I don't know if there are similar come-ons in other markets, but ...

I've been getting regular come-ons from our local CET ever since they reopened in 2020, you know, things like get a free oven mitt for so many points, but this afternoon when I got back I was greeted with this one! Something I can and actually will use! :)

It doesn't start until next week so I can't rush right out and redeem them this week. :)

Looks like it runs for three months.

Would be great if in the big markets, Vegas and AC, this were also the case but doubtful that ever happens. Looks like Iowa is at the forefront of adding comps rather than taking them lol.

I received the 2 free drinks offer throughout most of this winter, it stopped in April or May (when my play was at it's highest) and received the same offer again this week.

This is the first time I've received it. Of course I just started playing at the Horseshoe again not that long ago. I was mostly Ameristar during the height of the pandemic.

I haven't been to Ameristar in years - never had ANY luck there.

I think I reported this before. In April I put $20 into a machine at Ameristar on the third level and got a good hit, $60-ish, and I did not cash the ticket but kept recycling it each trip.

It's gone up and down since then but I'm still playing on that $20 each time I go. I've never cashed it out at less than $20.

My locals are Prairie meadows and Wild Rose Jefferson. No free drinks around here! I will say Wild Rose offers some pretty good drink specials, like 2 dollar tall boys and rails drinks pretty often. Prairie meanwhile is like drinking at the airport...

Interesting - heading to CB this weekend. Last time I was there was March 2020 (pre-pandemic) and stayed at Harrah's. Drinks were free for table games players, which was surprising since my local Prairie Meadows told me they don't offer comp drink due to state law.

CB is a 4 hour drive, KC a 3 hour drive, both each way. CB seems to try a lot harder to provide a pleasurable experience and seems to "want" our business much more than KC Harrah's. I'd rather make the extra drive, but wifey doesn't like windshield time so we end up in KC more than I'd prefer.

Same. CB for me is just under 2 hours, while KC is 2.5-3. For us it comes down to CB since they recently started comping beverages. Doesn't sound like much, but an hour less of road time plus probably $50+ savings per person with free drinks is enough to keep us away from the KC area.

For a LONG time, that was their excuse for not offering free drinks. I have no clue if there was an actual regulation that was binding upon them or not.

Then sometime (late 2000-oughts, maybe?) I became aware that Diamond (and equivalent at Ameristar) players were getting free drinks. There have been several off and on free drink promos over the years. Free Beer Friday, free champagne and sometimes beer in the (gone but not forgotten) buffets, and now the Platinum free drink promo.

I have a feeling that a change in the regulations occurred, since there were several other very significant changes as well. The most significant is that they now allow landlocked gaming. Horseshoe (nee' Bluffs Run) quickly expanded from a racino without VP to a full-blown casino and Harrah's ditched their boat and moved into what was their (teeny-tiny) convention center. The last big change was sports books. First they were race-only, no sports, now both, but Ameristar, for some reason, is sports only, no racing.

KC uses gaming laws as the excuse for no free beverages...even for Diamond members in the Laurel Lounge. However, they give free drinks to 7* members in the same Laurel Lounge. Is there something in the gaming laws that allow for free drinks to 7* members? I grow weary of businesses that think their customers are idiots.

Once I remember, decades ago, the old Casino Omaha (now Blackbird Bend Casino) had a Green Beer special for St. Pat's weekend where it was absurdly low in price, such as $0.25 or so. If you ordered a draw of Bud Light, it was a couple of bucks, but if they added a drop or two of green food coloring it was a quarter. That was one way they got around the law back when it was apparently really verboten to offer free drinks.

I have been Diamond for the past 5 years plus at Harrah’s. I don’t recall a time that we did not get comped drinks. Hopefully that does not change, who knows.

Well, I just got a spa^H^H^Hnice email from CET notifying me (and millions I'm sure) that the Platinum Drink Special has been extended through December.

Yeah, incentive to at least show up each week.
