I sent our host our Sept dates and she got back to me that both Cal & Fremont are sold out every weekend in September. Back to MSS, I guess. Virus, what virus?

Travel is for 9/24, so it was a month notice and they are booked. I sent her our Oct dates and we'll see what happens there.

The remodeled rooms at the Cal are just nicer. Walk in showers, bigger TVs. The suites at MSS, you still have to step into the bathtub to take a shower and the shower head is so low!

Yeah, downtown sells out on the weekends but is fairly open during the week. At least that's what I've found during my trip planning.

My last four trip, the last almost two years ago, no shower head problems. I'm just shy of six foot and all were fine. Three were renovated and the last had a tub/shower, but otherwise, sure look new. Tile, paint and carpet all looked new.

Just thought of something. Hawaiian charters start back up in Sept, which might be why they're full.

Fremont has several floors closed for renovations so that also adds to it.

Is that tourists coming in or Hawaiians going out. If it's the latter, that's huge.

Vegas Hawaiian charters don't fly tourists from NV to HI, they fly Hawaiians to NV and home again. So they shouldn't be effected by the governor's statement regarding tourism.

Boyd has tried to launch the opposite charter, NV to HI, but it never seems to gain enough traction. I believe they've got some kind of partnership with Hawaiian Airlines now though.

If it doesn't affect outgoing charters, it won't hurt.

This is what I see for the Cal, 9/24-9/27 on the Boyd app using the “book online for lowest rates” link. So not totally sold out.

That’s a little pricey…so I’m paying a little less than that. This is the weekend that the Golden Arm Craps Tournament is on at the Cal. I imagine that many of the rooms will be taken by a number of players, but doesn’t explain why all the rooms seem to be such high pricing. Probably the combination of events that everyone has mentioned.

I'm staying Thursday the 23rd and Friday at Fremont. Including RF, $238. Have not stayed at a Boyds prop in quite some time, but still what I consider decent pricing for two nights.

FF8642E4-E666-4004-AF0F-F03A922DA8D8.png It’s not a suite but that deluxe is available for comp that weekend. Have never stayed in the deluxe rooms so don’t know if it’s better than a suite at MSS. Hopefully your host can slide you over to the Cal if a comparable room opens up.

This thread prompted me be proactive and email a host at the Cal for our November trip. It is over a weekend so I asked if we could secure rooms for that weekend so we didn't run into this issue. He emailed me back right away and now we have 4 nights comped! I was really only looking for reservations and would have worried about getting our rooms comped on the back end.
