I've mention a coupe of times that verything hinges on the charters. As to overfow, I'd agree to a point. As long as I've been reading forums like this, MSS has always had a loyal clientle separate from the Cal. Not large enough to support the place on it's own, but significant still.
As to training, housekeeping would be easy with not a lot changing. Floor staff, maybe some difference. Of course proticals are now in place and must be emphasized. Service fundementals will need work. A lot of them are totally out of practice. The last thing you want to do is open with a staff that's sub-par in terms of service.
I wouldn't think Sept 1st would out of reach, assuming you find the bodies.

The different protocols would more than likely be the same as the Cal. If are they are might need a few meetings and the shadow the Cal. housekeepers for a while. Hoping retraining would be quick so we can come back.

that does bring to mind the fact that it is connected via the bridge to Cal meaning there can be nearly an on property (well, close) Hotel, without opening up the MSS rooms, but that's probably all that is worth, an idle thought.

I'd be thrilled if they just opened BHB, the craps tables, and turned the machines on.
I'd take the under on it happening.

I'll also shout out the guy that was talking about the opening of Circa and Resorts World causing a trickle-up shortage of most of the best, or even good talent, in all positions so +1 labor shortage, +1 training time.

Discovered this week that you are able to book at MSS on the MSS website at more reasonable prices (<$100/night) for October. If you try to book August or September dates they are still listed at $599/night.
Still get the MSS Closed banner through the BConnected site.
    Progress to re-opening?

No matter what you find on any website, until Boyd makes an announcement or declares on their site MSS is open, we'll all be in suspense.

Hawaii is raising concerns again about travel to Las Vegas, so I do not see MSS opening up in September because of that reason. Delta is hurting Las Vegas right now and health officials in different states are warning travel. Also, how are the hotels doing filling up now? If the Cal is filling up, then MSS might have a chance of reopening soon, but I do not think September will be the answer due to the current situation with the pandemic.

I do know when we were there June 25-29, Cal was sold out Friday & Saturday with both towers open. But, that was a month ago and Delta was just starting to be mentioned.

6 or so posts above elation over mss’s inclusion in booking option. Today’s mail, not so much. E25C96AA-F39C-4021-BEC1-A268881E6CEF.jpeg as frustrating as a bajillion piece puzzle. :(

I believe it's definitely a staffing shortage. It's totally not dead downtown. I stayed downtown in June, and all the casinos were short on people. You could barely get a table in a restaurant because they didn't have the staff of servers or cooks that they normally do. I saw housekeeping working way into the evening when they normally don't. Behind the desks were only maybe one or two people. And while I always had good drink service and I never saw a mess, there are much less cocktail waitresses and maintenance people on the floors then you usually see. If they could barely keep the Cal and Fremont open I don't even know what they would do if they also had to split those people up to cover Main Street.

I drove by there the other day and a crew was working on the exterior. Most likely it was painting since they were covering the windows.

It will almost certainly be new faces all around. Will definitely take away from the experience. Some of the staff had been there for 25 to 30 years. Dam near irreplaceable to those of us who have been going for many years.

Best news I heard all day.

Glad the buffet will make it. And DO NOT change anything else, including:

    1) 4-of-a-kind (or higher) VP reward scratch cards
    2) Full pay VP, including at the bar
    3) Microbrews on tap at the bar, in a full-sized pint glass, especially the Black Chip Porter
    4) Combined (or psuedo-combined) slot club between MSS and The Cal, for comps and room offers... some (like me) like to play both
    5) Friendly and attentive staff, I even learned a couple names (Jose, Oleg... please come back as bartenders!!)
    6) Classic VP games, like "Aces and Faces" and Treasure Chest

Please!!!! Keep all of the above!!
