Welcome to the Board, Nick! :D

My family and I escaped from Wisconsin and moved to Vegas about six weeks ago.

Have a great Halloween trip! You will always remember your first trip. May it be the first of many!

Welcome to VMB. Always great to see a fellow Floridian here.

As far as advice for your first visit I’d say do a deep dive into the threads regarding the hotel you’re staying at and anything else that grabs your attention. More importantly, don’t be afraid to ask questions in those threads. There is almost unlimited knowledge here regarding all things Vegas. People will be more than happy to give you a hand and provide top-rate advice.

Best bet on Covid is to look for updates on Sonya's Covid thread right here on VMB. It is Vegas specific and as up to date as possible, and she is assiduous about accuracy. Avoid getting info by word of mouth, other social media, etc.

    Welcome to the board!

I enjoyed Vegas during the toughest restrictions (other than the shutdown), and believe you'll have a blast.

Recommends? Are you planning on gambling, seeing shows, having nice dinners? Which hotel are you staying at?

    Welcome to VMB!

As far as recommendations, my top one would have to be read and search the board. There's a wealth of information here.

Also, Halloween is a good time in Vegas. I encourage you to consider a costume. :)

Welcome fellow Floridian! Spend your down time researching - these friendly board fold know everything! And I’ve been to Vegas during Halloween- take a costume - you will see it all! As for COVID measures just use common sense, wear a mask if required. I was there in May and had a great time even though a lot of things were still closed. It’s much better now! You’ll have a blast!

Welcome Nick to VMB ! Let me add encouragement for you to take some sort of costume for Halloween. I think it’s one of the most fun times to be in Las Vegas.

Welcome! I'm actually moving to South Florida soon, looking forward to it.

I just wear a suit all the time, at least on Halloween they think it's a costume!

Welcome to the board! Lots of recommendations out there, just have to give some insight to what's being looked for.

    Welcome fro central Florida.
My recommendation is to try and be specific with question.
Asking “Where to stay?” results in too many replies to read.”
Asking “Where to stay with best pool?” Is specific and results in useful replies.

Hi Nick, welcome to VMB. We made the move from Bonita Springs to Las Vegas 2 1/2 years ago and Love it. If you need some help give a shout out.

And "what's a good restaurant in Las Vegas?" results in countless regulars facepalming.

Seriously, welcome! As @Sonya put it, there's an enormous wealth of information out here, and most importantly, for every type of experience you're curious about, there's probably someone here who knows about it. From $5 craps, to $10k/hand baccarat; from people who love to gamble, to people who really only go to Vegas for the pools, shows, shopping, and/or nightlife; it's all here.
I'll second this on Covid, and would add that October 2022 is a long, long time away. Regarding Halloween next year, it's on a Monday, so it'll probably be a packed weekend, and both that and EDC tend to be madhouses. However, most of the crowds there are less inclined to gamble. A lot of the bars and restaurants have patterns based around when nightlife events are starting and ending, and if there are particular things you had in mind, I'd just be sure to plan ahead.
