Thanks..... appreciate the concern and interest for those who posted so far but to be honest.... maybe I could fly I'd have to check with the doctors with the afib matters. .But coming from the East Coast the hassles of flying and needing a scooter to maneuver around because of the severe arthritis, it just doesn't seem to be worth it .I have two casinos an hour away and many others within 5 hour drive. But although I do check this board daily my interest in LV has significantly decreased

I'm still interested in Vegas. I did a trip with friends this past October and I have reservations for this October. I've been to Atlantic City several weekends wearing masks. I'm logging into VMB and another site almost every day to see what's going on. I'm hoping the shows will go on. I have tickets to Rod Stewart and would hate to have this cancelled.

I am now concerned about shows again…we have three to see in three nights on our upcoming trip. I will be closely monitoring the news and this board for any updates. That means a little more time here than normal for this point before a trip!

If anything it's dramatically increased. I've been, relatively speaking, unemployed, since the beginning of the year. The internet is the only thing keeping me in the vicinity of sane.

I'd like to add to my previous post. I like this forum not just for the information but also the community. I've gotten to know some of you and we've had great discussions. So yes, I stay very active here not just for Las Vegas but also for the community aspect.

Still love and want to go as many times as I can. Still have love for the board, even if I don’t agree with what’s being said sometimes. But that’s life in general for me. The cool thing? None of us HAVE to come here, but we do. If you don’t have love for the board, the internet is a vast rabbit hole.

I love geeking out on the business of Vegas and like visiting often myself. I will say that one trend I've noticed here and at other Vegas groups/message boards is an aversion/ban on open COVID discussions. There are many good reasons for it but I'd love to see one thread where the filter is taken off just so that I can put my ear to the ground. Life's a little more fun with some controlled chaos. :goofy:

My love of vacationing in Vegas has never changed. Luckily, I found this awesome message board a long time ago. I read/listen to all the great information and the trip reports more than I participate in day to day chit chat. I appreciate everyone posting. There are many posters who I feel like I know just from posts and trip reports. Thanks!

Last trip to Vegas was supremely disappointing, and not because I didn't win anything.
The slot selection is going to crap, in my opinion. I can't think of a single "new" slot title that is even remotely appealing to me. It's almost like slot machines are slowly edging towards non-handpay territory, unless you up your bet to $10/spin.
I predict that there will be a Slot Hall of Fame next door to the Pinball Hall of Fame, and I will spend all of my time there soaking in nostalgia.
Agree with an earlier poster about how a lot of threads here are broken records, just complaining/whining about the same stuff that will not change.
CET/ElDo waives resort fees for almost anyone.. where do you think that revenue will come from? Freebies are going away, too bad!
Table mins on the Strip are going up and staying up.. you want $1 min but don't want to play at the trashy locals place? Get over it!
Get off my lawn! Damn kids..

    ok, I'm done. :haha:

Vegas because so many place closing(buffet), all the fees, nickel and diming, price going way up, mask on the plane , all the testing required to fly since im not from USA

As one of the first 1,000 members here, I take pride in still hanging in after 20 years on VMB. Like Ken V said, it is my daily water cooler. Though I don't have that same excitement about Vegas as 15-20 years ago, my interest in the message board has not waned, thanks in large part to the job Sonya does.
I do miss many of the characters we had in early 2000s and the VMB March Madness get-togethers.

Yes. I keep reading the same questions and answers day after day. Ceasar's Palace or Bellagio for my trip? How is Sam's Town for the weekend crowd? And list goes on and on. Very little new topic or insights. I just check in occasionally now.

I'm still interested in Vegas (although my "last trip" may very well be in March 2022), and I still come to VMB 2 or 3 times a day.
I don't yet know how I will finance trips after March, as I'm planning to retire next summer & I have no idea where I'll find "extra" Vegas cash.
...and as for VMB, my only issues here have to do with things beyond my control - so, I take the good (vast majority of stuff here) along with the few 'frustrating' things.

There are a handful pf people here who's trips reports are something I enjoy immensely... probably many of the same TRs that y'all love as well.
The table-games section is my default page for my VMB bookmark, so - yeah - I still participate a great deal there & in the 'Downtown' section.
"Non-Vegas" chat can be fun/entertaining, for all of the obvious reasons.

