    My Trip Report

Tomorrow I leave for another 2-week adventure. Currently packing. Very excited! This is a long time and I don't want a 40 page TR so I will be looking to post things that are different or informational. Pics of PHL...no. Pics of my dying plant (only thing living in my house)...no. LAS...maybe. Things you may not have come across in LV...definitely.

Hotels: I take whatever's free. On this trip I had the luck of V/P giving me teaser offers to try to get my paltry business. :)

    Palazzo
    Bally's (suite)
    Venetian
    La Quinta (suite)
    Sam's Town
    Harrah's

La Quinta? Huh? For some reason room rates on Oct 8,9,10 are astronomical. The best rate I could secure was $250/night at Harrah's using my diamond-elite status (mind you, my ADT got me a comped suite at Bally's for 5 days prior to these dates). Nuts. Wyndham points secured me a free suite at La Quinta so La Quinta it is. Sam's T is only charging me $35 for the night; it's the only room I'm paying for.

    Events/Activities: It's a list, @Flowers would be proud of me. :)

First off is a big VMB meet and greet on Oct 1 at Wynn. Great drinks at Parasol Up/Down.
Next comes the 3-day G2E (Global Gaming Expo) convention. I love this, many do not. Everything casino/resort related. I love seeing what kind of machines and games are in the works for soon release. You get to play them and there's all kinds of swag given away.
Third is Gay Pride. The parade will be downtown Fri, Oct 8 and the Festival will be Sat, Oct 9 at Craig Ranch Park (north of Downtown). Not sure if I'll drive or take the bus.
Bare Naked Ladies is giving a free concert on Fremont that night and if I can get close enough to the venue I'll take in some music.
The next day PrideOutside is having their monthly activity which this month happens to be hiking the RR tunnels of Vegas. Meet-up is near the Lake Mead Visitor's Ctr.
Also on the list to try is Area 15, Lost Spirit Distillery Tour, MGM Pre-Game Beer Garden, Henderson Museum, and, of course, Hawks.

Food: I have a lot of comps I want to burn. I have a lot of local places I want to try. I can usually only eat 1, sometimes 2, meals per day. It's challenging to get it all in.

    My goals are to hit:
    L'Atelier (Robuchon)
    Bardot
    Amalfi
    Mizumi
Knock some of the local places off my 4-page list.

Gambling: My goal is to do half as well as I did this past summer. (3 royals totalling $12,000 and a roll at craps that everyone wishes for. I was down to $100 prior to my roll.) Also, not to get so stupidly drunk that I walk into the pool with my phone in my swimsuit pocket. That was horrible. Also, not to get a flat tire with my rental car.

Lastly, Flight is being paid for by CET. I'm leaving them so I don't expect this again. Car rental was a full-sized, $399 for 2 weeks. My overhead for the trip is about $600...if I don't gamble and only eat off of comps. Ha ha, like that'll happen.

Good Luck, at least at LaQuinta you will get a free breakfast, coffee maker, probably a microwave and small refrigerator. I was going to suggest getting a can of Fix a Flat at Walmart, but maybe that would make things worse when returning the car. Here is a short article about what to do with a rental car flat tire. https://blog.autoslash.com/pardon-me-friend-can-you-spare-a-spare/

I'll be downtown quite a bit. I love playing the vp paytables and will try to take advantage of 4Qs and D/GG offers. Plaza and California also have vp I like to play. As for craps...ANY TIME, ANYWHERE. LOL. I'll PM you closer to the dates.

I think we'll both be at Bally's at the same time. If the weather's nice, wouldn't mind another visit to the pool if you're interested.

Actually, the flat turned out to be not so bad. It did take up a full day...7am-5pm, but only cost me $100 and everything clicked. It happened at Bridger St a couple of blocks south of Fremont. I did take my AAA card with me but I had left it in the room at Bally's. So, it was the Deuce to Bally's, get the card, the Deuce back downtown and a call to AAA. They came and changed my tire 20 minutes from call to done, amazing. A drive to Budget near Orleans on Tropicana and they told me they use Discount Tire at Tropicana and Eastern and that it would be much cheaper just to do it myself...which I did. $100 for a new tire, balanced and ready to go. All very smooth.
Lessons learned: Always carry your AAA card with you. If you get a flat just get it fixed yourself; it's much less hassle for you and the car rental company (no incident report).

This might not be the only reason for the very high rates, but the Raiders are playing the Chicago Bears Oct. 10th.

    Have a great time!

Mizumi was my favorite meal during a trip to the Wynn in June/July. Absolutely amazing. Enjoy!

Just what the Dr ordered. I could use a good TR for my birthday.

    Safe travels
