That’s because the son, Mr. Pappageorgio, was “in software” from Yuma and hacked/broke the code to know when the slots would hit.

Or showing a cold craps table with somber, depressed players with the only one smiling is the boxman.

The Vegas ads reminds me of those Rockwell photos of a family all beaming around the Thanksgiving Turkey as Father prepares to carve it.

Everyone is smiling broadly. Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Clem and Auntie Beth, the kids, even the cat.

Not to beat up on a dead animal, but I think the guy is raking his chips as he won the hand. Not sure everyone doubled vs just got paid. But to get 8 green chips for blackjack if 3:2 he musta bet 80$. Dealer just made change vs 2 blacks(?). For a 200$ return. Which IS good advertising as it couldn’t be 6:5….his bet woulda been like 90$&92cents as best I can calculate.

I love advertising…..everyone  is young :shy: and good looking, .+ they’re successful well adjusted adults… as common in real life as the average American looking good In the latest fashion runway attire…..does this dress make me look……?

were you on Fremont last Tuesday because all of these things happened!

also no one dresses up for dinner and the ads are super confusing that way; we got dressed up based on a hotel podcast for an expensive steakhouse and we were wildly overdressed

It would be interesting to see if table players' gambling bankrolls have increased in proportion to the increased minimums at the tables.

Hey, I always wear a three-piece suit when I go to Picasso! And I was just at lunch yesterday in a blazer and tie (though admittedly I'd just gotten off a Zoom interview).

@bubbakitty makes a good point, given that other players have multiple stacks in front of them, it was probably after the hand was complete. But I highly doubt anyone in real life would use that many greens to bet that way, especially since they seem to have pretty arbitrary amounts.

I'm going to kick that dead horse again and say that since his cards are still showing he didn't get paid and cannot touch his chips, he can easily be adding more chips to his winning hand while he plays with them waiting to get paid.... I do wonder who the hand model for that ad was???

If casino marketing was honest, people would never gamble.

I got an ad in the mail for comps at Belterra in Indiana yesterday and my fiancé says “No one this good looking has ever stepped into that smoky pit… I tend to agree

The big shot with the Queen of hearts (Juice Newton)...that does happen in Vegas.

In fact, it happened at the Golden Gate about three or four years ago.

I got on a really nice run and won six or seven hands in a row. My buddy Gary Busey told me to bet it all and, being drunk and always giving in to peer pressure/easily influenced, I double stacked all of my chips in the circle, there. It was at least two hundred fifty bucks...all reds.

I got a face card followed by a 5. Dealer showing a face card, but no BJ. I hit it and got a face card.

I lost....which is how I usually roll out there in the Clark County.

    End of fascinating story.

I think he got paid even money for his BJ, and he's shuffling his winnings with his original bet to let it ride. The dealer just hasn't swept his cards, yet. The guy to his right has his money already out to split his face cards, and the guy to his right is doubling down on what looks like a hard 18.

I dunno, I've seen people on cruise ships play kinda like that! :goofy:

These Vegas gambling ads are no different than car ads. Car ads always have the disclaimer to not try this at home, professional drivers in closed course.

Same as Vegas ads. It doesn't have to make sense. Just have to get you excited so you bite the bait.

I've seen a ton of ads like that... I notice how much fun they're having and how hot (or not) the ladies are... never once noticed their wagers!

People in the ads always dress like the Kardashians and look like they're having the absolute best time of their lives. I guess that brings more people in than truth in advertising...

If they are playing stacks like this with only nickels on the table, aint no way there isnt money on the Lucky Ladies side bet

This makes me think of some of my pre-vegas movie playlist options. Like Vegas Vacation - where the chips that are on the line and bets in the craps scene (and even BJ) don't make any sense. I think at one point there's black chips on PL without any odds and all kinds of crazy stuff.

It always gives me a bit of a chuckle.

Seeing photos like these just make me want to go the days of playing "caption this." I can only imagine what he's saying and what she's thinking.....:goofy:
HIM: "Sorry honey but all the quarters are gone, you know what that means."
HER: *Thinking she has to go home with him but praying there's more quarters to be found so she can drink more* "I know...."

But my favorite (as a craps player) is how they portray the craps table to be full of:
    girl-playing-craps.jpg

But in reality this is what you see:
