I made an over under W/L futures bet in MLB, that is looking pretty solid.

Specifically the bet is an UNDER in terms of win totals.

Let's say as an example, I bet under 90 wins. Let's say, the team in question has 80 wins and only 9 games remaining on their schedule, thus making it impossible for that club to achieve 90 wins.

Will a sports book cash that ticket for you EARLY, before the season actually ends? Or do they make you wait until the season is finally and officially over?

I appreciate the help, THANK YOU!

Without a doubt no. There is a market I believe you can sell your ticket to though. Google it and you’ll find it

So bet the under on the Dodgers? It's okay, you can tell the rest of us degenerates. :D

Is it 160 min games played for it to be 'action'? It's rare for a team to play less than 160 games, but pray for no late-season rainouts and/or COVID cancellations.

Also many tickets become void if a certain number of games are bit played. I don’t know the exact number, but for instance a team may need to play 160 out of 162 baseball games for the ticket to be valid. If a team gets its last 10 games cancelled due to Covid or other, the ticket may become void.

I was clued into cashing early when I took the over of a Minnesota Twins game in the late 80’s. It was like 9-4 in the 5th. Well over. “You’ll have to wait bub “ the guy said. The attitude seems to be we have nothing to lose in waiting for the conclusion as the outcome could always be effected by outside drama…..rain, forfeit, etc.
    So I waited. :)

It was a bet on the Cardinals, under 88 wins.

This is the correct answer. The issue is they will cancel BOTH sides - even a side that would have lost without the impact of canceled games. The specific games needed, terms, etc. is a house rules question and you'd need to go look at the relevant sports book's rules.

Its their longest winning streak in 20 years!!! I have the under at 86.5, so maybe I still get lucky with that half game. But two weeks ago I had already chalked this one up as a win in my mind. What a tremendous run!

Yeah, my focus has now turned to Oakland. If they continue to falter down the stretch, I might win that under and make up for the St. Louis wager that seemed so certain a few weeks ago

13 in a row now. Eerily similar to 2011 when they were enormous dogs with about 10 games to go and ended up winning the World Series. I don’t want to erroneously remember the odds but they were huge. If you bet them two weeks ago, you probably got a nice number.

Not quite 2 weeks ago, but I bet them to make the playoffs on September 15th at +210.

And in 2011, I had bought tickets for a potential tiebreaker game. We ended up going to Game 1 of the World Series instead. Glad I did it then because I'll likely never do it again. Sports tickets for championship series are just ridiculous now, imo.

the value on the Cardinals when they're running good is weekday LCS games non-clincher games.

FYI - at least for the Stanley cup, waiting until gametime and buying on stubhub was the play. It was a lot cheaper than 3 hours before the game. Drive down, park, and then buy right around puck drop. I paid $500 a piece for two club seats with the food and drink in 2019.

Baseball is cheaper to get into given the number of seats and the history of STL going to the World Series (or it was in recent years here)
