Long story short, does anyone know where the cheapest room are this weekend even if it off strip. At this point I’m so stressed at work (Covid, budget, reports, etc) I need this weekend to do some Vegas things! Eat, gamble and drink, I’m not going for EDC!
Any tips on finding a reduce rate? I can’t justify $500 on a pyramid room at the Luxor when it’s usually $80 on a non event weekend for me lol
I can afford but it’s hard to justify rate hike but that’s just me lol

I just look at some of the cheaper options I could think off and all are expensive, flamingo, Ellis island, Sahara and Stratosphere

EDC is by far one of the busiest weekends of the year in Vegas. All the more now so because it was cancelled last year and then postponed this year, so there are a lot of girls in SoCal who are itching to get out there. I would not expect to get any sort of deal, unfortunately. I know quite a few people who resorted to just doing an AirBNB, though those are going to be expensive, too.

I didn’t realize it was such a big thing, darn just may have to hit up the local casino and pretend it’s in Vegas lol
Although I don’t think I can walk around outside with a open container freely lol

They get something like 150k people a night, 400k total over the three nights.

Even without EDC, I feel like weekend rates are always this high now. It’s like maybe a few hundred more than normal, but that’s normal rates to me now. I was told there’s a football game and a fight that weekend (was trying to book my free room at Cosmo and they told me it was blacked out lol). Anyways, I don’t have any suggestions other than air bnb. You might actually have luck with that because a lot of people that booked that for EDC are getting cancelled on. Also, I’m currently in Laughlin and it’s way more chill here so that’s an option. There’s a small airport to get here or you can drive about two hours from vegas (not sure where you’re located). Good luck!

Edit to add—someone posted in the EDM groups that they have these week long furnished apartments available. I remember Siegel was a last resort and others like that are nearby. They scared me when I looked at pix so I didn’t bother, but I was told those are way cheaper options than strip hotels. I remember someone here posting about those so might be worth looking into booking a week even if you’re only staying the weekend (might be cheaper). Thx.

"Electric Daisy Carnival, commonly known as EDC, is the largest electronic dance music festival in North America." That according to the Wikipedia. I know nothing of that kind of music.

It is also a home game for the Raiders hosting the Eagles on that weekend.
I am so glad I booked way in advance.
I have 2 nights at 4Q, 3 nights at Fremont and 2 nights at the D.
Plus some overlap at ElCo in there somewhere.

If you can afford it and it's worth it to you, pay for a room and go.

Looks like Park MGM has Hyatt point availability on those nights at 15k points per night. If you have Hyatt points or a chase sapphire card and points that you could transfer, 30k would cover the 2 nights.

I know its not really what you asked, but since you said your goal is to get away and eat, drink, and gamble, have you considered a non-vegas casino resort for that weekend instead? You can certainly get a cheaper rate elsewhere compared to what you are finding in vegas

I'd say wait until next weekend. At least it shouldn't be as busy & it should be cheaper.

Do not stay at a Siegel. They are basically extended-stay properties that cater to transients (of the non-tourist variety). They make the Best Western Kent Narrows Inn look like the Hilton. And they're generally a hike from just about anything you'd want to do. Unless you really, absolutely have to be in Vegas, I would reschedule rather than stay at a Siegel.

The other thing about EDC is that many of the clubs have big-name DJs who are there for EDC and play other nights at the clubs. Thus, not only are there hundreds of thousands of people who are going to the actual EDC up at the Speedway, lots of people come in just for the scene.

I just checked Sunset Station in Henderson... If you're not going to EDC forget it.

It feels like they're just doing it to see if they can get away with it. Any chance it's drop the day before or after when they realize they'll have empty rooms?

Occupancy is likely off the charts everywhere; Vegas is pretty darn close to 100% hotel capacity on weekends even without a big event right now.
