Fish and chips from The Fishmarket in Edinburgh. The best fish and chips I've ever eaten and I've been to at least 50 different places.

Haven't been in awhile, but the greatest fast food item was two slices and a can of soda at Two Brother's Pizza adjacent to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC. Two plain slices and a can of soda for $3, this was pre-covid. They had a couple locations in the city. These guys were slinging pies from opening till closing, huge volume. And if the sun was over the yard arm, you could get two slices to go, sans soda, and walk down 9th street to a dive bar: the Holland Bar at 532 9th Ave. They used to feature $2 Michelob Light drafts. What a great start to walking a trade show at the Javits Center.

Honorable Mention goes to the Sausage McMuffin at McD's, still on the $1 menu in some stores. I would sometimes have it for lunch when it was on the all day menu.

Raising Cane's is like crack. I love that place and the chicken is WAY better than CFA's stuff.

    5) Sonic Tater Tots
    4) Taco Bell Chili Cheese Burrito (I have no idea if they even make these anymore but I used to eat them all the time)
    3) Raising Cane's chicken fingers (and fries)
    2) Sausage McGriddle (I thought these would be trash when they first came out but damn they are good)
    1) McDonald's fries. Long live the king.

I'm reading through this thread and just chuckling, not judging. Who says America has an obesity problem!

OK, but back in the day:
Popeye's chicken. I haven't had this since I retired 14 years ago. There used to be one across the street from work, but probably doesn't taste the same anymore.

McDonalds Big Mac and their fries, pre frying oil change. I've had both about 3 years ago and forget it. Neither are the same as I remember, especially the fries!

My fast food frequency is about once every 3-5 years. Now if I had a location near me that served a good Chicago Hot Dog or a deli with corned beef on rye, then it would be a different story. I guess my waistline is thankful.

Now I'm nostalgic for Two Brothers pizza...

I have a love/hate relationship with the McRib. I enjoy eating it, but it always does a serious number on my stomach.

For those who brought up the sadly discontinued Taco Bell Mexican Pizza:

My wife hates Taco Bell, but my daughter loves it. I may try to make this for my daughter and me when my wife goes to Ireland with her Mom mid-November.

Joe, a couple months ago, I picked up a corned beef brisket with the spice packet, the kind the grocery stores have around St. Patty's day. I made it in an instant pot using a recipe I found online, I let it cool down, sliced it up and made a sandwich with good Pechter's Russian rye with the black seeds and dark mustard; it was as good as any deli corned beef.

Sounds good! We buy two briskets around St Paddy's Day and usually make one and freeze one. My wife has been using the slow cooker pot on high for 4 hours and that slices up well. The first time we did slow for ~7 hours and it was good, but just fell apart. Not good for slicing. But, still can't beat a good Jewish Deli sandwich. That's a treat!

    1. Schlotzky's original on sour dough bread
    2. Whataburger with cheese -- when they are on their game - ours is hit and miss. Sometimes the bun is a brick.
    3. Chicken Express Chicken tenders -- if I was in Vegas Original Chicken Tenders would move up - they are the bombdiggity
    4. McDonald's fries - old style
    5. Burger King - the original chicken sandwich

My husband would put Sonic's foot long chili cheese coney in the mix -- :vomit:

Totally arbitrary, regional, and will change based on mood:
    1. Dick's Deluxe
    2. Wendy's Spicy Chicken
    3. Jersey Mike's #13 - Original Italian
    4. Taco Time Crisp Beef Burrito (Taco Time NW, these are only in Western Washington, it's different and not good at the other Taco Times).
    5. Arby's Roast Beef w/ Arby's Sauce
Would totally add Spicy Chicken Teriyaki, but kind of stretching the definition of Fast Food there.
