And we're moving ...

I spent a week there in Indian Wells at a golf resort for a conference a dozen years ago... it sure was a beautiful place!

 

You had a chance to get out of California and didn’t take it? You feeling ok?

 

We had dinner at Indian Wells Golf Resort last night.

We've never lived in the valley but we've both been coming down here since we were kids and we've spent way more time here than any other place not called home.

 

Nice! Gotta love a desert sunrise. Especially at Vintage, I'd imagine.

 

I think that’s where we were too. Least that’s what it says on my pictures. Indian Wells Golf Resort… the room was like a little condo/house type thing. The picture was my jacuzzi out the back door.

 

Congrats and enjoy the move. Wife is heading back there on vacation with her sisters this year in late February. I'm more than a little envious.

 

If she needs any tips ... I literally wrote a book -- and heaven knows how many articles -- about the valley.

Love it down there. I'm jealous. My greatest day of golf ever was at the Lawrence Welk course in PS—four birdies and an eagle. Of course, that was in like 1993.

Also jealous because you're right next to Fantasy Springs which still has one of the few actual OTB's in the state.

 

Different strokes ... tribal casinos are of no interest to us, though Agua Caliente serves up a mean burger!!

 

Congrats Ken! Golf heaven down there - many choices and almost year round play! Congrats to T as well for the new job!!

Are you looking all over the Valley, or narrowing to certain areas?

Hey Ken, I'm just in the midst of moving, as well. Two years in Oregon was enough. I liked it but really missed Cali. My daughter and her husband are considering moving (they were the reason I moved to the Portland area) to Canada—they work in tech and can go anywhere. While my dollar didn't translate quite as well on the return, I got a nice spot in Sisquoc on a bit of land. Sisquoc is just east of Santa Maria. My daughter thought I should have downsized, but my dog would have hated that–he's used to having plenty of fence line to sniff.

Good Pinot and Chardonnay grapes in Sisquoc. And strawberries. Congrats. Very jealous of your Central Coast weather. Nothing beats it.
