My wife and I are coming to Las Vegas for just one night. We arrive around 4pm on a Friday and then we go back to the airport at 7am Saturday morning, so this is not much more than a long layover.

Since we arrive at 4pm on a Friday, I am concerned that the regular check in lines might be nuts. We are Gold members with MGM, so I am looking for properties that offer a separate check in area or line. I recall seeing one a few years ago at Mandalay Bay. Do other MGM properties offer a separate check in for gold members?

Have you thought about checking in with the APP and skipping the lines?

They all do except Delano for some reason. There’s a VIP room but it’s for invited/hosted players. Luxor, Park, MGM Grand, Excalibur, Mirage for sure. I’ve used the room at MGM Grand and lines at others. Not sure about Bellagio but I’m sure it does. Not sure about Signature.

If it’s just one night, you can try the mobile app and just do it the night before. They will give you a random room as early as 9am. You can either use the digital key or get a physical key at a kiosk. If you don’t like the room, just go to the front desk and get a better one.

I would check in VIA the app like Dailun said. If you prefer a real key you can skip the lines and use the kiosk to make one.

I must admit that I am not that cool and have not thought of using the app. I like to speak to a person and request a quiet room, such as not connecting to another room as they tend to be louder. Thanks for the tip. That is worth considering.

The app has none of those details and doesn’t give you a choice. They can be the worst rooms that they want to get rid of. I’ve gotten a few of them but I love using the app for checkin.

Aria had a separate desk beside the main check in area for Platinum or Noir (it's now the concierge desk), or had a line at the regular desk separate for Gold or higher if the other one was closed. 3 weeks ago when I checked in, neither of those were there. Mind you I was checking in at 1pm and it wasn't busy (I was #3 in the regular line) so maybe they do something when it gets busy.

Yes there are/were dedicated lines for either Gold or Platinum or higher, but unless someone has some recent knowledge, it may not be the same as before.

And the Gold line could be longer... it just all depends.

I get you want to talk with someone, but I would have the app ready just in case the lines are all long.

Spoke with a staff member at Park MGM who said the app. assigns ready rooms from the bottom floor up...
Being that a short overnight stay I wouldn't worry about views.

Aria had a dedicated Gold or higher line as of the last week of August. Used it when I was checking in. Had one person ahead of me, the normal check in line had like 30.

Yes they have an invited guest line and a VIP lounge as well.

Not sure if you have to be coded by a host to be able to use the lounge or not, but gold/platinum can obviously use the invited guest check in line.

Your requests are exactly why we don't use the app.

I always use the app to check in now.

When I book my reservation I just add “non connecting room” to the special requests section and they always give me one.

Checked in to Mandalay Bay the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Got the message that my room was ready while I was on the plane at 10:10am EST (7:10am PST). Can’t beat that.

I think that most of them do. I know Aria has an "invited guest" line for Gold members and Mlife credit card holders. And then Plat and Noir can use VIP check-in.

Bellagio also has the priority line for gold and up that I've used post pandemic.

Luxor has the MLife line - I always use it so I can make sure I'm in the West Tower especially during pool season
