We have decided to switch my CET 7* Retreat trip from Vegas to AC and will be there for four nights over the labor day weekend staying at Caesars in an ocean view Centurion tower room. My adult sons will be joining us and have their own room.

I have already status matched to MLife Plat but was wondering if there will be other AC status match opportunities that would offer immediate benefits. Any advice would be appreciated.

This is also my birthday weekend. So far we are thinking about Mortons on Saturday for my birthday and Chelsea Five Gastropub for brunch on Sunday.

We plan to checkout Harrah’s and Borgata on Friday. When we go to Vegas we always have dinner at the iconic Batista’s, but so far we have not found a similar restaurant in AC. Any suggestions?

Carmine's at Tropicana. You'll never go back to Battista's.

We looked at their menu and it looked nice, but it was probably twice as expensive as dinner at Batista’s. We were looking for another local quirky bargain option as there will be four of us and I want to avoid several $500+ meals if I can. All of the 2-1 reward credit restaurants in AC at CET properties are an irritation.

I think that if I do a room charge at Mortons I should be able to apply my $500 folio credit to the bill one for one, but if anyone knows differently please let me know.

All the entrees are enough for 2-3 people, it's family style.

If you want a quirky Italian restaurant, look no further than Scanniccios at Lefty’s. Cash only. You get a bill from the bar and one from the restaurant, they sell $15 bottles of wine, I forget the label.

While @thegov2k2 and I rarely agree on much, I had a nice group meal at Carmine’s. They have a seafood pasta dish that is really good. I’ve never been to Battista’s Hole in the Wall, but there are many red sauce joints in the Atlantic City area. I don’t think NJ permits unlimited Carlo Rossi jug wine though.

We really enjoyed Chelsea 5 Gastropub, went there a couple weeks ago for dinner, great views.

That Scanniccios sounds intriguing. We've also been to Angelo's which was excellent, and Angeline at Borgata which is quite good. Not your usual Jersey red sauce joint, that's for sure.

Was just there and did the matching routine.

    Ocean
7* matched to Prime, gave a one time pass for two to their Avila lounge. (Free drinks, small self serve buffet, prime rib carving station, better than the Tropicana LL) Two tickets to a show we didn't use. Special parking pass. Free t-shirt. Desk was well staffed with quick friendly staff.

    Resorts
They had a match, but it required earning a bunch of points that day. Maybe it would be worthwhile for a local, place felt a bit tired. Didn't do any play there.

    Hard Rock
Matched to Rock Royalty. Given $50 FP. Also saw a free car wash in the kiosk.
Rewards counter was under staffed and slow. They messed up the match so had to go back to the desk. Nice looking property.

    Bally's
Only matching to CET if you played at that Bally's when Caesars owned it, match based on your previous points/play. No other promos, didn't play there.

The Borgata Amphora lounge ($12.50/person comps) was really nice. Has a small self serve buffet with quite a few options. Prime rib/turkey caving stations. Much better selection and food than the Caesars, Tropicana, and Ocean lounges.

It’s a strange set up, the bar is called Lefty’s and restaurant is called Scanniccio’s, you get a bill for drinks and one for the meal. The place is tiny, maybe 8-10 tables.

For a red sauce meal, Jerry Longo's at Ballys seems to fit your bill. Also status match there will get you at least Black Card which include a 100 dollar dinner. Resorts status match will get you a couple free drinks and I believe a bottle of wine if you do dinner at Cappricios (I think).

I'm not sure what you're looking to do while you're there, but IMO Harrah's will just be a waste of your time. Borgata too unless you are planning to go for dinner or the lounge or buffet. Otherwise I think you would enjoy the boardwalk casinos, the beach and the boardwalk area in general. Centurion tower is the middle of the road tower. It's the one we always stay in though, because it is convenient to Ballys (which we frequented when it was a sister property) and also to Wild Wild West which is a part seen.

If your sports people, the sportsbook at caesars will likely have options for you to book couches/tables for the weekend's games and their food and drink menu isn't too bad. The room itself though is massive and very well done.

We ate there three times on our last trip. Good food, comped drinks, and the service was great.

I would like to try Amphora. Seems like it will be worth the $25 in comp dollars for two to enjoy the experience.
