared shirt? If so I'll need to pack one. Wife and I are t-shirt vacationers.

Thanks for the report. I like Biloxi a lot I just wish someone flew nonstop there or to New Orleans (I don't mind that drive to Biloxi from MSY).

McIlroys is a great restaurant too just down the street.

Have you checked on the MGM junkets out of Cleveland? Looks like they have one Feb 1st to BR.

I’ve never seen Biloxi or Atlantic City junket offers in my MLife account offers, but I get emails with offers regularly. Does any know if they can be found online at MLife?
