They have this electronic gaming area now at PH, almost the same as my local Indian casino has except they don’t have a stage area there.
I’m not a fan of it

This is where the poker room used to be. What's even worse about the PH version of this staidum gaming is they have 3 to 5 dealers all talking on mic like they host a radio morning show and think they have personalities. Talking about what they did last night, telling knock knock jokes, forcibly laughing at everything, talking over each other. They also try to engage players, calling people out. And they have to talk loudly, to be heard over the music.

It might just be an experiment to see how it appeals to Gen Z or something, but to my feeble gambler mentality, it's completely annoying and makes me not want to play. I prefer robot dealers who don't comment on every hand.

I have to clarify something regarding my last stay at Caesars and not being upgraded to Augustus. I was not booked in Augustus to begin with. When I checked online, I didn't see Augustus available, so I booked Forum.

Then when checking in, I tried asking for an Augustus upgrade (which has worked in the past), and the rest is the same.

I did have one prior trip (pre-pandemic, pre-Eldorado) where I booked Augustus and then was downgraded because of availability and given the excuse of not all room types are guaranteed. I was still 7 Stars too.

During the pandemic, I had maybe 5 or so Caesars stays and always had Augustus fountain view (doubly nice was the mini bar not being stocked, so I could use it to refrigerate my own things, and they didn't charge the $75 fee).

As some have mentioned, perhaps they do indeed want to save Augustus rooms for paying customers.

I just finished up my trip and actually enjoyed my small Julius room, mostly for proximity to the heart of everything (mainly meaning the video poker I like to play). They even installed a kiosk (for drink vouchers) next to the ATMs (though it was out of service the whole 5 nights). The high limit room has two of the kiosks, saving a trek to the rewards desk area.

They had something going on Monday where they had maybe like 40 girls walk down the runway one at a time doing there best to rile up the crowd. Maybe it was a pleasure pit try out? I wasn’t sure what was going on

Ha, we were there at the same time.

Yep, they were doing auditions. I took a video but can't figure how to upload. Here's a photo. Where do they put their resumes!

They've had a giant electronic gaming area in the Palazzo/Venetian for years, but no one there is yuking it up pretending they're auditioning for a morning drive radio cohost slot.

Yep, Venetian/Palazzo was the first in Vegas, I believe, after success at their Macau properties. It was so empty at launch, I thought it would fail. But then it picked up, and other gaming manufacturers developed their own. (Remember the 3D fake dealer in a theater-like setting?)

But in all incarnations of stadium with live dealers, I've never seen the travesty that is PH.

Please don't give the soon-to-be owners and operators any bright ideas.

    OMG this is hilarious.

    Interrupting Cow

They killed my poker room for... THAT?!?! I will get banned if I put words to the first thought that went through my mind.:cuss:

There's an odd sort of logic to this. Taking the quality of the specific quality of the Augustus room relative to the other towers and the more general, "I'm the highest tier and deserve the best (service, benefits, treatment)," attitude that comes with being the highest tier... Do you really care about the view? If you got a room on the other side of the Augustus tower, or a fictional similar room but not in the Augustus tower, would you be happy with it?

I did the Augustus with a view twice. It was a nice novelty. Great rolling backdrop as I did my work-from-hotel stays. I don't feel like I'm going to be missing anything over not having it again. If it would structure my offers to include more free play and/or RCs, I'd see it as a net-positive.

It's mostly the casuals who really care about that view for their instagrams and snapchats. And if they value it, CET (+ Bellagio + Cosmo) could sell it to them and drive revenue while shuffling everyone else around to more accommodations with more humble views. If they thoughtfully curated the room experience in other towers for high-value players, I could see this working out. Of course, it's El Dorado and I can guarantee that won't actually happen. But, in theory, you know, I can see a pathway to something resembling success here.

I can see what you're saying. If people are willing to pay the premium for the view, the hotel can let them pay it, and still have really nice rooms available for the gambler who is going to spend 8 hours/day in the casino not enjoying the view. The hotel/casino can then make money off of both customers instead of just the gambler.

The issue I think they're running into is what you mentioned - players with status want the best to show off their status. They don't want to hear that someone else simply paid to get the status they fought so hard for. It's always hard when human ego is involved.

Sometimes a CET offer (e.g. associated free play) has a lower class room rather than just an upfront comp (with no free play). I wonder if those who were denied Augustus rooms were partaking of those offers.

I’d love to see a game there and eat some pizza pizza. Look on the bright side, they’ll demolish one dome and gain a superdome.

With this they’d have to rebrand their sports books from William Hill.
