Does anyone know if these are open at the moment? I know they're generally not advertised so I'm not even sure who to call there to find out their current status. Thanks!
Walked past the Lux VIP lounge yesterday morning on the way to our Uber. Closed, the whole area is a ghost town, nothing opened there. Unsure about Excalibur.
Confirmed. In general, high limit service in this places is weak, with the Luxor HL bar closed on what looks like potentially a permanent basis.
I was going to say that in my experience the lower down the hierarchy you go, the worse the VIP lounge is. Based on what you get at their mid-tier joints, I imagine the Excal must offer you a dixie cup to fill at the water cooler in the corner...
that's annoying that the one in the luxor is closed still. It wasn't much but after getting in was nice to be able to check in quickly without the app or standing in a long line and more important to grab a water or soda or two on the way back to the room.
What do you mean by VIP lounge? For check-in? Or like one of those places to hang out and drink? What player status are we talking about?
Both Excalibur and Luxor have priority lines at the frontdesk for faster check-in. Not exactly the full VIP lounge check-in experience but that should work for most. I shall go on a quest and find these alleged VIP lounges today.
Some call it a lounge. I do not. They are glorified checkin rooms. Mirage has one with a couple couches/chairs and there is beer and wine available most of the time. Not a place to hang out. M-Bay has a room. Again, no place to hang out. NYNY has one. You can ask for a drink and they go into the back room to get it. We only have gotten water, coffee, soda and wine. Seating for 4-6 people. Bellagio does have much nicer ones, but still more of a checkin thing.
The one at Luxor is on LL just inside the north valet toward the west end. There's a whole checkin desk down there for group tours as well. In the before times, busses and tour groups would arrive at the north valet and the groups would check in at the big second lesser known desk so they wouldnt have bus loads of people hitting the front desk. The VIP check-in lounge is opposite that tour group checkin desk.
There used to be a VIP lounge tucked inside the Excalibur high limit room. I never went in nor did I really see it open or anyone go in. I couldn't imagine it was ever staffed. If I end up that way this week I may take a look.
Ahhh, so the rumor that sprinkle transmission of Covid is more prevalent than droplet and aerosol transmission is true then.
I'm surprised by them actually reopening. I really thought it was gone forever. The hours make me LOL a bit but good to see one can get a soda (don't drink much coffee) in the morning and grab a few bottle waters in the afternoon to put in the room.
