Hi all, have a long solo trip coming up this weekend where I'll have the Fri-Sun period to enjoy myself all day. Mon-Wed will be working from the room in the morning / afternoon and then off to do some gambling in the evenings. The wife is staying home this trip so I have ample opportunity to explore new locations for our next couples trip in December.

I love beer and I love VP. I'll be staying at Bally's this trip and have honestly never really found a good spot there that I like so usually just hop over to the Cromwell bar or Cosmo sports bar area. I used to love the bar at the Linq but now that all of the craft beer is gone I don't see the point anymore. I also like the Harrah's VP bar at the food court but that's mainly because it's a No-Smoking area.

What are your favorite places on the Strip to play VP and bonus points for any locations that have a good beer selection. A good selection of comped bourbon or scotch is also a plus. I usually play at CET (Cosmo being the rare exception) but am thinking of giving some MGM properties a shot this trip. If anyone has any good spots that they wouldn't mind sharing that would be awesome.

Side note: I may head downtown one night so if there are any particular VP bars I should check out there with similar criteria as above let me know. Thanks!

If you're willing to venture one block off strip, Pub 365 at Tuscany has a great beer selection with 9/7 DB on bartops.

I believe they comp all draft beers as well as bottles up to a dollar amount ($10?).

Thanks for the advice on the ticket stacking. I thought about that last trip but didn't care much for the whiskey choices at the Sports Book. Planning to find a spot at Chandelier Bar this weekend so hopefully will have better luck there.

Appreciate the heads up! I'll definitely take a look.

Forgot to add O'Sheas to the list of places I like to frequent. When we were there in June they didn't have Guinness for some reason and the place was relatively dead. Also the bartender told me they're completely getting rid of the live music scene (the stage has been replaced with some kind of slots) so have a feeling the vibe is about to change for the worse. Thanks for the tip on Whiskey Down. I was planning to spend some time at MGM so that's good to know.

Venetian has some decent pay tables, wide selection of drinks, and not uptight with comping drinks. Also the Stage door directly across from Ballys i believe was 9/5 last time i was there and a total 180 from Venetian if you're looking to get loose with it lol

I think Sport Book bar at Bellagio deserves a mention. Each machine has it's own progressives, so you might find a gem. I was usually able to find a $1 in the $6000 range. Bonus poker is 7/5. I remember Space Dust and Stella on tap.

I have indeed found myself there in the past, with a few whiskies on board, yelling at my Red Sox on the TV in front of me!

Wynn doesn't comp drinks at VP bars if that is a concern.

They do at Charlie's, and only Charlie's, for over 2 years now. I haven't heard anything about that policy being revoked.

Reason I mentioned Charlie’s. Was there in June. Still comping at the bar.

West bar, Park MGM. Not for the pay tables, but for the customer service.

Unfortunately Bellagio replaced their Sportsbook VP bartops when I was there in May and they no longer have individual progressives on the Royal. Good news is the the paytables are the same, which are better than most VP bars on the strip

    99%+? Hahahaha

But if you can afford the $5 level, Cosmo has 9/6 DDB and 9/7/5 DB at all bars. And the high limit bar only there also has 8/5 BP and 9/6 JoB.

For dollars you usually can find 7/5 Bonus and 9/5 DDB for the above bars that are NOT in CET casinos. And not Rhythms and Riffs either. Also Center Bar NYNY, the IGT units only offer 8/5 DDB for dollars. 9/5 DDB for $2+ (at least the last time I looked, it's been quite awhile).

For quarters, MLife will offer 6/5 Bonus and usually 7/5 DDB, except Bellagio sportsbook which is 8/5 DDB. CET is 30/6/5 Bonus and 7/5 DDB for ANY denomination. I will usually play 6/5 Bonus w/STP (97.14%) for one line there instead. Cosmo is the best choice for single line quarters, they have 6/5 Super DDB (97.69%) 20/9 Double Bonus Deuces (97.68%), 6/5 Bonus and 8/5 DDB. Also on their Superstar units they have 8/5 Bonus Deluxe with STP (97.67%) and 9/5 TDB w/w/Double STP (97.51%) and 6/5 Bonus w/Double STP (97.36%).

For drink quality vs. payback, The Chandelier is your best bet imo. The only annoying thing is the "ticket system" at Cosmo. But they don't use it at the high limit bar.

Agree w/Tringlomane, my favorite Strip VP bars were chosen by the location, vibe and bartenders I enjoy being and playing at and not by the paytables, which are mostly mediocre to terrible

Now if you had asked for favorite non-Strip Vegas VP bars you would get a list of both (fun and great paytables)

Rematch bar at Linq is one of my favorite afternoon spots. Its open to the strip so great people watching and not feel like you’re in a dark casino all day. Pay tables are crap though.
