Anyone make the walk from Rio to Bellagio around midnight? I've driven this path many times at night, but didn't really pay attention to the foot traffic. Anyone make this journey? I know it's like 3/4 of a mile...just not sure if the riff/raff roam this area.

I'd say it's a little farther than that. Depending on what part of what casinos you start at and what part of what casino you end at, it could be as much as a mile and a half.

Not aware of any "riff-raff" that congregate or "hang out" in that area.

No, I would not do it at midnight, I would not do it at dawn, I would not do it with a hat, I would not do it with a bat, I would not do it with a friend, I would not do without a friend…I would not do it:)

More like a mile, but more important, a very busy mile. One of the most dangerous pedestrian stretches in town. Rideshare, taxi or bus would be the safer choice.

I have made that walk once and as I was 1/4 into the walk i was saying to myself - what the F**k was I thinking. Definitely use rideshare, taxi or bus

it's not the distance or riff-raff. It's the traffic. It's not pedestrian friendly.
At night with poor lighting, it's much worse.

Have done it before... a bit long, but nothing there to bother you. The sidewalk is on the Caesars side of the street, so you have to get over to Bellagio side at some point

I did it during the day, actually from Palms but basically same route. I wouldn't do it again and I love walking. Too much traffic. There is a homeless/tent area under the overpass but it didn't concern me.
I would just take a cab.

Drive this route quite frequently and would say the traffic is the number one reason i wouldn't recommend it. Just this past week right at the light in front of Rio before the over pass heading towards the strip this group of idiots just strolled right out in front of me. Luckily i always anticipate this from tourists but ill say they are/were extremely lucky it was me paying attention and not some drunk or anyone not paying attention as i had the right of way and it was to the point i had to come to a complete stop and lay on the horn. Theres stories everyday on the news here about someone getting hit/ran over here.. its just became the norm now unfortunately and not even a big headline as its so common now.

I made the walk once, way back before ride sharing. Plus, I was too cheap to pay for a cab. It didn't look that far (naivety at its best). By the time I made it back to the Flamingo, I was sweating my ass off despite it being December. I must have looked like a crazy person to the woman at Flamingo that checked me in.

No. If you can afford to go to Vegas pay an Uber or taxi and save the grief for some other time.

There is a walking path for half of the walk on the Caesars side of the street.

Ive done the walk from Caesars to rio a couple of times. Cars go by quick as you’re walking before you get to the walking path.

I would do it, but I am mid 30's and don't always make the best decisions. It's one of those things you can do 999 times without an issue, but the 1000th time could be trouble. The pedestrian bridge that shoots out over the highway is a homeless haven, at midnight it could be packed with the people that you don't necessarily want to see.

I made the walk during the day (in the winter, so not hot), but crossing the on ramps to the interstate at night could be dicey because drivers sure aren't looking for pedestrians (or fully stopping for red lights). The 202 Flamingo bus ($2) is also an option, but check the on-line schedule so you don't waste a lot of time waiting for it. That would be easier on the trip back, as you don't have to walk across Flamingo (bus stops in front of Rio going west, Palms side going east).

The 202 bus runs 24 hours a day, every 30 minutes overnight after midnight, can always kill time at CP or Bellagio and get to the stop 5 minutes before it leaves. Rio is literally the next stop, but given the freeway crossing it's probably much safer than walking especially at night with limited lighting when there might be impaired drivers.

I've walked/ran all over DT, the Strip and beyond and rank this stretch as one of the worst.

Besides the sketchy/dirty pedestrian walkway, there are many places along the sides where people live. I walked the route once during the day to go to El Pollo Loco. Not a good idea at night. If the traffic don’t get you, the people will and pull you down into the tunnels to be one of their own.
