Patriot and Sneaky Pete on amazon prime.

Although I have seen enough favorite series grow old and perhaps even go on too long, that it is tough to get too worked up over any of these any more. I'd say on the whole there are likely now more shows I wish had been canceled earlier in retrospect than ones I feel died too soon.

Arrested Development I guess. Yes, it came back in a way, but reboots often change the flavor and rhythm of a show and that one could have been quite different if it had just stayed on air.

I can't remember the name of the show and it wasn't great but as a Vegas nerd I enjoyed it. I think it was on 3-4 years ago, it was a comedy about an airline/airline crew that flew in and out of Vegas? Or maybe the crew was based in Vegas? I think it only made it one season, if that.

The original plan was to go 7 seasons like the rest of the series, but it didn’t make it. Maybe it was just the wrong time to give it a go. Personally I liked the first couple of seasons but didn’t enjoy the last two as much.

Weird, I have literally never heard anyone use the long i sound when pronouncing short-lived.

I have always used short i... as in, this thing only lived for a short amount of time, so it was short-lived.

As Catzilla bolded/mentioned, Kidnapped is the name of the show.

Olivia Thirlby was in that show as the kidnapped daughter. She's currently one of the many main cast members of Y: The Last Man (FX on Hulu, not sure if its on regular FX). That's one of the better post-apoc shows on TV/streaming at the moment.

I was an elementary school spelling bee champ fifty years ago and I hate how usage drives the dictionary. I learned to spell dilemna before it became dilemma and souveneir before it became souvenir. The original phrase was derived from the pronunciation of life, but it has evolved with usage. It’s really rare to hear the long i outside of a PBS documentary.

Especially the episode where they all get colonoscopies as a "group" weekend.

I bought bootleg VHS tapes off eBay around 1997 and wound up getting scammed by the seller. I was heartbroken until they released it on DVD about 10-12 years ago: I need to go dig them out of a storage tote and fire them up!
