I found a thread from.a few months ago saying the lounges were open in Atlantic City but with no buffet. I believe it was pick from menu and still free drinks.

Does anyone have an more recent info about the AC CET lounges? Thanks.

Still the same. Lousy food options. Bally's is run the same way.

Ocean and Borgata (MGM) have moved back to really nice buffets in their lounges.

I've been to the Harrah's Laurel lounge several times in the last year. I haven't been there in a month or so, but it has been pretty consistent throughout. I'm going to be there next weekend so I'll update this if anything changes.

Harrah's serves from a limited menu and you still get drinks. The lounge has moved to where the Waterfront Buffet was. I've attached a typical menu from Harrah's from a few months ago. They rotate the selections daily and some days are better than others. Tropicana also serves drinks, but has brought back a very small buffet.

I personally like the Harrah's lounge much better than the one at Tropicana. The buffet at Trop is very limited and the drinks are small and watered down. Harrah's drinks seem to be better and much larger. Despite the fact that it's not a buffet, they're very flexible. For example, I've had people at my table ask for a second appetizer and it has never been an issue.

My experiences with the Harrah's and Caesars Laurel lounges has been that their write-up greatly exaggerates the quality of what you're getting. I fully compared the food to a high school lunch.
No comparison to what you get at the lounges at Ocean and Borgata.

@smerrian I think you are absolutely right, while the food was serviceable, it certainly doesn't hold a candle to what you used to get. We were told by the new head bartender that they are already discussing how and when to bring back their old buffets there simply because the other properties are back to buffets. He said the issue they keep coming back to is supply chain problems where they aren't confident they can keep up a quality supply of multiple food options, and a staffing problem as the buffets each require 2-3 additional buffet staff per shift along with more staffing in the kitchen.

He said the biggest problem they have is that the buffets are closed, because a lot of the daily offerings came through the buffets so they didn't need any more staffing. He said speculation is that the Caesars buffet will be returning after their massive renovation. I'm not sure if that's just towing the party line, but it didn't seem unreasonable. The laurel lounge at Harrah's has moved to the buffet and the party line from the staff there is that the change is going to be permanent and that buffet will not return.

That would be a shame as I always rated the Harrah's-AC buffet #2 in the city behind the Borgata. Friends of ours also liked to meet us there because the Harrah's-AC buffet had crabs legs whereas the Borgata did not.

Admission is $12.50 a head per visit in comps and I felt well worth it. One of, if not the best players lounges I've been to. Good variety, quality and service.
Only complaint would be the menu does not always change daily, but a good variety.

Your card will also discount the regular buffet to $12.50, though no free drinks there. (Charge was less for breakfast, I forget the cost)

I completely agree with you. We loved that buffet. My late mother always had it on a must do for brunch list. For what it's worth Rum Point Crab in Harrah's does all you can eat snow crab on thursdays for like 50 bucks.

I was just there. Thursdays only: $59 plus tax and tip per person...for snow crab. But it's a nice place for real New England style seafood (steamed, raw, not much in sauces) for the true seafood lover. We had comps to burn so we really enjoyed. Great, I mean great not-soggy large peel-and-eat spiced shrimp. Mmm.

We did the steamer pots as well and they were awesome. We have put it on our must do for a reasonable basic seafood meal. It's not dock's but it is excellent

I tried Harrah's lounge for first time since pandemic. As mentioned above, no buffet, menu which I show below. On a Friday late afternoon, lounge is empty. I think nk buffet clears people out of here quicker than before. It's in the old waterfront buffet and the 7* lounge is in the old Laurel lounge, so there's more room.

The drinks were generous pours. The Hennessy pour I received was ridiculously heavy. The pour is on the right with the half eaten salad PXL_20211217_205401789.MP.jpg PXL_20211217_211045604.jpg PXL_20211217_211320135.MP.jpg PXL_20211217_212626233.jpg

It's a decent deal even if you have to pay $10 in comps as I did as burgers are $15 at the burger bar.

I got the salad, eggplant and bread pudding.

I’m surprised at the use of plastic cups in the Laurel Lounge.

The best burger deal is the $8 cheeseburger and fries at McCormick and Schmicks during happy hour. Monday - Friday 3:30 - 6:30.

Might as well update the thread.
Harrah's menu Saturday below. I got lazy taking pics so only got a pic of the tiramisu. My server the first night came quicker with drink refills. This time, I think my server went on break bc she never came back after dropping off dessert.

Also, for some reason they neglected to charge me the $10 in rewards credits this time. I might try to make it over to Tropicana today.

I think I would have liked Harrah's better as the menu today had wings ad an appetizer and BBQ ribs or fried shrimp as entrees (and third item which I forget)?

I took shuttle to try Tropicana after I was reminded by reading this thread that it's small buffet. It was nice to have AYCE but probably just got myself fatter with not much additional enjoyment. There's a sign at Tropicana lounge that states one hour limit I don't know how strict it's enforced as I left as soon as I was done.

You get a small salad plate and one regular plate from server. I imagine one could request more but I didn't ask.

Below are pics of the buffet. I omitted the section that had various rolls and a dessert that was just a repeat of the chocolate cake and cookies. Drinks were served in glassware here. Seemed more crowded than Harrah's. I'm guess bc Caesars hours state till 3pm Sunday so this must be getting both Caesars and Trop guests?

Harrahs has added an "action station" type thing to the 7* lounge that had prime rib this past Saturday. I think there was a station Friday as well but it was something I didn't want.

My host said he's "hopeful" it will re-open for summer, but he didn't sound entirely convinced.
