I am writing this quickly as I am finishing packing up at my apartment in Downtown Dallas. This trip has been years in the making. Not only has it been 2 years, 1 month, and 19 days since I have ventured to Vegas (that is 781 days for those counting).

But 5ish years ago Iowa State, my alma mater, announced a road game at UNLV at the beginning of the 2021 football season. So my old college roommates and I circled September 18th 2021 on our calendars and we've been semi planning this ever since. That is the true purpose of this trip but I decided to go 10 days early and enjoy myself after the shit show 2020 and 2021 has been so far.

So what are we gonna do? I have no idea but I have moved a significant amount of money to my gambling funds as I have saved up and I am ready to do some damage. The only real plans is to bet big, eat lots of food, and FOOTBALL! Everything else is gonna be like a lazy river, just go with the flow! IT'S VEGAS BABY!

Here's the high level hotel stays

9/8-9/10 - The Cosmopolitan on an Offer Match from Kevin Sweet. Should have a fountain view room
9/10-9/15 - Planet Hollywood Ultra Hip Suite. This will be my first time staying at PH so I am excited to see how it is
9/15-9/19 - Delano Two Bedroom Suite. This is when the boys come to town so I got the biggest comped suite I could get for myself. Should have plenty of bed space for the 6 of us. This is the first time at Delano but have stayed at MB before. Bonus points for being the closest hotel to the stadium!
9/19-9/20 - Resorts World Conrad. This is not comped but technically free because of my $200 credit from my AMEX Platinum by using their Fine Hotels system. I should only have to pay the resort fee. Wanted to check out this new resort!

I am gonna get a shower beer ready and clean myself up before my flight which is in a few hours.

    LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Oh and I plan on keeping it as live as possible but after the move to Delano on 9/15 it's liable to be a shit show since the 6 roommates haven't been in the same room since college. So those days might be a... little.... sporadic.

Uber driver decided to take the express lane because why the fuck not. If you’re not familiar with Texas highways. There’s almost always an express lane in the cities and it’s basically no speed limit but costs money. Today is a $1.40 but I’ve seen it well above $10 if there’s weather and an accident.

Made it from me ordering my Uber downtown to the airport through security and into the Delta Sky Club in 35min. I live 20 miles away. Not too shabby.

Got a light lunch of minestrone soup, some cheese and tomatoes, and beer of course. A local beer called Deep Ellum IPA. One of my favorites

Made it on the plane after a few drinks in the Sky Club. The bartender was a singer and guitarist. Plus we discussed football and baseball. He was way more chill than the bartender I usually dealt with lol

First class is slightly empty and I hope it stays this way. Also they are boarding back to front after first class got settled.

I am flying from DFW to SLC and there’s a ton of Mormon youth on this flight. So I’m gonna have to drink enough for everyone

    Sandwich or salad?

I took the sandwich. Should've gotten the salad or just ignored it. But got a double Woodford on the rocks so we good!

Made it to Salt Lake. Landed at their beautiful new terminal. It's crazy good besides the classic alcohol options which is what it is. It is Utah after all.

Got a local beer at the California pizza kitchen outside my gate while I wait for my plane.

Women next to me ate 90% of her spinach artichoke dip. Drink 90% of her beer. Then said "I'm not a fan of either, is there a way to replace these?"

Ah she's one of those people....
