    Harrah's-AC has 8/5 BP & 9/6 JoB ($1-$10) in the diamond cove. $25/tier

Thanks for another great AC trip report and I agree with your comparison of AC to Vegas. There are also many local restaurants and bars if one wants to get away from the casinos. We caught most of the Penn State-Iowa debacle at the Ducktown Tavern, its a locals spot that features good bar food and about 15 beers on tap.

There are 38 million souls within 150 miles of Atlantic City. In Las Vegas, it's 2.8 million within 150 miles. Unfortunately, the 130 mile drive from New York City to AC can be a white knuckle experience and can be a 3 hour + ordeal due to the high population density. But one of the things that surprises me even more is the number of charters or junkets that are available to higher level players with MGM, Caesars, and Hard Rock. I'm would think more folks on VMB would take advantage of these flights.

If you're vaccinated, masks are optional. I would estimate that less than 50% of folks were wearing masks.

I took this from the Ventnor Pier on Saturday late morning, the storm brought high winds and higher than normal tides with some street flooding.

Enjoyed your TR, thanks for posting.

We just started going to AC on MGM charter flights from our local airport. Our first trip was at the end of July and now we're going back on Thursday. We love it at the Borgata.

Getting from home to the casino is so easy on the charter trips.

With gas prices being outrageous, I’ll consider it next trip especially if you split it with me lol

My last Caesars AC trip I was playing VP downstairs and I ordered a Vodka and Cranberry there was so much ice I got about two mouthfuls of the liquid.
The pay tables are still better than Vegas. My last Vegas trip they lowered some of the 9/6 to 9/5 @ $1:$2/$5 level where I normally play.

I honestly hate the drive. I don’t like to drive in general, but driving with a hangover is the worst.

No mask required period, recommended for unvaxxed. Same rules for the staff, but probably 75% of staff was masked.

Yeah, I tend to avoid mentioning some of those because of the decreased tier credits on the 8/5 and 9/6. The 9/6 DDB is a good game, but I only could find single line and the variance scares me.

This time it seemed like an ice shortage lol. I had a couple drinks that came where I could literally count the cubes and not even get to 10. I played at Caesars High Limit on the triple plays and they did have 9/6DDB for dollars. I don't play that for variance reasons, but I did notice it.

I'm from the DC area, and although we have casinos here in MD, WVA, an Del, I still go to AC quite often. I take the train from DC to Phili, then NJ transit to AC. Leave DC at 5, and in AC at 8:30. I went to Vegas a few times this year and had a good time, but the prices (specifically for food) are ridiculous. I prefer AC not only because I'm in the AC region, but I also go to casinos to gamble, eat, and drink. Not really a show person. I never have to worry about paying anything to eat or drink in AC. The CET lounges still haven't gone back to buffet style, but at least they are still open. My only problem is scheduling my day to get all my comps and offers between Trop, Caesars, Bally's, Ocean, Hardrock, Borgata, Harrah's and resorts. I always have a big fitbit step day on Saturdays there :)

Based on my visit Saturday night, my love hate relationship at Caesars Toga Bar just flipped to hate. I spotted several open seats which in the past has been pretty rare on a Saturday Night, the first thing I noticed is that they removed all the tap handles and no longer serve draft beer. While not the best variety on the island, at least they had one or two locals along with the usual suspects. I ordered a Manhattan (shocker) and received something in a plastic cup on the rocks that was about a 50/50 mix of whiskey and sweet vermouth; I should have specified it "up" in a cocktail glass, my bad. I ordered another one and saw the bartender use a "bar gun" to dispense the liquor, then I noticed there were fewer bottles. I am guessing that they are moving towards metered bulk dispensing and away from free pours except for call spirits. Then towards the end of the night, my wife came over and wanted a beer. I was done my second drink, but the bartender wouldn't comp me since he said it was for my wife, then blamed the "eye in the sky" for refusing to comp me. A Blue Moon was $9, which I paid in RC's. VP at this bar features 6/5 JOB, I was playing Triple Double Bonus and I think it was 7/5, retched paytables that are made slightly tolerable with a real, hand crafted cocktail. Seems as if that's a memory, but I would love to hear from others.

Fuck 'em where they stand, I get better treatment at VP bars at Hard Rock, Ocean (except they have lousy "well" booze), Borgata, Golden Nugget. Haven't been to Tropicana's Ten North Bar in a few months, so I'm not sure if they are still free pouring and using real barware. On my last visit to Harrah's, the VP Bars were shut down.

You may like the most recent change from Caesars (I did) They now give you all your comps and offers at any one of the 3 properties so you don't have to hit all three to piece together a decent daily offer. I noticed you left off Resorts, but if you show them some play you might get some decent gifts and some free play and they are connected to Hard Rock so only a few steps.

The daily comp run has been a big reason we don't play at some of the places in AC, but with the move to only needing to go to one CET property we are contemplating adding Hard Rock into our rotation of CET Ballys Ocean and Resorts.

10 North was pouring both from bottles and guns depending on the request this past weekend, and made a manhattan in a glass (rocks for me). The bartender at toga bar was not a very nice person at all, instead of the initial free drink for a 20 he made me get the light turned on first and then took forever to come back, then second drink took forever, finally I called him out on it and told him flat out I was going to complain about him to my host and his manager, his attitude changed a little, but 20 minutes later my host actually found me at the bar and I did complain and he looked right at the bartender and said "give him and his wife whatever they want, they're both diamond don't worry about the god damn lights so much". I still tipped him well because I guess he was doing his job.

When we were in the diamond lounge the bartender said only 3 bartenders returned from Covid and everyone else was new and terrible.

I know a couple fossils retired from the Toga bar, they liked to chat up their regulars, it seemed as if they all wore blinders and donned neck braces to prevent their heads from swiveling. Frankly, with such poor service, mediocre drinks, and horrible pay tables, there is no reason for me to return. Eliminating draft beer doesn't make sense; it is one of the highest margin products at a bar.

Eliminating or not comping draft beer….they’ve been reading up on some of Boyd’s improvement steps. And not “draft beer” per say but craft via draft. I’m still surprised the Circa doesn’t have a rotating Michigan based draft list as much as the boss loves that state. (Perhaps this is the path of the future….twist top domestics from the major breweries :snore:).

Always enjoy any TR about AC. Given that it is drive-able for us (of course not with the border closures) we have always looked at AC as a great alternative to Vegas. Now we normally include it as part of a longer vacation but still it is drive-able. Well to be technical so is Vegas, but that isn't quite what I mean... We have loved our trips to AC and we don't compare it to Vegas along many levels of comparison but strictly based on gambling we do and we still strongly feel the Borg could easily slip right into the strip and be right at home. At the CET properties drink ordering via machines is a huge plus for us also.

funny you mentioned this. I'm going up this weekend, and I just noticed last night that the offers all say to pick it up from one of the three properties. I do hit Resorts and they have nice gifts and generous free play. I just started going to Resorts during their tier match promotion a few months ago. The walking really increased when Trop was folded into CET. Sometimes I get lazy (or run out of time) and walk from Caesars to Ocean, then catch the jitney to Trop
