    My Trip Report

MGM has started doing trips out of our local airport, Macon Regional.

It's 12 miles/20 minutes from our house. I believe parking is still free and it's a very small airport., maybe 3 gates.

We're scheduled to depart at 1:00pm and the flight is just under 2 hours.

The price was $298 each and we get the usual $50FP. I'm hoping with some decent play the price will come down. Biloxi is only $50.

We've never been to Atlantic City so not sure what to expect.

    Cigar pics to follow.

I have only done AC once. Hopefully it’s a good time!

Having been in about ten years. We used to go four or five times a year- a six hour drive from upstate NY its not Vegas but still enjoyable. The boardwalk is interesting to see. . The White House sub shop has the best subs. Since you are staying at the borgata then you won’t be on the boardwalk at night. There are some not too pleasant areas around the boardwalk so don’t stray too far. Before we got comps at the casinos we would stay off the boardwalk. The walk to our hotel was always scary. One time our hotel wouldn’t let us in the as the police were there and they found a gun in one of the rooms. Then another time the place got robbed. On our way home we would count the buses coming out of Philly filled with senior citizens going for a day at the casinos. The count was always over a hundred. Then PA got casinos and that number dropped. There used to be some nice beach bars along the boardwalk but so much has changed over the years. Enjoy- it will be interesting to read your trip report .

Do you have to be invited in order to book these flights? Did you have any issues getting the days you wanted?

Yes, invited by email and post card. But I imagine if you have the MGM players card you could call and see about it. Regarding dates, you really don't have a choice. They tell you the days and flight times and you decide if you're up for it. Seems like the trips to Biloxi are once per month or so.

Love AC and I go a fair bit, but haven't been for 4-5 months. Looking forward to hearing how you enjoy!

Weather is excellent on the water this time of year. While you'll be in the Marina, there's a few different ways to get to the Boardwalk, which as a first timer I would definitely recommend you try at least once during your trip.

Also, if you like Italian food/subs, give White House Subs on Artic Avenue (not the one in the Hard Rock). If you go during the day time you'll be safe, which I mention as some folks will invariably say it's unsafe all over 24/7 (which isn't true and those are generally the people who've never gone, ironically).

You might want to check out the B Bar at Borgata for lighting up those sticks. I haven't been there since the ban on smoking was lifted, but in the past it was very common to see folks enjoying a cigar. There is also an outdoor beer garden, but again, I'm not sure what the rules are regarding cigars.

There is also a free beach shuttle, but there is a charge for chairs and umbrella.

Here is a walk through video from May, more amenities will be open now.

    Have a good trip.
We're here now on a similar junket. So far have been very impressed with the property.

FYI if you're Gold or higher the Amphora lounge is very nice and open 2-10pm, $12.50 comp per person (so $25 per visit for 2). Drinks and a medium sized buffet.
Also found out the buffet is the same price or only 1/2 price at breakfast.

On the plane, flight should be 92 minutes.