Anyway, when/if any of that changes, who can tell?
First priority right now is to figure out how to budget for future trips after March!

I thought I posted previously but apparently forgot to press reply lol.

I check VMB now just as much as I ever have, obviously more so when I'm about to go on a trip. I would say, if anything, my interest in the board has stayed the same, but with the devaluation of return for my business, that has me losing more and more interest in Vegas.

Vegas used to, at least from my perspective, be one of the few vacation spots where you could get something back for blowing 5k (using this as an example, not necessarily a barometer). Now, more than ever, the comp diminishment has me thinking that if I need a gambling fix that bad, I can drive 15 minutes away.

So I guess in sum, my interest in the board is where it's always been, but Vegas? Less and less, unfortunately.

I tend to follow the boards more when I am starting to plan a trip (which could be several months in advance), and less when I am not.

At the moment I am still interested in Vegas as it has been some time, I had to cancel my last trip (and another potential one), and I have a number of deals with limited time horizons, and haven't been anywhere in a couple years now. But my interests are also evolving, the list of potential travel companions is narrowing, and my CET comps may finally be dying, all of which could affect my enthusiasm in the future.

This fall trip, if I even take it, could be a real test of my future with Vegas, as I seek to expand the things I do solo, and spend more time outdoors, and branch out from CET. But if the covid numbers keep rising throughout August, I may cancel it again, and if we get to a point where i dont have time sensitive deals pulling me in, there is a real chance I could lose interest.

I still love Vegas, more so if going with people who like to gamble, eat, and go to shows. But like others, my interest has only waned because of health reasons which is putting me in pain when walking. Currently seeing a rheumatologist for autoimmune disease. I cancelled my July and October trip and made one for November hoping doctors can relieve my pain by then. Planning restaurants and activities with friends.

I enjoy checking out the board on a regular basis. Vegas is a nice escape for us and we enjy our trips. The board is a nice break from work. I don't consume evrything and I avoid certain topics. For example, VP is not my thing so I don't follow those conversations. The only topics that truly interest me are as follow:

    1. Why resort fees are evil
    2. How to save a $1.50 by taking 3 buses instead of 1 bus to downtown
    3. Why there are no longer $3 craps table on the strip
    4. Trip reports to the Aztec Inn

With expanded table gaming coming to my state within the next few months (craps, baccarat, roulette, etc. instead of just BJ and a couple poker carny games), the current crowded conditions in Vegas, cutbacks on comps, cutback on player-friendly game rules/odds, closed restaurants and prices getting ridiculous at what is actually open, etc. I've pretty much lost all interest in going to Las Vegas again. Also, last time I was in Vegas there was just too much MJ smoke smell around for my liking, and I can't use MJ due to my job. I had a trip scheduled for a couple weeks ago and cancelled it.

Frankly, I like playing locally better anymore because if I quickly have a big win, big loss, or just don't feel the vibe is right, I can just drive home and not feel captive or obligated to stay.

As for the message board, I read VMB as much as ever. Lots of great stories, trip reports, interesting questions/observations, etc. from gamblers of all types involving casinos across the country and not just Las Vegas.

The JPW trip reports keep me coming back too, the man has a way of making you feel like you are right there...

I still check in here occasionally, but more when I have scheduled trips planned.
It's nice to help each other, or read other's trip reports, what is new ect.

I have two trips flights booked, but will watch and see closer to time if I want to cancel with all that is going on.
CET comps have gone down, and I like to go when its not too crowded, so we will see.

But I find genuine people on here who have answered my questions, and I have answered questions too. It's just nice to go where
    people understand enthusiasm for Vegas!

I love Vegas and, having not been there since January 2020, I am more than anxious to go back. Having had to cancel my last two trips, due to either shutdowns or Covid related restrictions, and now going into wait and see mode for our September 2021 trip, I'm starting to wonder if I'd rather branch out and visit other places. We were in NYC the week before July 4th and had a blast and, surprisingly, spent less than we do in Vegas even with paying for a hotel. I'm both excited to return and apathetic about Vegas, if that makes sense. I still check the board most days, though.
